Oddest story of the political season so far...

Cincinnati City Council candidate Brian Garry Friday won his bid to seal court records related to a 2003 acquittal on a misdemeanor charge of obstructing justice for hitting a police horse.

Sherry Coolidge reports the story here

Leave it to the 'fishwRap' to invade the privacy of sealed records !

What public good do you serve violating someone's civil rights ?

This is horse 'schmidt" !

Typical wRong wingnut whackos !

HAD ENOUGH, VOTE GARRY 2007 !

This is exactly the kind of hack journalism that distracts from the important issues and degrades the entire democratic process.
Shame.

Brian Garry must be a UC grad - they're known for assaulting horses over there.

Did anyone else notice that Garry has "crazy eyes" in the Enquirer-supplied photo? Garry certainly looks the part of a horse-punching liberal nutjob with those peepers!

This guy couldn't be elected dogcatcher, let alone councilman, in conservative Hamilton County. Move to San Franfreako with all the other crazy democrat degenerates, Garry. You might get elected out there on the Left Coast, but not in our town.

One more for the documented record books. Look for the federal civil rights violation suit. Coming soon. Pehaps by Nov. 18 with the 'fishwRap' as defendant. Political bias will be easy to prove.

Did you go through Garry's voter file, as well ?

Did you out his right to speak anonymous ?

"San FranFreako?" The Dude, wake up and enter the 21st Century, please.

No wonder Cincinnati has such a poor national reputation with backward thinking like that.

It only makes sense that bold type guy wants to vote for Garry. Go hug a tree and Garry can continue punching police officers.

The only reason that Garry was endorsed was because the Dems needed to have a full slate of candidates.

I vote Dem--always have--but I can't stand the guy. He's an embarrassment to the Party.

Guy = gender bias ?

Typical wRong wingnut whacko spewing the elephant dung, "schmidty", propaganda !

We will hug a tree !

It is imperative for our survival !

You are not !

Punch a cop: horse schmidt !

You clearly demonstrated that you are totally clueless to the facts !

wRong !

You obviously do not know the candidate !

He stood alone in federal court fighting the wRong wingnut whackos for free speech and prevailed !

We'll accept him with pride !

Have you fought for the right to speak freely ?

We think not !

PATHETIC !

HAD ENOUGH:

VOTE NO, on the 'fanatical five' !

VOTE, for a real, DEMOCRAT 2007 and Jeffre !

The Dem's should be ashamed of themselves for endorsing Garry. It's a shame the controversy over Berding's endorsement prevented a debate over endorsing a guy who was a leader in the boycott movement in Cincinnati and is a Rev. McKrackin disciple.

Does Rev. McKrackin = Rev. McCrackin ?

The clueless, use-less idiot of the NAZI party (tnp) tries to conceal the truth, even about his own idenity !

Yet continues to spew, the easily identifiable, 'schmidty' elephant dung propaganda !

Rev. McCrackin has done more in one day than you will do in a lifetime, PERIOD !

Certainly, the goose-stepping wRong wingnut whackos invoke their vile, racist, NAZI (tnp) hate in support of their crony phonies !

If the company one keeps is an indication of their character, then: Brian Garry is to be honored !

PATHETIC HypocRites !

I'm sure that the horse punching charge was made up by the officer just so that he had an excuse to arrest Garry and bringing up a story about a charge of which he was acquitted isn't really good journalism.

That said, Garry needs to go away. Anybody who supported the boycott (and did so with the fervor of Garry) has no place governing our city. It shows a complete lack of large policy issues and a willingness to support weak causes and well intentioned ideas that are (at best) counterproductive.

His is NOT the voice that we need on city council. We are having problems getting them to work together as it is so adding such a delusional, divisive voice is a terrible idea.

Vote Dem...just not Garry.

Horse 'schmidt' !

It was the boycott that brought parties to the table !

Money corrupts and no change is made until the pocket book is hit !

Thus, labor strike, etc.

You seem to have bought the wRong wingnut whacko boycott propaganda !

PATHETIC !

HAD ENOUGH:

Vote for GARRY, other real DEMOCRATS 2007 and JEFFRE!

