Leis didn't like jail contract, but inmates did

Hamilton County is ending its contract to house more than 300 overflow inmates in Butler County's jail. Read the Enquirer story here.

For the record, Sheriff Simon Leis said he never liked the contract to begin with.

"I think it was an outrage what we had to pay for those bed," he said. "I think its way to costly. Like sticking a gun in our back."

He does, however still advocate for a permanent solution in the wake of the defeat of the jail tax.
"I don’t know what the alternative is. It's going to be done through the sales tax, that’s for sure," he said. "But the problem has to be solved by getting beds in Hamilton County."

But some inmates say they like Butler County's jail better anyway, according to Butler County Chief Deputy Anthony Dwyer.

"We get a letter once a month from inmates saying 'This is the best jail I’ve been in and I’ve been in a lot,'" said Dwyer. "Other than visits (because Butler County is so far away) I think they were happier to spent time here."

Si Leis is criminally insane. Can't anyone shut him up?

Every time he opens his mouth, the sales tax solution takes a hit.

Does Si Leis really not know how to properly speaka the English, or do you really not know how to write?

"...had to pay for those bed (sic)"?

"...I think its (sic) way to (sic) much..."?

"We get A (emphasis added) letter once a month from inmateS (emphasis added)..." Co-signers?

Please tell us your salary so we know the going rate for illiteracy (or sub-par typing skills) these days at The Enquirer?

Steno pool, anyone?

What is interesting is that there is little publicity about all the butler county resideents working at their jail who will lose their jobs without hamilton county taxpayer support and the consequences this will have on their budgets.

Leis is such a loser he's not even worth blogging about anymore. Retire already!

When, oh, when, will David Pepper and Todd Portune start investigating these Repugnicant crooks??

The indictments and arrests cannot happen soon enough:

Coingate- everyone who got Noe's doughy needs to be investigated for looking the other way and allowing it to happen

Failure to obey the Supreme Court's order on school funding

Failing to close foster-care law loopholes allowing the placement and murder of Marcus Feisel to occur

Unbid contracts to campaign donors

Payoffs from polluters

Pay to play

At the very least, the Repugnicant Ommissioners should have their tax returns gone over with a fine-tooth comb. Can anyone explain to me how people can become multi-millionaires by making about 50 grand a year?

We can't build that jail fast enough.

Oh, what the hell. Send all the corrupt, bought off Repugnicant politicians to Guantanamo Bay or Abu Ghraib. (tax evasion and corruption can be Federal crimes, too.) The Repugnicants think there's nothing wrong with those places, so let them go there and discover for themselves what "Republican values" mean for those on the receiving end of them.

And if the Democrats in Congress and Columbus had half a spine, they will be investigating the entire Republican political machine from top to bottom and having it closed, padlocked, and fumigated for being a corrupt organization under the RICO statutes.

Get to it guys.

The coffee is on me.

Rather, it would be on me if the corrupt, bought-off Repugnicant politicians hadn't robbed me blind.

Methinks that your Dems are a little too busy covering their own tracks....

Just funny how there are still people gullable enough to think that one party has a monopoly on shady dealings...

Just amazing.
