Young professionals' endorsements
Here's which Cincinnati City Council candidates CincyPAC thinks you should vote for:
Jeff Berding, Chris Bortz, Laketa Cole, John Cranley, Pat Fischer, Greg Harris and Roxanne Qualls.
"We feel that these candidates, if elected, will move our city forward," Sean Parker, founder of CincyPAC, wrote in a press release Tuesday. "All of them have voiced a commitment to: providing adequate public transportation to connect the city, funding the arts in our community, supporting the parks and green spaces in the city, creating more environmentally friendly initiatives within the city, and expanding our current wi-fi network currently available through Lily Pad."
More than 250 members of CincyPac reviewed the responses from questionnaire responses sent in by 22 candidates and 20 candidate interviews.
CincyPac plans to contribute money to these candidates' campaigns, Parker wrote, do an aggressive Get Out The Vote effort and help with the campaigns.

"Funding the arts in our community"?
Berding, Bortz and Cole combined to substantially cut arts funding in the last budget.
Doesn't this guy work on one of the campaigns recommended ?
You bet he does, he is their bag-boy !
We say, since he did not disclose this 'FACT', integrity has been breached !
How many seats are available on council ?
PATHETIC
HAD ENOUGH:
VOTE NO, on the 'fanatical five' !
VOTE, for a real DEMOCRAT 2007 and JEFFRE !
Cincypac is a new but pleasant group of young people and I wish them well. Their focus seems to be that of a younger, naive group (light rail, green construction, environment) with little connection to our history and our Cincinnati tradition whereas others feel that safe streets and revitalizing our neighborhoods are top concerns. Look at who was endorsed and you can see the direction that that candidate will take.
More like the StatusQuoPAC!
This might be worth 7 votes.
Yes, I agree, I think this would make a fine Council. Maybe adding Eby.
As a member of the CincyPAC I have to say I am more than a little disappointed in their endorsement choices. While I am pleased that Harris and Qualls received their support, I am appalled that Berding, Cole, and Bortz made the cut!!!!
With a list like that we can kiss our (already limited) arts funding au revoir!!!!
Younger and naive? New leadership is the only way to move Cincinnati forward. Our history and tradition only matter if we use them to take us to new places - and that can't be done with the same old thinking and the same old government.
Plus, how will improved transit and new construction NOT revitalize our neighborhoods?
Qualls wil move the city forward? She spent 8 years moving it backward.
And Sean's "partner" in CincyPAC Darren Tolliver has worked on Cole and Mallory campaigns, but I'm pretty sure that isn't disclosed either.
Berding? Bortz? Cole? NO THANKS. BORING.
I don't see why they didn't endorse Eby...
Because Eby is a westside wimp. No guts, no glory, John.
VOTE NO, on the 'fanatical five' ! Endorsements are not seen as is by Bold Endeavers!
VOTE, for a real DEMOCRAT 2007 and LITTLE JEFFRE !
We have a great number of beautiful, traditional, BUT VACANT houses that can be rehabbed in the core neighborhoods. This must be done before we sink tax money into additional transit (light rail). You need, again, solid neighborhoods first before you move on...
If CincyPAC's clout is as good as its website, then we should expect very little from them. They do not even list who they endorse, have done nothing to promote these canddiates, but instead have links to three articles promoting themsleves. Sounds like all the other YP initiatives--all flash, no substance.

That statement right there sums up Cincinnati. This is the only city in America where people are happy with status quo and are scared of progress.
all hype and get together for beers, not change... very naive, uninformed unless it's spoon fed... at least they're attempting to get together etc. they talked about improving parks before touching lives and helping families/housing, figured P&G leadership skills would kick in and push them to learn more, dig deeper, peel the onion, and create change vs. talk about it online
