Schmidt attacked in ads - UPDATED

The Democrat-leaning, anti-war group Americans United for Change plans to announce tomorrow that it's launching a more than a quarter of a million dollar effort to hold Republicans like Rep. Jean Schmidt of Miami Township accountable for continuing to support what the group calls "the president’s costly, irresponsible and failed policy of endless war in Iraq."

The ads will begin running in the Cincinnati market tomorrow: WXIX (Fox 19), WLWT (NBC 5), WCPO (ABC 9), WKRC (CBS 12).

Basically, they slam Schmidt over comments that Republican Leader John Boehner made on the Situation Room earlier this month.

Here is the full text of what Blitzer asked and how Boehner responded:

BLITZER: Mr. Leader, here's the question. How much longer will U.S. taxpayers have to shell out $2 billion a week or $3 billion a week as some now are suggesting the cost is going to endure? The loss in blood, the Americans who are killed every month, how much longer do you think this commitment, this military commitment is going to require?

BOEHNER: I think General Petraeus outlined it pretty clearly. We're making success. We need to firm up those successes. We need to continue our effort here because, Wolf, long term, the investment that we're making today will be a small price if we're able to stop al Qaeda here, if we're able to stabilize the Middle East, it's not only going to be a small price for the near future, but think about the future for our kids and their kids.

This is a very important effort on the part of the United States to secure our national interests and to secure our security interests, especially when it comes to al Qaeda, who has been our number one enemy here in Iraq.
Read the whole transcript of the show HERE.

According to Americans United for Change, the families of the over 3,780 U.S. soldiers that have been killed in Iraq and the tens of thousands of soldiers that have suffered severely debilitating injuries might disagree with Boehner that “a small price” has been paid.

The group says that Boehner’s remarks are "emblematic of just how out of touch Republicans are with the real costs of this war."

Schmidt's office did not comment on the ad.

Boehner's press secretary, Jessica Towhey, had this to say:

“Congressman Boehner’s remark referred to the monetary investment we've made to ensure our security and bring stability to a troubled region. Congressman Boehner deeply appreciates the sacrifices made by our troops and their families. Last week while in Iraq, he met with Ohio soldiers to thanks them for their service.

“On Tuesday Boehner met with five Ohio families whose sons had died in Iraq. These families came to thank Mr. Boehner for his commitment to supporting the effort in Iraq because these families are committed to winning and they want to know that the sacrifice their sons made in Iraq was worth something.”

First, he started on a country road in Adams County. He talked with one person at a time...

Then he went door to door in Pike and Scioto County and talked with one person at a time... And then he WON the land of Ted Strickland unexpectedly and created an impression that will last in the minds of some people forever... Because he not only tried to represent those people as their Congressman, he loved them...

Then his former Congressman was called a coward on the floor of the House of Representatives in front of millions of people... and his Congresswoman became famous overnight and he kept talking with one person at a time...

He tried to end a war...

He tried to save Medicare... He said, "I am on a mission to save Medicare"... and then he won the hearts of thousands of senior citizens and baby boomers who live in his district...

He tried to become a voice for the elderly, the sick and the poor... because he loves them...

And he kept talking with one person at a time...

Then he went to churches and restaurants and barbershops and breakrooms from Waverly and Portsmouth all the way to Cincinnati and kept talking with one person at a time...

And he listened... and he believed... and he kept on until the very end...

Changing his country one person at a time...

Thank you all so much.

That is a very powerful ad. Boehner should be ashamed of himself for saying that over 3,780 American lives are a "small price." If Jean Schmidt had any decency at all, she'd condemn Boehner's repulsive remarks.

Speaking of Boehner, the Enquirer should ask him why he found it so difficult to take a stand on the recent FDA bill (which passed on an overwhelming 405-7 vote). Boehner was one of only 20 who refused to vote Yea or Nay.

And he calls himself a "leader"? What a joke.

The global war against radical Islam will require decades of military, financial, religious and diplomatic conflict before it's finally ended. The fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan and elsewhere is merely one local part of the global struggle. Wherever we are facing the thugs and murderers of Islamofascism, we must defeat them.
And we can't defeat them by retreating in the middle of the war. They attacked us, we're at war and we must be victorious. Our good Congresswoman, Jean Schmidt, understands the awful task and the terrible price involved. But unlike the cowardly, la-la left in this country and in Europe, she is tough enough to insist on doing what must be done. I admire her for it.

