THe mainstream press in ths country is too afraid of the Bush White House and their criminal masterminds to say what should be as plain as the nose on your face:

The 2004 election was stolen. It was stolen by the Republican Party and the Bush White House. People like Ken Blackwell should be investigated, prosecuted, and incarcerated for their misdeeds.

Because of their illegitimate ascent to power, they have been able to continue their misrule over the country. 4 more years of Republican Rule has brought us record deficit and debt, a manufactured "foreclosure crisis" because the banks needed to improve their profit margins, record job loss, and the obliteration of our Constitutional freedoms.

We need a special prosecutor or maybe an impartial outside organization like the UN to conduct a tribunal.

The GOP is so unpopular that they can't fix the 2008 election. Look for some sort of "national emergency" to "postpone" the election so they can stay in power.

Nearly half of voting machines tested fail

Montgomery officials tested the 5% of machines that drew complaints; 56 of those 125 machines failed.

By Lynn Hulsey
Staff Writer
Wednesday, March 21, 2007

DAYTON — After two days of tests, the results are in: About 2,500 people cast ballots in November on 56 malfunctioning electronic touch-screen voting machines in Montgomery County, said Steve Harsman, county board of elections director.

He said it is impossible to know how many people finalized their electronic ballots without realizing that the Diebold Elections Systems machines were inaccurately registering their votes. But people had three chances to review their votes before finalizing them, and all the machines accurately tallied the votes that were finalized by voters, Harsman said.

On Tuesday, county election officials completed testing of 125 machines identified in voter complaints collected by Advocates for Basic Legal Equality, which called for the investigation. Some 2,530 voting machines were used in the county on Election Day.

Harsman said several malfunctioning machines were clustered at certain precincts, indicating they may have been damaged during delivery by a trucking company that hauls the machines to the polls.

*********

Extrapolate this to the entire state and you'll see how proprietary source code in voting machines from strongly Republican corporations (Diebold/now Premier-you'll remember then CEO Wally O'Dell promise to deliver Ohio to Bush, and ES & S) could deliver a 'win" to Bush.

BUT!!!! it wasn't just vote flipping that was used. You might recall:

*"Level 10" Lockdown by Homeland Security in Warren County that the FBI never had record of.

*misallocation of machines in high Dem precincts in Franklin + Knox Counties cause waits in line up to 10 hours in the cold pouring rain to vote.

*Lucas County, home of convicted Bush pioneer Tom Noe, whose wife Bernadette Noe was Chair of the Lucas County BOE was also the site of this report from the SOS's office:

REPUBLICAN VOLUNTEERS were allowed UNSUPERVISED ACCESS to UNSECURED BALLOTS prior to the election, as well as this list:

*failure to maintain ballot security
*Inability to implement and maintain a trackable system for voter ballot reconciliation .
*failure to prepare and develop a plan for the processing of the voluminous amount of voter registration forms received.
*issuance and acceptance of incorrect absentee ballot forms.
*manipulation of the process involving the 3% recount.
*disjointed implementation of the Directive regarding the removal of Nader and Camejo from the ballot .
*failure to properly issue hospital ballots in accordance with statutory requirements.
*failure to maintain the security of poll books during the official canvass
*failure to examine campaign finance reports in a timely manner.
*failure to guard and protect public documents.

*Hundreds of thousands of voters PURGED from the voter registration lists.

*Republican challenges of voters.

and of course 153,000 votes that remained uncounted in Ohio thanks to then SOS/Co Chair Bush/Cheney '04-Ken Blackwell.

Did Ohio elect George Bush? We're smarter than that.

