Lawsuits coming in Ohio 2004 election?

Robert F. Kennedy says he may file lawsuits related to the 2004 presidential election in Ohio, which he maintains was stolen in a Republican conspiracy.

Here are excerpts from his interview with PRWeek:

PRWeek: Tell me about the process of putting the story together - it obviously took a while.

Kennedy: I read the literature out there, and read the articles. (Emphasis added by blogmaster - we can do that.) Then I interviewed voters in Ohio, and public officials, and people who were involved in the election from all over the country.

PRWeek: Why do you think this wasn't covered heavily by major media directly after the election?

Kennedy: I think the mainstream media took up the Republican echo chamber, and just echoed the right-wing talking points.

PRWeek: Is there a next step?

Kennedy: I've been meeting with attorneys... to devise a litigation strategy. And I would say that very soon we'll be announcing lawsuits against some of the individuals and companies involved.

PRWeek: Who exactly would that litigation be targeting?

Kennedy: I wouldn't say, right now.

Thank you for covering this important story! RFK Jr is correct-this story is important because the same people are planning for 2006 and will be counting the votes, again. I support this lawsuit because the use of dirty tricks (misinformation, caging, challenges) mis-allocation of machines, uncounted votes, purges, registration problems and machine vote flipping are an effront to our democracy. Those who really take the time to investigate the evidence, instead of simply denying it will be appalled of what was done.
If there are not verifiable elections, there can be no legitimate government.

As far as I can tell the PR Week article requires a chunk of a subscription fee to access.

RFK Jr. and Mike Papantonio discuss plans for Qui Tam suits against Diebold and others in their radio show linked here. That's an mp3. Check about the first 15' or so of the show.

To all the spoiled-brat liberal Democrats who infest this blog:

do you think the Enquirer got THIS from a Republican Party press release? You people have grown so accustomed to having news reporters on TV sswallow your talking points whole that you cannot even fathom that there are other stories out there.

Anon 10:09,

Huh? Carl Weiser was recently quoted in Editor and Publisher saying that the Enquirer checked with people "who know Ohio elections best" and that they found no problem.

Weiser posted this article.

The paper does not support this sentiment. They have just acknowledged a huge national story, but only on their blog...

Let's See... I wonder who he is going to sue... Maybe Ken Blackwell? This whole story is a joke. I love how the libruls talk about Rove and the dirty politics they play.

What about this? This is nothing more than a hatchet job on Blackwell to get his name out there in a negative light.

Stand up Moonbats, embrace the mothership, Commander Kennedy is calling with more diversons instead of answers

This is ground control to Major Kennedy... maybe if you proposed some meaningful legislation you would be more widely recognized. Every major source on this has debunked his theories. Believe me if they were valid the Librul News Networks would be ALL OVER IT!

Congratulations, you have bought and printed the largest load of political crap I have ever heard. Trying to give the vote back to imprisoned felons is not a voter registration drive. The Republicans in Ohio did nothing more than stop these people from altering the basic rules that have been in place for years. I have had to endure crap like this for the last 10 years, and virtually none of the Ohio rumors or accusations have been proven true. You guys print this crap and people believe it, you have a duty to check these accusations out.

No, not a w(R)ong wing press release. It is just so big they can't ignore it, period !

buckwheat will do everything he can to suppress the black and minority vote.

He is trapped in a body he despises !

This is nothing more than a hatchet job on Blackwell to get his name out there in a negative light.

buckwheat has done a fine job of disgracing his own name.

when the w(R)ong wing nuts try to support obvious corruption they clearly represent to the public that they are misleaders for our state, nation.

It is clear the only moon bat is the blogger with blinders !

glad to see you are not afriad to cover a story. be aware that some comments will try to smear you for even asking about what went wrong.
We can't trust Blackwell to count his own votes for himself-maybe we need a system that rewards honesty instead.
Good for you for letting us know.
please keep on this story. America deserves honest elections.

Why won't Carl Weiser answer a straightforward question to back up his on-the-record quote in Editor & Publisher?

The only reasons Weiser wouldn’t answer this question are that he doesn’t feel obligated to defend his reporting to a blogger or else his statement to E&P is not based on facts that will back up his conclusion.

It astounds me that fair and verifiable elections are considered radical to a certain segment of the population. If the table were turned do you really think there would be silence on the part of the Republicans? We need to take partisan politics out of the administering of elections and have a fair system that has the confidence of all voters.

The privatization of our vote, and the partisan administering of elections is a threat to our democracy. We have an equal protection clause in our constitution and it should apply to all voters. Anything less should not be trusted.

That Weiser would use the excuse that if a Republican had called attention to the many questionable aspects of the Ohio 2004 election is laughable.

From Editor and Publisherr

Weiser of the Enquirer adds that Kennedy's obvious Democratic leanings do not help the validity of his story. "If a major Republican was saying this, I might be paying more attention to it," he says.

Uh, Carl why in the **** would a Republican admit to things like putting stickers on ballots in Clermont County or devising a story about an FBI/Homeland Security level 10 threat against Warren County so that the right for independent observation of the ballot tabulation could be subverted.

And don't forget Clermont County's problems with "moist ballots" in 91 precincts. Fortunately Hamilton, Warren, Sciota and Pike counties were blessed with a cold front on that hot August day.

And what Republican would admit to this:

http://www.solarbus.org/election/images/ohio.gif

Or this:

http://www.solarbus.org/election/images/lakecounty.gif

What Republican official would divulge purging eligable voters, denying provisional ballots cast at the right polling location but the wrong table/precinct?

Is suppression a Cincinnati Enquirer SW OH conservative value?

This paper has failed the citizens of this country.

Where is our Woodward and Bernstein? Not at the Enquirer.

What a load of garbage. Noone is trying to supress the vote. From what I see and hear they are making sure that those that register to vote are allowed to by the way the law is. It is not supressing the vote to check and see if it is legal to register or not. If you are a criminal then you are not allowed by law to vote!!

Yes anyone can see this is the Dems crying about losing(still) and are going to try and run Blackwells name through the mud.

Hey Dems why don't you talk issues and stop trying to win with dirty politics. Maybe Kennedy can go investigate his own brother who lied and lied and lied about his so called accident. Hey Kennedy get out of my state you cry baby!!
