Pepper "irate"
Shortly after The Enquirer posted it's first blog item tonight about Pepper's -- at that time -- lame party, he called to expressed mock indignation.
"The party sounds so lame, I'm not going," Pepper said.
He read the blog item from home where he was planning to order dinner from Longworth's and head to what he hopes is a victory party.
"It could all come down to who turns out," Pepper predicted. "If it is an even turnout, I feel pretty good about it."
He worries, though, because historically, Hamilton County's Republicans have strong turnouts.
There were groans when Pepper spokeswoman Bridget Doherty announced there is a cash bar.
"Sorry, we spent all of our money on TV (advertising)," Doherty told the crowd at the party.
U.S. Senate candidate Sherrod Brown is scheduled to call in to the Pepper party at about 8:30 p.m.
