Watchful waiting in Warren County
Jacob Dirr reporting:
After stirring controversy in 2004, the Warren County Board of Elections is being closely watched this year.
During the presidential election, Warren County officials locked down the county administration building on election night and blocked anyone from observing the vote count, citing concerns about potential terrorism.
This year, the Democrats have a lawyer here all evening. They will also have two observers.
Media still are not allowed inside the room where ballots are tallied, but they can watch through an "observation window" that’s so new they haven't painted over the drywall mud yet.