THANK GOD, Malia! I woke up this morning... HOPING that there'd be another anti-Schmidt piece from you. I was surprised the headline wasn't "Schmidt Arrives at Work Early," "Schmidt Sneezes in Public", or "Schmidt Caught Taping Jets' Defensive Signals."

Come on Malia! For all the crap you lay on Jeanie about "plaigarism" this article looks an awful lot like AUC's press release... dun dun DUNNNNN!!!!

Have you ever thought about actually reporting on legislation or bills that Davis, Chabot, Schmidt and Boehner vote on?

Bold type loser: that's PATHETIC!

HAD ENOUGH? DON'T READ THE ENQUIRER! Read The Onion instead... at least there you know everything is meant to be funny.

NO matter how much groups like this spend, we all know that as long as the Democrats continue to throw up losers like Wulsin, or even no-name candidate Steve Black, Jean Schmidt will continue to win.

Another 'schmidty' deal:

End the National Frozen Foods Labour Dispute and Investigate Child Labour Violations

Protesters support National Frozen Foods workers.
National Frozen Foods employees at its facilities in Chehalis, Washington, USA have been represented by the Teamsters since 1945.

Since 2004, these workers have made concessions in the form of pay cuts of up to 16%, the loss of seasonal health care benefits, the loss of retiree health care benefits, and increases in the number of qualifying hours for health care, pension benefits, and pay increases. The concessions have disproportionately hurt those who can least afford them - particularly Hispanic workers, seasonal workers, and newly-hired workers. Approximately 45 percent of National Frozen Foods workers in Chehalis, Washington are women.

The Washington State Department of Labor and Industries is investigating complaints of numerous child labor violations at National Frozen Foods' facilities in Chehalis; Complaints include working minors through the night, using minors to operate machinery, denying minors legally mandated meal breaks and forcing minors to work at work stations prohibited by child labor laws.

National Frozen Foods employees at Chehalis are represented by Teamsters Local 252 located at 217 E. Main St., Centralia, Washington 98531, Mike Mauermann, Secretary-Treasurer, 360) 736-9979 .

Perhaps 'schmidt' could use child labor at her new NUKE dump in Portsmouth ?

PATHETIC !

HAD ENOUGH, VOTE DEMOCRAT 2007 !

Once again, the use-less idiot, dude, of the NAZI party (tnp) goose-stepping to that 'schmidty' elephant dung propaganda !

We wonder why the pansies utilizing the colon rink-a-dink-an elephant dew cleanser don't park there 'schmidty' butt in IRAQ, with a rifle, instead of hanging out at Ferrari's ?

Perhaps, cowardly 'cut and rum' !

We have your IP address !

We know all the (tnp) 'schmidty' party members. Take a look in network places for the new frontier !

HAD ENOUGH, VOTE DEMOCRAT 2007! Yes I have had enough. I've had enough of all of the right wing wackos in this area. Yes I will vote and I will only support DEMOCRATES. How anyone could continue to support the Republican party or ANY politicians who supports this illegal war truely makes me sick to my stomach. Having been fortunate enough to to deprogram myself from the right wing cultural bigots years ago, I must say it's kind of fun watching the demise of the GOP and other local lossers like schmidt. While I will admit that we do live in an area where there seems to be a lot of GOP supporters let me also ad, it doesn't matter. In 2006 the Democrates gained a slim majority in Congress. Currently, their approval rating is at 11%. While I may not be happy with their lack of progress in ending the war, they continue to try, unlike the previous Republican congress that didn't care or try. Face it the GOP is DEAD.

HAD ENOUGH, VOTE DEMOCRAT 2007! keep up the good work and don;t let the local freaks (GOP) get to you - there mostly over 60 and fat.

Despite my good work and cogent comments, the general level of discourse on this blog is slip-sliding away thanks to the shrill, degenerate and cowardly voices of the hopeless left. OBL's most recent videos sound like they were scripted by the DNC. Could there be collusion?

Louis, you're probably wasting your time trying to point out facts to people like TNP. He prefers propaganda and spewing partisan bs. Facts do not enter into any of his arguments. Logic is completely lost on him. Some people are beyond hope and enlightenment. TNP is a perfect example.

Hey TNP, what's the Downing Street memo? Who was Hussein Kamel and what did he tell the CIA in 1995 about Saddam's WMD program? Why did Colin Powell and Condi Rice say "Saddam was contained and in a box" (they said it on videotaped interviews earlier in 2001) prior to the false flag event known as 9/11.

