From The Mayor's Weekly Briefing

UPDATE, for those who questioned the mayor's residency: Mallory insisted today that he lives in both his houses, on Dayton Street in the West End, and in Mt. Airy.

Here's what Mayor Mark Mallory offered today at his regular 2 p.m. Tuesday talk with reporters:

1. "My team" is definitely going to win the Crosstown Shootout. He, of course, was trying to be funny, given that he attended both the University of Cincinnati and Xavier University. Get it? Whichever team wins would be his alma mater.

2. Council members shouldn't be proposing major new ideas - like the red-light cameras to catch more speeders - during this budget process because it's supposed to be time only to update the policies that were set out last year. If some want to propose the cameras, they should do it in next year's budget cycle.

3. Re the controversy Monday at finance committee over the police department not spending all the $2.7 million given it for walking patrols this year: "As mayor, my goal is to see to it that crime is reduced. And the police department did that. I think it's a win-win."

4. Visit the Hauck House museum, on Dayton Street in the West End (where the mayor lives). "I think this is a great Cincinnati institution. It's a great piece of Cincinnati history." And The Taft's pretty cool too.

5. Go Nick Lachey! The Cincinnati boy is one of the directors for NBC's new reality show, Clash of the Choirs. "We're certainly going to be watching it and cheering Nick on."

6. He taped a Crosstown Shootout promo to be aired on ESPN before the game. It was another opportunity, he said, to talk about Cincinnati to a national audience.

7. The chocolates at Marble Hill Chocolatier in O'Bryonville are fantastic. The place will be featured on an upcoming Black Enterprise Business Report.

Good grief.

Someone -- anyone -- please run against this guy in two years. What a twit.

He is definitely a twit. Any leader content to sit the sidelines in a mjor public initiative deserves to sit out int he political game altogether.

As for the ESPN promo: prediction- Mallory will take a shot a free throw and miss the whole backboard by a mile.

This type of funny interest in the city is a good promotion - but he isn't paid to be JUST a local joke

Council members shouldn't be proposing major new ideas
We go to our council members because the Mayor doesn't know how to do some work.

"As mayor, my goal is to see to it that crime is reduced.
Well, get busy! You've been in office 2 years & we're still waiting for a safe, liveable city. Remember? The one you promised the voters. I realize in your world, you don't live in crime. You've got a bodyguard. However, if that lady who called it out at Monday night's Budget public hearing, your bodyguard days are numbered. That lady was the only one who had backbone enough to call it out - thanks, lady!

Someone, anyone! Run against this guy. Please, I'm begging you. I'll vote for you 3,4,5,6 times to make sure this Mallory doesn't get in there again! Help!!!

Mallory is the second-most useless person in City Hall. Right after Chris "Ice Cream Boy" Monzel.

Show some backbone! The police chief is laughing at the Mayor, who throws money at him for overtime (even $900K again this year) and then applauds him for ignoring that same directive last year.

Crime is only down because last year was the WORST YEAR ON RECORD FOR HOMICIDES. City Hall and the CPD should stop celebrating, and should start pushing to get us back to the pre-riot days where we were a safe city.

Who was that "Mark" guy again? Is he from around here?

Jane,
The Mayor and his parents moved to Mt. Airy in College Hill 5 years ago. They own property in the West End BUT DO NOT LIVE THERE ANYMORE.

Please do not be starry eyed in the presence of perceived power.

Please stop printing myth.

Lord have Mercy! Please get rid of this fruitcake. If this is all important items he could speak of ... again, Lord have Mercy!

This shows why I NEVER voted for him. Get him out of office. Let us figure out a way to get rid of him now.

Mayor 'Zero' is the ultimate empty suit. Mayor 'Zero' always seems to be leaving Cincinnati for a business junket or just arriving from abroad. Hmmm..first time that the Mayor has been mentioned with a broad in recorded history.

Ba-Da-Boom!
Thank you, I'll be here all week! Try the chicken!

Mallroy is, of course, a joke.

He had the worst year of crime ever and now brags about it just getting to epidemic levels. Maybe he should ask students at UC.

Hell he won't stand up to Streicher...he won't stand up to anyone.

Zero.

How about Mallory's shot at Qualls and her red light cameras.

Let the campaign begin! Go Roxanne, Go. Rid of us this idiot.

The statement of "he lives in both his houses " is not ridiculous, but can be construed as such. His name is only on ONE residence when you check trusty Dusty's web site.

Running for Mayor he and his campaign team quietly sanctioned the skewering of the Reece family residences (yes, one was out of the city, but Alicia spent most of her time at the City Address -- even her enemies and Chairman Burke knew this) but they had to offer a facade in the form of Nate Livington from the backroom at Lawson Law Offices & JuneBug Beatty's BarBQue emporium/ shooter's world.

They get mail at 907, seen there few times a month. Specially holidays for few hours. Moved cause afraid of what was being dropped on door step by one of their children's involvements in the local area. Sorry to bust ya bubble Jane, you just got gamed by not doing homework.