Garry has learned a lot and come a long way since his acquittal. Though he has been divisive in his methods in the past, Garry has improved his presentation and matured. Brian is now a thoughtful and articulate candidate. I know that he will bring a strong positive voice to council. Drop in to your neighborhood Candidate night and see the change for yourself.

Wow, we thought Garry would make an excellent candidate based on his advocacy, but, did you see him on Channel 12 Newsmakers !

He had facts, figures and ran circles around the wRong wingnut whacko from Pleasant Ridge !

All the wRong wingnut whacko had to offer was the phony gizzy lizzy promise to lower council pay rate !

Yell, wRong !

Fool us once !

GARRY is formidable !

We have suggested to vote for him and after hearing him speak we think everyone should take that vote they were going to give to the 'fanatical five' and instead:

VOTE GARRY !

Little Garry could be the real foot-tapping bold typist.

at 12:22 PM, September 24, 2007 Anonymous Anonymous said...

Brian, like many, supported the boycott because it was a last resort in trying to get many issues addressed and resolved by a City Council that couldn't have cared less.

I hope you're not voting for Cranley whose disrespect, immaturity, unprofessionalism and lack of empathy contributed to the sense of helplessness (under his watch beginning with Jeffrey Iron's death) and culminating with Cranley's incitement of the riots (not excusing those) by his disgraceful actions during his Law & Public Safety Committee meeting in April, 2001?

Brian's conscious compelled him to support the boycott as a means to and end. You & I can disagree as to the nobility of that but he has a hell of lot more personal integrity and courage of his convictions than most of the Democrat ticket.

The link is still broken.

And yes, Garry has matured and evolved considerably as an active citizen, as the above commenter pointed out. Anyone who saw him on WKRC's Newsmakers would have noticed this.

And the horse punching charge was fabricated and preposterous. The police made the exact same charge against someone else several months prior to Garry. Unfortunately for the police, someone videotaped the whole thing which showed the person to be innocent and proved the police fabricated the whole story.

George W. Bush is more likely to read Heidegger than Garry is to punch a horse. The police are lucky they weren't sued (but too stupid to realize it).

Please, of the fifteen who died, 12 either had or used weapons on the police. The others were either fleeing or resisting.

I'm not saying that there was no fault on the side of the police officers, but there was SIGNIFICANT contributory fault by the victims. The contributory fault was never mentioned by the boycott supporters.

Garry et al blamed the city exclusively when there was plenty of blame to go around. We don't need someone who buys into this culture of victimhood on city counsel.

Policy decisions need to be made by those who are bright enough to recognize nuance and broader goals. Garry is not one of those people.

The poor were not hurt in the boycott, they were still poor !

The police were not hurt during the boycott they still continued their racist policy of guilty while walking black, poor, homeless, etc.

The wRong wingnut whackos continued to steal workers compensation funds, continued to deters the cheater laundry campaign funds, etc.

The only people hurt were wRong wingnut whackos as the voters sent them down the river in chains !

Um...that is insane. Services to the poor are provided by tax dollars. Tax dollars are raised by businesses and residents who aren't scared to live in the city.

Boycotting the city and hurting the businesses thereby creating conditions where the wealthy take their tax dollars to the suburbs actually hurt the poor of the city.

It doesn't take a sophisticated understanding of policy to see that.

Nice quote of my post though. At least you have a sense of humor.

Oh, and FYI, I'm a Dem.

OK, bird-ling and their cole-aberators, now we get the picture.

Just because you can't keep a commission based campaign manager, don't think for one minute you can slam your way back onto council !

Trying to elbow your way on stage again, hey !

BFG,

Just because I'm not a bleeding heart does not mean that I am a DINO. Just like not being a clinic-bombing gun-nut doesn't make someone a RINO.

Not all Dems buy into the culture of victimization and questioning my affiliation because I don't share your (or Garry's) fringe views is insane.

Much like Garry, you have gone beyond embarrassing yourself and now you are embarrassing the Party.

Real Dems stand up for those who work hard but are unable to bargain for better conditions. Real Dems recognize that businesses play an important role in the community but they should not be able to exploit the community.

Real Dems don't buy into "entitlement" theories. Real Dems don't make excuses for those who refuse to help themselves. Real Dems aren't afraid of personal responsibility.

Garry is a DINO. His views are far too extreme to fall under the umbrella of the Party.