TNP, explain how the following events could have occurred:

As your own eyes witness — WTC Building #7 (a 47 story high-rise not hit by an airplane) exhibits all the characteristics of a classic controlled demolition with explosives:

1. Rapid onset of “collapse”

2. Sounds of explosions at ground floor - a full second prior to collapse (heard by hundreds of firemen and media reporters)

3. Symmetrical “collapse” – through the path of greatest resistance – at free-fall speed — the columns gave no resistance

4. Squibs, or “mistimed” explosions, at the upper 7 floors seen in the network videos

5. “Collapses” into its own footprint – with the steel skeleton broken up for shipment

6. Massive volume of expanding pyroclastic dust clouds

7. Tons of molten Metal found by CDI (Demolition Contractor) in basement (no other possible source than an incendiary cutting charge such as Thermate)

8. Chemical signature of Thermate (high tech incendiary) found in slag, solidified molten metal, and dust samples by Physics professor Steven Jones, PhD.

9. FEMA finds rapid oxidation and intergranular melting on structural steel samples

10. Expert corroboration from the top European Controlled Demolition professional

11. Fore-knowledge of “collapse” by media, NYPD, FDNY

And exhibited none of the characteristics of destruction by fire, i.e.

1. Slow onset with large visible deformations

2. Asymmetrical collapse which follows the path of least resistance (laws of conservation of momentum would cause a falling, to the side most damaged by the fires)

3. Evidence of fire temperatures capable of softening steel

4. High-rise buildings with much larger, hotter, and longer lasting fires have never “collapsed”.

The above questions are posted from Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth at www.ae911truth.org. View the 3-part video lecture/presentation or the PowerPoint presentation.

I'll be waiting for your explanations TNP. Don't disappoint me.

The true fools fail to see that we are engaged in a life and death struggle with a worldwide, decentralized terror network, that elements of that network pulled off the 9/11 catastrophes, that additional elements of that same network are presently trying to destroy the legitimate governments of Iraq and Afghanistan and that the network has tentacles in Iran, Syria, Sudan, Pakistan and elsewhere which eventually we will have to confront and defeat either militarily or politically or both.
The recent successful Israeli air attacks against suspected Syrian nuclear storage areas was a pale preview of what's in store for Ahmadinejad and the Iranian military. It won't be pretty, but it will be thorough--and quick.

Cincy911, I was hoping you and your cockamaymee conspiracy theories had retired. But like a bad penny, you keep turning up.
Any time now, I guess I can expect you to start detailing UFO involvement in the 9/11 disasters in cooperation with the Illuminati, the CFR, the Masons and Wicca. Get real.

Fred will beat Shrillary-Hillary-Billary, AKA Her Thighness, AKA Mrs. Bill Clinton, particularly if he chooses Rudy as his running mate to draw off some of Hellery Rotten Clintstone's NY voters.

I'm signing off. You hopeless lefties are depressingly trite with your sarcastic rejoinders. I'll find someone with some brains to argue politics with.

TNP is right on most issues, but his head is so far up Jean Schmidt's rear end that he can't think straight or see clearly anymore. It's one thing to like your Congressman, but TNP takes it to such ridiculous extremes that he undermines his case.......just like the neutered bold blogger undermines the far left viewpoints he thinks he's promoting.

Salt, I react with such vehemence to attacks against Congresswoman Jean Schmidt because I think very nearly all of them are unwarranted, unnecessary and way over the top. In political give and take, I believe in fighting fire with fire. But to accuse me of being in the same kooky, "special needs" class with BS in Bold is a low blow, much more indicative of your own lack of judgement. When the heated, sarcastic and often grossly expressed (i.e., "his head is so far up..." etc.) anti-Jean spin and cant lightens up and assumes a rational, informed level of discourse, I will rise to the occasion. Until then, the damned dem/libs and the weird COAST and Libertarian strange-ohs who persist in mocking and dissing my Congresswoman deserve the belligerence I do my best to heap upon them. And I won't apologize for it.

Anonymous at 11:46 am, 9/25, I won't get a chance to vote yea or nay on that issue. I see the need for additional jail space. As I understand it, that's why the Sheriff so strongly favors the tax increase. But from what I can tell it appears that the tax increase is an attempt to kill a fly with a hammer, because it would provide a whole lot more revenue than is needed for the jail alone. I'm in favor of more jail space, assuming that what I've read is accurate and it's needed. But I'm against additional taxes, because I believe Hamilton County is already very heavily taxed, and new taxes would drive more businesses and residents out of the county further reducing tax revenues for years to come.
