Pepper's mouthpiece

A former WLW radio reporter is the new spokeswoman for the campaign hoping to get David Pepper elected Hamilton County Commissioner.

Bridget Doherty, 28, of Green Township, was named communications director today for Pepper's campaign.

A graduate of Mother of Mercy High and the University of Cincinnati, Doherty spent five years as a reporter for WLW, 700 AM, where she covered breaking news and city and county government.

Until last week, Doherty was communications director for the Cincinnati AFL-CIO Labor Council, where she coordinated union support for campaigns and events.

"It’s a coup for the campaign to have someone with so much experience in both media and grassroots campaigning," Pepper said.

Pepper, a Democrat, is trying to unseat Republican incumbent Phil Heimlich.

Applause! Applause! Pepper is putting together another wonderful camp of intelligent, hard working people. This team will be very difficult to beat! Yep, I smell victory!!

Again, the Enquirer spins for the republicans. Two blog entries in a row about two candidates of two different parties and their campaign staffs. For the Republican, Greg Hartmann, we get comradarie and cheer with the headline "The Hartmann team." For Democrat, David Pepper, we get the pejorative "Pepper's mouthpiece."

Do you people even pretend to be objective down there? Is it a requirement that you pledge allegiance every morning to the GOP? And why doesn't anyone ever respond to these questions about your objectivity? We all know the truth. It would be nice to hear someone admit it for a change.

The w(r)ong wing nuts must be paying for the news stories !

Does Pepper have any black people on staff?

at 10:10 AM, May 17, 2006 Anonymous Anonymous said...

Yes. Pepper has never had a staff that wasn't racially diverse.

Yes, David has a black person on staff. And he always had a diverse Council staff as well.

With the addition of Ms. Doherty to his campaign staff, it is clear that David Pepper is committed to running a professional, polished campaign.

Any ties to Brinkman & COAST will cost Heimlich a lot of votes. My neighborhood is fed up with that group and anyone associated with them.

Let's see what has hindlick done ?

He put together a Drake (theft by deceptive sales practice) deal after the citizens voted to fund the community asset with tax dollars !

No wait, I don't think that deal went trough ?

He put together a banks project by omitting the highest vote getter (Portune) on the county commission !

No wait, I don't think that deal went through ?

He fired an administrator at tax payer expense and then hired a crony who omits the highest vote getter on the county commission (Portune) in the communication loop !

Now it takes the administrator and two other cronies to do half the job the former administrator did at taxpayer expense !

Oh, it won't be hard to remove the hindlick once a little Pepper is put on it !

Phil will be screaming for mercy !

I don't think even the hindlick's brother supports him ?

The Hindlick Family

I wondered where she went! i missed hearing her on the radio. She is a great choice. A very smart and talented professional woman. Well spoken, confident. But who is his campaign manager? Doesn't he need one? His guy last time was cute.

Phil will be history !

You cannot represent the county citizen without being a concenus bulder.

Phil is a divider, period !

You can't omitt the highest vote getter on the county commission (Portune) and claim to be a participant in representative government.

The whine would do best to shed himself of the hindlick and work with Todd to move the county forward.

If the whine fails to take heed, he may be siting where Todd is now and he will need those 4,000 voters he got in the second district to call as friends.

He'll have none on the county seat !

It may get lonely when he ends up sitting next to the two highest vote getters on the county commission Portune and Pepper !

Well said Jenny !

It is great to hear a reporter finally speaking the truth !

You are a breath of fresh air !

The citizens are no longer blinded !

They are tired of the culture of corruption !

I don't know, but, that Drake deal smelled funny !

Heimlich opposed the tax levy, but, the citizens supported it !

So Heimlich back doors a sale against the voter ?

Then, the citizens support Portune by making him the highest vote getter on the commission and Phil brokers deals without the citizen's representative's input (Portune) ?

Seems Phil thinks he is smarter than the voter ?

The voter will educate Heimlich with his own pink slip collected at the ballot box !

So long Phil, did you learn that it is:

Government by the people for the people ?

It is not crony train robbery !

Last post- the prior post wasn't the Enquirer's reporter, Jennifer Edwards-of course they wouldn't have one of their own bashing a Repug. I believe the post was probably Jenny Edwards a local activist.

"bouleg"- you must be Landsman if you're saying Pepper's campaign manager last time was cute.
His campaign manager this time is Jeff Cramerding, who isn't even a Dem, he's Exec. Dir. for Charter party. That oughta tell everyone how much of a true Dem Pepper is (or isn't). I find it hard to believe he couldn't have found a qualified Dem to run his campaign-there are plenty of veterans of good campaigns who are also good Dems.

Cramerding has a very long history with the Dems. Many people are both CHarter and Dems (ie. Marian Spencer). Indeed, many Charterites are more progress than Dems.

Yes, we know that Charters can be Dems-but I once heard Ms. O'Donnell say, in front of Jeff, that she was sorry "we lost him", and I do believe there's a reason he left the fold.

Jennifer Edwards is a journalist for the Enquirer. Jenny Edwards is a Democratic activist. We are not the same person. Perhaps we should team up for an insightful article?!

Come on, who do you think your fooling. It's me your talking to.

You are one and the same. What's the matter are you afraid you are going to loose your job at the w(R)ong wing fishwrap when somebody calls you an activist.

Hell, all their writers are activists. W(R)ong wing activists

That website fought and won your right to free speech:

Hamilton County Republican Party .com

Don't worry jenny we'll get some liberal lawyer to sue the w(R)ong wing rag if you lose your job due to political discrimination !

So, jenny, come on out of the closet.

You are the fishwraps token. Don't deny them their kudos !
