Now it is clear. The We Demand A Vote group is really against the jail and the necessary tax to build and operate it. All this time they mislead the public by saying its about a vote. How do these people sleep at night after lying to the public? Had they asked, Do you support the new jail and the programs to reduce overcrowding for a mere 1/2 cent for every $100 in sales for a limited amount of time, the county could be breaking ground now. Their actions are conitnuing the practices that drive people from the county...no leadership at the commission for any topic. Push on Commissioners Pepper and Portune. Voters, please remeber the lies when DeWine and Smitherman two-face you inn the next election.

Awesome news! We the people have taken back our right to vote. It's sad we have to celebrate our preservation of a basic right, but the heavy-handed actions of The White Democrats and Si Lies forced us to act.

I don't think this is even going to be close in November. Everyone knows if these guys thought they had a good plan they would have been proud to present it to us and seek our approval. They know their plan sucks so they tried to sneak it through us. They thought Sheriff Lies would take care of the right and Pepper/Portune would take care of the left and boss around black voters. It didn't work too well, did it?

We definitely owe lots of appreciation to Pat DeWine for standing up to a bully Sheriff and 2 obnoxious colleagues. Now it's time to defeat this bloated plan and tell the Commissioners to do their jobs by writing a real jail and safety plan within the constraints we the voters have given them.

anon 5:26 - the petition campaign was about giving people their right to vote. That campaign is over, our right to vote has been restored, NOW the issue is whether to vote for it or not.

Your numbers are off, btw. The Democrat Sales Tax hike is 1/2 cent for each $1 purchased, not each $100 purchased. Are you sure you have a clue what's going on?

Anon 5:26 must be a graduated of Cincinnati Publik Shool.

"Do you support the new jail and the programs to reduce overcrowding for a mere 1/2 cent for every $100 in sales for a limited amount of time, the county could be breaking ground now."

Um, you are off by 100 times. It would be a half-cent for every dollar. That's 50 cents for every c-note, which will add up quick. It doesn't sound like much, but a family spending $30,000 per year on taxable goods and services will spend another $150 just because our Silver Spoon Democrat and our Platinum Spending Democrat can't make tough decisions or respect the will of the voters.
