Welcome to 2010

We may be getting ahead of ourselves - like three or four election cycles ahead of ourselves - but it is worth noting that Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland - nine months into a four-year term - has already started gearing up for his re-election effort.

Some of the governor's best deep-pocket pals, including some statehouse lobbyists, are getting together Nov. 16 at Columbus' Nationwide Arena for a "Circle of Friends" fundraiser.

Tickets for a private reception withteh governor and Lt. Gov. Lee Fisher are going for $2,500 a couple. The less well-heeled riff-raff can scrape together $150 and get in the "Circle of Friends" reception that follows.

The checks will go to the Strickland for Governor committee, but chances are, some of this money could end up helping the Ohio effort of whoever ends up with the Democratic presidential nomination and making sure Ohio stays "blue" through the 2008 cycle and into 2010, when Strickland will be up for re-election.

And since there are already no less than three well-known Republicans - Rob Portman, Mike DeWine, and John Kasich - dropping broad hints that they would like to take him on in 2010 - there's probably no time that is too early to start thinking about the re-election campaign.

Rob Portman is an excellent choice, but DeWine is a RHINO and was quite a failure as a Republican Senator. The only advantage to DeWine as Gov. would be that if a U.S. Senator leaves office, the govoner makes the appointment. Hopefully, he would appoint a consrvative Reputlican.

Pffffffff... puh-leez. If the Democrats had the guts to investigate the corrupt Repugs, there wouldn't even be a GOP in 2010.

Election Complaint filed against Patrick Francis Fischer for misleading Voters.

Cincinnati, Ohio, 10/24/2007 — Election complaints were filed today against Cincinnati City Council candidate Patrick Francis Fischer with the Ohio Elections Commission.

In a three count complaint, the claimant alleges Fischer has attempted to deceive voters by falsely stating his endorsements, making false claims concerning positions currently held, and co-mingling former and current positions in a manner that implies Fischer does currently hold those positions, when he does not.

The, deceiving and misleading, false statements concerning candidate, Fischer, were published on the candidates campaign website either knowing them to be false or with reckless disregard of whether it was false and designed to embellish current credentials in his bid for council election.

The claimant stated:

“There is a likelihood of confusion regarding Fischer's alleged endorsements and claimed positions which are former or current positions. I think it’s clever but dishonest. Bottom line is that he will have to change his website. If his representations where not intentional, then the voters will have to question the competency of an individual who can’t manage a website or campaign staff. Certainly, I would question how Fischer could manage a city given the current demonstrations.”

I thought the democrats were supposed to be the party of the common man? Looks like they are just the party of moneyed interests and lobbyists. For shame.

If you're looking for a particular R or D party to be your saviour I'm afraid you're out of luck. UNLESS, you have donated generously to their campaign that is.

"The first stage of fascism should more appropriately be called Corporatism because it is a merger of State and corporate power."
-- Mussolini

"The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth becomes the greatest enemy of the State."
-- Dr. Joseph M. Goebbels in His Diary

There is an excellent new speech on video by author Naomi Wolf talking about the rise of fascism in America. I highly recommend it to everyone.

Thank you for your post. Naomi Wolf is a very bright and brave American who has a great vision. Because of her veiws, she reseives death-threats like most people get cordial greetings.

If you have not visited our State Capital lately, Sunday afternoon would be an excellent time. Starting at 2;30 in the atrium, one can witness our Governor selling us out to the Islamo-Fascism.
