We hope he has the spine to abandon the death penalty !

While the revenge of some may be deserving, state sponsored death is for the barbaric !

Hey lets hang them like they do in Iraq? Or we could start cutting off haqnds and tar and feathering.
I for one have had enough of these barbaric behaviors.

Besides, Christ died for all of our sins so that we can be forgiven - who wants to thwrt Jesus Christ Our Saviour's sacrifice.

Either we are pro life or not - it is God's duty to take and give life - not some court.

Strickland should put a hold on all death penalties until 1) a study has been done to assure fairness, 2) the court has determined in lethal injection is "humane" and 3) until Jesus Christ has returned.

And can we assume if Gov Strickland is pro-life for criminals then he is pro-life for the innocent babies killed every day in this state? They are killed without the benefit of a lawyer, judge or jury. Where is their appeals process? If they are deemed in utero to be mentally retarded then are they spared the "death penalty" by the abortionists?

since life starts shortly after birth, not at conception, we can simplify the issue tremendously and not include abortion.

now that that is out of the way, the next step in society maturing is to do away with the death penalty as bold faced blogger so noted.

sadly, we are not a mature society, just witness the number of people with kooky religous beliefs. i would hypothesis that if strickland had made an issue of this during the election that rosa blackwell might well be the first lady of the state.

Please provide scientific or medical evidence that life does NOT begin at conception. I thought progressives were in favor of science. Oh yeah -- only if it supports your own theories (not yet proven ideas) for embryonic stem cell research curing all existing diseases and maladies; global warming (even though the base temps from 100 years ago are questionable); and, the creation of our universe. Take a look at a couple of National Geographic programs currently running (human and animal life in utero) and then decide when life truly begins. The only difference between an in utero baby and and one allowed to be born at nine months is the level of maturation. I will support the demise of the death penalty when we no longer allow legal murder of innocents and when the courts have mandatory life without possibility of parole sentencing.