The non partisan GAO released a 107 page scathing report on Electronic Voting Machines in our country. The report states that Electronic Voting Machines in the U.S. are NOT SECURE, NOT ACCOUNTABLE, NOT TRANSPARENT, NOT ACCURATE, AND ARE UNCERTIFIABLE. A bipartisan panel which included both Republican Congressman James Sensenbrenner (R-WI) and Democratic Congressman John Conyers (D-MI) released a joint news release (a true rarity in these days of divisive politics) regarding his report, yet the main stream media has ignored it's important findings. Here is a link to the GAO Report:

http://www.gao.gov/highlights/d05956high.pdf

This report, coupled with this following information, needs thorough investigation:

Subject: DIEBOLD ADMITS TO THE GEMS DEFECT

On Oct. 17 2005, an ordinary citizen in Cleveland, Mr. Wright, asked
what may turn out be the most important question of the year.

What is Diebold's explanation, he wanted to know,

for the VBA Script hack of the GEMS central tabulator performed by Dr.
Herbert Thompson?

Black Box Voting has learned that the August 18, 2004
CompuWare Report was hidden from the public by Ohio Secretary
of State Ken Blackwell.

Here is the tampering risk assessment,
which Blackwell had in his hands BEFORE the Nov. 2004 election,
but withheld from both the public and the Election Assistence Commission
(the federal oversight committee charged with ensuring the security of
elections in all states, not just Ohio):

Machine Politics In the Digital Age

IN mid-August, Walden W. O'Dell, the chief executive of Diebold Inc., sat down at his computer to compose a letter inviting 100 wealthy and politically inclined friends to a Republican Party fund-raiser, to be held at his home in a suburb of Columbus, Ohio. ''I am committed to helping Ohio deliver its electoral votes to the president next year,'' wrote Mr. O'Dell, whose company is based in Canton, Ohio.

That is hardly unusual for Mr. O'Dell. A longtime Republican, he is a member of President Bush's ''Rangers and Pioneers,'' an elite group of loyalists who have raised at least $100,000 each for the 2004 race.

But it is not the only way that Mr. O'Dell is involved in the election process. Through Diebold Election Systems, a subsidiary in McKinney, Tex., his company is among the country's biggest suppliers of paperless, touch-screen voting machines.

Warren Co. defends lockdown decision

FBI denies warning officials of any special threat
By Erica Solvig and Dan Horn
Enquirer staff writers

LEBANON - Warren County officials, facing scrutiny of their decision to lock down the administration building on election night, say they were responding to a terrorist threat that ranked a "10" on a scale of 1 to 10.

The information, which Commissioner Pat South said was previously deemed confidential, is coming out a week after the public was barred from viewing the Warren County vote count. The Ohio Secretary of State's office doesn't know of any other county in the state to impose such a restriction.

County officials initially said they feared that having reporters and photographers present could interfere with the ballot counting. They subsequently cited homeland security concerns.

Now, they say an FBI agent told them that Warren County ranked a "10" on a terrorism scale. However, state and federal homeland security officials said Tuesday they were unaware of any specific threat against the county.

Warren County Lockdown was Premeditated!

As it turns out, the Warren County Lockdown was an entirely premeditated act:

FROM 2006:
Free Press uncovers evidence of ballot tampering in Warren County, Ohio
April 19, 2006

After locking out all media observers and declaring a Level 10 Homeland Security Alert, the Republican-dominated Warren County, Ohio reported the vote tally in the wee hours of the morning on November 3, 2004 -- and gave George W. Bush a surprising 14,000 vote boost. Two election workers told the Free Press that the ballots had been diverted to an unauthorized warehouse where they had been possibly stuffed. That is, punched for Bush only. Maps were supplied to the Free Press showing the locations of the warehouse and the Board of Elections.

Warren County officials refused to allow the Columbus Institute for Contemporary Journalism to handle the ballots, but they did allow us to photograph a few. Richard Hayes Phillips, Ph.D., has analyzed the ballots for the Free Press and concluded that there is evidence of fraud in Warren County. The ballots as photographed with Dr. Phillips' commentary below each ballot are included here for the first time.

The Free Press predicted early on that the ballots would be found punched only for Bush in Warren County. The Moss v. Bush lawsuit pointed to Warren, Butler and Clermont Counties as the three counties that provided more than Bush's entire margin in the Buckeye State: Bush won Ohio by 118,000, and 132,000 votes were supplied in these three southwestern Republican counties.

