Appointments Aplenty

Cincinnati City Council members, or most of them, agreed Wednesday to appoint these folks to these boards:

Bryn Lewis, Cincinnati Elections Commission; Michaele Pride, planning commission; David Rattenbury, Roger Burdorf, Ginny Corsini and Bill Wildeboer, Lunken Airport Oversight Advisory Board; Hamilton County Coroner Dr. O'dell Owens, Kenton County Airport Board Advisory Committee; and Jacqueline R. Edmerson, reappointed to the Cincinnati Board of Health.

Councilwoman Laketa Cole voted against Rattenbury, Burdorf and Wildeboer (say that three times fast), saying it's her policy to oppose appointments of people who don't live in the city. Mayor Mark Mallory pointed out to her last week that the appointees aren't required to be residents. She said she understood that, but still wanted to be clear that she'd be sticking to her personal policy.

Laketa Cole is quite possibly the biggest idiot in City Clowncil history...and that's saying something.

so- Laketa Cole exacts prior restraint against otherwise qualified AND elegible appointees?

Isn't that disenfranchisement?

So Cole would appoint someone unqualified but living in the city rather than someone who can do the job better than anyone else but does not?

I wonder if Laketa Cole has ever voted to hire an out-of-town firm or consultant?

What a freaking moron!

If there was an I.Q. test for council members, Laketa Cole would come in dead last. She's dumber than a box of rocks.

Ooooh. This is reason 12345 why I never liked Laketa Cole & I have never voted for her. I avoid every opportunity not to address her in any way, & when I do, I grit my teeth in migraine pain.

I say address her because you can't have a sensible conversation with her. She never understands the message one is conveying & she can't process this information to give one a reasonable answer.

I'll be so glad when she's gone & I hope she won't be foolish to run for another political office. This person is not a solid representative for the public's interest at all.

Hopefully, she'll bunk down with Corny Scroggins (I think he paid off his municipal court charges) & keep house, nuke his TV dinners. Goodbye, Laketa!

Hold your horses there, 4:52! Laketa gets to come back for one more bite at the taxpayers apple in 2009 before she takes a (taxpayer-funded) make work job with Dwight Tillery's Center for closing [Dwight's Income] Gap.

Laketa's work history:

2003-present: Taxpayer-supported deadwood (Councilmember)

2001-2003: Taxpayer-supported deadwood (Empowerment Zone Communications Director (Hah! The irony)

1999ish-2001: Taxpayer-supported deadwood (Dwight Tillery's and Paul Booth's Council Aide/door stop)

Been a while since the old girl knew what an honest day's work is wouldn't you say?

They didn't appoint Disgraced Former Staffer Scott Gehring to anything? He seems to have a lot of free time on his hands lately.

You get what you voted for in November (and you'll do it again in '09)

It figures Mayor Zero would chime in.
He says he lives on Dayton Street, but actually lives in Mount Airy.
He is living proof that a declared residence may not be the actual residence.
