Former Mayor Now Insurance Lobbyist

Documents filed Monday with the Cincinnati city clerk's office show a familiar face in a new role - Charles J. Luken as a legislative agent for Humana Inc.

Luken left the mayor's office in 2005. He's now a lawyer/lobbyist for Calfee, Hatler & Griswold in Columbus.

I don't like lobbyists at all, but I am glad Luken has found a nice new gig. I was not real fond of him as mayor but...in retrospect...

He did the Square and the convention center, and took allot of crap for it. His efforts brought us a downtown with some new zip.

Congrats, Charlie.

Good for Luken.....anybody who has the moral fortitude to tell the Dhimmicrats in Washington to shove it, I'm going home, is ok with me!

We never knew how good we had it, until mayor Zero came along.

The only problem here: He is in Columbus.

He ought to be working here in Cincinnati where he can help with things.

Nobody knows Cincinnati better.

Charlie sat by and watched the riots happen, appointed Lynch to bring about racial harmony afterwards, sold out our police, and was only interested in getting his mug on tv so he could use it to pick up another girl in the bar later. Let Columbus have their fill.

Pick up another girl? I thought he was a 'gym rat' who liked to lift weights or whatever at the Cincinnati Athletic Club.

Somebody give us some straight facts here...

thank you

Anon:

You missed a few facts: Charlie fired Lynch when he attacked cops. That took guts. He created the CCA, which is operating just fine and has not brought havoc to police. In fact, it vindicates police often. He introduced tasers, which have saved lives, and cop lives. It was a tough time, but nobody could have handled it better.

You know, thinking back on it, he did do some great things under tough circumstances. Remember styrene? Issue 3? 3CDC?

Who cares if he hung out in bars? We need more characters in politics.

And, he did it all without a bodyguard.

Classic Charlie quote: "Wal-Mart can track a pair of socks across the country, and you guys can't track a railcar full of dangerous chemicals?"

Luken was supposed to lead us as our "strong" mayor. He did nothing but sit on the sidelines while council furthered their reputation of arguing and getting nothing accomplished. Good for a quote, yes, but not big on results.

Charlie also allowed Kenny Lawson to sit, all tanked up, at the table for this racist, criminal Collaborative Agreement. The CA put handcuffs on the police, gave the criminals license to do as they pleased & instilled mortal fear in law-abiding citizens who are hanging on by the last thread in this city.

However, I will give Charlie credit that he spoke up, chafed a bunch of people & did so without taking a cop off the streets as a private security guard & teddy bear.

And yeah, Charlie likes his babes. He might go to the gym, but when you're AARP middle age, you gotta have an edge with the eye candy chickies.

"No results"? Look at the Square and convention center, and even the Kroger Garage and condos...you may not like the results, but he got 'em

I just think he was funny...He is classic on Cunningham.

The Collaborative Agreement was signed by: The Police Chief and the FOP. Then they implied they were forced into it. Anybody ever force Fangman to do anything?

Then they pretended they had nothing to do with it.

Actually, the whole thing was painful, but necessary.

Does anyone seriously think the NAACP Convention would be here without the expansion...or the Collaborative?

Luken sold out my community to a cement plant. He never worked for me. Let Columbus have him. Humama isn't much good either. Ever try to get them to pay a claim?