Now, for the first time, the Free Press is releasing images of the obvious election fraud in Warren County. The Free Press will continue its ongoing investigation in Ohio despite stonewalling by Republican state officials. See the images by clicking on the link below.

Why did the Enquirer take over 6 months to run that picture that the Beacon posted? Who are the secret elections specialists that told Carl Weiser that there was no conspiracy in 2004 and why won't he name them?

You can't have private partisan companies secretly counting ballots and expect to have free, fair and transparent elections.

We have public police, public fire departments, public schools and private companies that count our votes. Only in America. Our elections don't meet international standards. We have the best democracy money can buy.

Anonymous 1:51 p.m. -

Lets do this line by line:

*"Level 10" Lockdown by Homeland Security in Warren County that the FBI never had record of.

- There are 2 Republicans and 2 Democrats on each of the County Boards of Elections. Does this mean the 2 Dems were in on it too? How about the fact that it was not DHS that locked them down, but the local Board of Election itself that chose to do so.

*misallocation of machines in high Dem precincts in Franklin + Knox Counties cause waits in line up to 10 hours in the cold pouring rain to vote.

- Machines were allocated based upon the previous election turnout figures. Because turnout was as high as it was, there were long lines in many of the heavily Republican leaning counties as well.

*Lucas County, home of convicted Bush pioneer Tom Noe, whose wife Bernadette Noe was Chair of the Lucas County BOE was also the site of this report from the SOS's office:

REPUBLICAN VOLUNTEERS were allowed UNSUPERVISED ACCESS to UNSECURED BALLOTS prior to the election,

- proof?

as well as this list:

*failure to maintain ballot security
- proof?

*Inability to implement and maintain a trackable system for voter ballot reconciliation.

- Do you not recall that several Democrat leaning groups pushed for this? Do you not remember the lawsuit approximately 3 weeks prior to the election that said any voter can vote at any voting location in the state on a provisional ballot opening the door to massive voter fraud. A ruling that was unanimously turned around by the Ohio Supreme Court just days later. And now you complain about it and site it as "Republican dirty tricks"?

*failure to prepare and develop a plan for the processing of the voluminous amount of voter registration forms received.

- this factors into the actual votes cast and counted how?

*issuance and acceptance of incorrect absentee ballot forms.

- proof? Even if so, when an absentee ballot is sent out there is no telling who is planning on voting for whom.

*manipulation of the process involving the 3% recount.

- proof?

*disjointed implementation of the Directive regarding the removal of Nader and Camejo from the ballot .

- Making the assumption that all those votes would have gone to Kerry? Likely those voting for those 2 would not be Bush voters, but they may have chosen a different candidate or no candidate at all.

*failure to properly issue hospital ballots in accordance with statutory requirements.

- proof?

*failure to maintain the security of poll books during the official canvass

- proof?

*failure to examine campaign finance reports in a timely manner.

- has not a single thing to do with the voting process or counting of the ballots. That job is that of the Federal Election Commission, not a local Board of Election.

*failure to guard and protect public documents.

-proof?

*Hundreds of thousands of voters PURGED from the voter registration lists.

- Many of those voters were illegally placed on the registration lists as it is. Convicted fellons, made up names, duplicates, etc. The proof of these are well known when an individual who was hired by ACORN supplied falsified records and was paid by the liberal leaning group in crack cocaine.

*Republican challenges of voters.

- Democrats were also present and had the ability to challenge voters as well.

and of course 153,000 votes that remained uncounted in Ohio thanks to then SOS/Co Chair Bush/Cheney '04-Ken Blackwell.

- Where are these magical votes? I hear this number thrown about by have yet to see any actual proof of them. And if Ken Blackwell were to have "rigged" an election, would he not have rigged his own election for Governor? He did oversee the voting process in 2006 when the Republicans were beaten. Or did he "allow" that to happen so he could better cover his tracks?

