The stars come out for Sherrod

If, as has been said, politics is show business for homely people, Sen. Barack Obama, the freshman from Illinois, stands out not only as an exception to the rule, but as a true "rock star'' of Democratic politics.

Saturday, June 3, Obama brings his act to a Sherrod Brown fundraising luncheon at the Westin Hotel in downtown Cincinnati.

Obama will be followed into Cincinnati on Sept. 12 by a genuine rock star, singer-songwriter Carole King, whose soft-rock standards were the soundtrack for the lives of baby boomers like Brown. She'll perform at the Aronoff Center to raise money for Brown's campaign to unseat Sen. Mike DeWine.

The invite from the Brown campaign is marketing Obama and King events as a package deal. The lowest ticket price, $500 (described in the invitation as "standard seating"), asks that the donor choose between the political rock star and the musical rock star.

But if you kick in $1,000 to $2,100 (the maximum contribution for the general election cycle), you get a ticket to both events. Write a $2,100 check and you also get an invite to a Sept. 11 private cocktail reception with King and Brown at the east Walnut Hills home of Allan and Jennie Berliant, the hosts of both fundraisers.

Ah, Senator Ted Kennedy's beloved "Osama bin Obama." (Remember, Ted is the Kennedy in Congress with the drinking and driving problem).

I can't wait for the upcoming Ohio elections.

As a black man, I'm glad that Ken Blackwell isn't the only other brother on the Ohio ballot.

Sherrod Brown and his close, close homie Barak Obama work together, I know we can get a black man in Congress.

When Sherrod Brown is endorsed by members of the NAACP, when Sherrod Brown proposes his gas plan to the African-American Chamber of Commerce, and when Sherrod Brown invokes Martin Luther King's Dream in order to raise the minimum wage, we know that Sherrod Brown is a brother that can be trusted for his integrity and honesty in showing the Ohio voters just what kind of man he really is.

I suppose Sherrod is a true brother for he does not attempt to divide the people by untruth and racial prejudice !

Most important he is a leader !

The color of his skin is irrelevant, for those who know him, they know his race and would never lie about it !

He will be one cog in the mighty wheel to roll over the w(R)ong wing nuts and their culture of corruption !

The only color the w(R)ong wing nuts see is green and how to steal it from the citizen !

They are:

Addicted

Osama Obama? Real creative. Maybe we should be a bit more worried about the real Osama bin Laden. Bush's DUI problems are a little more recent than Kennedy's but we don't hear anything about that in the corporate-controlled media.

It's funny to see some people here who think Sherrod Brown is a "brother".

Let me give you guys a clue - between Sherrod Brown and Barack Obama, there's only 1/2 of a black man combined. Look it up.