Did Ohio elect George Bush? We're smarter than that.

- Do we still hang on to silly conspiracy theories? We're smarter than.....wait. Apparently we aren't.

To anonymous 2:56pm:

The sad thing is that it was taxpayer billions that went directly to the partisan corporations that supplied the machines that stole our vote. The machines were a way of funneling large amounts of money that in return could "deliver the electoral votes" to pResident Bush.

IT TIME FOR OUR SECRETARY OF STATE TO RECOUP THE TAXPAYERS MONEY FOR THE SALE OF "FAULTY" MACHINES. This money should be used on infra structure, healthcare for all Americans, schools etc.

Ok, 2 things:

1) The FAR more likely answer as to why the Repubs won in 2004 was that they were smart enough to put the gay marriage issue on the ballot thus brining out all of the fundamentalist crazies to vote for Bush.

2) How reliable is this picture? Does anybody else realize that all of the other votes were cast for republicans?

Sorry folks, no conspiracy (yet). They outmaneuvered us in 2004, that is all.

As Moritz law professor Dan Tokaji wrote: "the report is heavy on the technical details on voting technology but light on the real-world consequences of the major changes it proposes."

Brunner executed the study, published the report, and recommended banning DREs. That's all good, but central count, voting centers, and vote by mail are NOT the solution.

If it's possible it will happen even if it hasn't happened yet. Think about the amount of money poured in to lobbying and advertising to win votes, if they can guaruntee outcomes of public votes, I think its just a matter of time before it happens, if it hasn't happened yet. This doesn't even mean national elections, those obviously are going to be a lot harder to pull off some conspiracy, but think of some of the very small issues that only are voted on in a few precints, those are the ones that are the most vulnerable.

Elections are so fundamental to our country I can't imagine people would be against transparency and accuracy, this is not a partisan issue.

All five voting systems used in Ohio, a state whose electoral votes narrowly swung two elections coup d'etats toward President [sic] Bush, have critical flaws that could undermine the integrity of the 2008 general election, a report commissioned by the state’s top elections official has found. The study released Friday found that 'voting' machines and central servers made by Elections Systems and Software; Premier Election Solutions, formerly Diebold; and Hart InterCivic; were easily corrupted.

Election Workers Plead No Contest In Recount-Rigging Case --Workers Rigged 2004 Presidential Recount in Ohio 05 Nov 2007 The case against two elections workers charged with rigging a recount during the 2004 presidential election coup in Cleveland was settled Monday. Prosecutors said Jacqueline Maiden and Kathleen Dreamer rigged the recount to avoid a more thorough hand-count.

'The election was rigged for Bush. The most glaring discrepancies almost always helped Bush and hurt Kerry... Seeing the election results from Cleveland made me a witness to a crime.' Something didn't add up 25 Oct 2007 Former professor Richard Hayes Phillips testified in two lawsuits related to the 2004 'election.' Among the allegations Phillips makes are that voting machines were unfairly withheld from minority, heavily Democratic, precints, leading to long lines and suppressing voter turnout; that in one county, a false Homeland Security alert was given as the reason to lock down the county administrative building and bar independent observers from watching the vote count; ...and that some voters in Democratic-leaning precincts were given ballots already punched for either Bush or a third-party candidate, leading some ballots to be double-punched and, therefore, disqualified.

In Violation of Federal Law, Ohio's 2004 Presidential Election Records Are Destroyed or Missing --In 56 of Ohio's 88 counties, ballots and election records from 2004 have been "accidentally" destroyed, despite a federal order to preserve them -- it was crucial evidence which would have revealed whether the election was stolen. By Steven Rosenfeld 30 Jul 2007 Two-thirds of Ohio counties have destroyed or lost their 2004 presidential ballots and related election records, according to letters from county election officials to the Ohio Secretary of State, Jennifer Brunner. The lost records violate Ohio law, which states federal election records must be kept for 22 months after Election Day...
