In two years the Enquirer editorial board are going to look really stupid after Jean Schmidt says or does something stupid (again) to embarrass Ohio. That is if the voters are stupid enough to put her back into office.

I'd rather have a carpetbagger representing me that a constant, perpetual liar like Mean Jean dumb-Schmidt.

It's getting so bad she can't tell the difference between her lies and the truth.

This is the perfect chance for Joe Deters and Si Leis to show that they are tough on crime no matter what. Both have a reputation for looking the other way when Republicans commit crimes.

Go arrest Bob McEwen for voter fraud. Do it now. Do it today.

He probably goes to church on Sunday. He'll probably want to stop back at his little two-bedroom hovel and change clothes with Liz, his four kids, Pat Nixon, and whoever else lives there.

The address he claims is 7382 Ridgepointe Drive #7. That is in Anderson Twonship 45230.

You can also ask the unemployed fat guys hanging around his campaign office. They'll get so scared they might spit out their donuts if Si and his boys showed up there.

At the very least, guys, McEwen is going to have a "rally" on Tuesday night at Ferarri's in Madeira. If you need help finding the place, I am sure Michelle Schneider will be glad to assist.

Regal

The sun crowns over your eastern hills,
Cincinnati crisp and clear, already morning when we see you,
red, white, pink, dark and light blue colors the Dawn,
a beautiful stern Queen smiles,
fully dressed her Water bracelet Sparkles.

Old and meek your river rises and bends,
waltzing slowly by,
you’re it's finest dance floor,
as movements of peace grow stronger,
listens to your children's joyful dance.

Bridging the Voids,
smiles of your children,
a beauty that is one within you,
using as their guide,
ever rolling laughter.

West your winds always enter,
strong and steady,
wishing they could stay,
but unmoved by others who come and go,
you love only those who remain.

Understood by others,
is not your concern,
life goes on,
as an undistracted Queen,
who Loves only her Royal Children.

Your adopted and maternal sons
blend ever so hard here,
but in time you embrace them all as one,
as they labor hard,
wanting only the best for our tomorrows.

Songs are still being loudly sung,
they fill your air as children sing in rhyming rhythm,
their songs are filled with faith,
they believe because it’s all they have,
perfect Unity is never far away.

Your stories are still being told,
angels of hope turn your pages,
children of wonder search your glory,
leading the way are we and they,
as a nation can only watch and sneer.

Always Forgiven…
are your Children,
they search For Justice and Peace,
understanding truth as a never seen but felt mystery,
and sometimes that hurts.

Cincinnati Hope!
Hope because you are the Shining City on the river,
Hope because you are ten years ahead in brotherhood,
You want the best for Your Royal Children,
And With Children is where your Children begin.

The river bends,
bowing out only to your glory,
humbly it must go on,
without a bad word spoken,
Cincinnati’s humility… is Cincinnati’s pride.

Young ladies so light and silent,
Young boys who playfully tease,
A man who works hard with his head and hands,
A woman who moves light and lovely,
Is your soul... Cincinnati!

Don’t despair, Your time has come,
Your Children Labor Hard for love and truth,
they are the wild flowers eager to celebrate,
they are rising and blooming full… Jewels of the land,
Cincinnati, you are imperial to me!

Sincerely,

Peter Deane

Peter Dean's attempt at poetry is as wildly dreaming as the Enqueer's endorsements.

Buckwheat Blackwell is a joke to our state. A political hack who attempted to suppress his own race vote by claiming their registrations invalid due to the weight of paper it is printed on. All this in the electronic age ?

Additionally, the tide of the state supports integrity with rightful preference for Strickland !

Dunn, would serve the state better and the tide of the state is on the side of integrity and the fact that he initiated suit speaks to the spinal fortitude necessary to turn this state around !

Nothing can be said about their 2nd district endorsement for it speaks for itself. Full of Schmidt !

The wrong wing rag is shameless and only serves well in the Out house !

thoughts? Your paper is a national joke for endorsing Jean Schmidt. Not once, but twice, now.

Mr. Weiser - Since the Enquirer endorsed Dr. Vic Wulsin, does the paper intend to report on her participation in ongoing illegal AIDS human subjects research in Africa conducted by the Heimlich Institute at Deaconess?

This story was reported in November 2005 in the national press. The Enquirer published this Sunday front page article in 2003 about similar human experiments by the Heimlich Institute in China. That story ended up in the New York Times, the LA Times, Reuters, and in dozens of other papers.

Why was this front page Cincinnati news then, but not now?

Phil Heimlich is the longtime vice president of the Heimlich Institute and has to know the facts about this illegal research.

On this blog and on Tom Callinan's ex-blog, the Enquirer has been repeatedly accused of giving cover to Phil Heimlich. Reporting this story would be a good way to counter those accusations.

It's too bad the Enquirer Editorial page didn't have the integrity to admit they made a mistake last year when endorsing Jean Schmidt. Since becoming a Member of Congress, she has embarrassed the district time and time again, alienated her colleagues, falsified endorsements from fellow Members, and hired a liberal Democratic attorney to file frivilous charges against her opponent.

Before last year's special election, I didn't think much of either McEwen or Schmidt. But in the months since then, Bob McEwen has proven he is the better candidate. He has conducted himself and his campaign in a much more dignified manner than Schmidt. While Schmidt has alienated her colleagues and disrespected voters across this district such as the Anderson Twp GOP club, McEwen has worked hard to maintain ties with his old contacts and build relationships with new ones (like me).

Last year I couldn't have told you who I preferred between these two. But their conduct since then leaves no doubt that McEwen is the better candidate. I was willing to spend the last 9 months learning new things about each candidate. Why couldn't the Enquirer have done the same?

Ken Blackwell has been a disaster as Secretary of State. He has played the media well, but insiders who work at Boards of Election across the state know how he has dramatically adversely effected elections in the state. He chose in the last Presidential election to change -- through directives -- how boards operated mid-stream. Then as Ohio changed voting systems, he tried to certify only one company -- one company that we now learn he had stock in -- for Ohio boards to select their equipment. He and his staff are behind in almost every area of running elections -- except when spinning the press for himself. We do not need to go from one minimally bad governor to a self-serving truly bad administrator.

This concerns your endorsement of Victoria Wulsin in the Democratic race -

The Enquirer editorial board was thoughtful enough to pick the Democrat with the least chance of winning back the now mostly Republican-voting "Reagan Democrats."

Dr. Wulsin would no doubt make a wonderful Representative -- for some other Congressional District - and that district probably not even in Ohio. (Try New York, California, a few districts in Florida.)

This is the home of the "Right to Life" movement, and the Editorial Board knows it.

For the Democrats to have any hope for this seat -- they need to find a candidate who at least somewhat reflects the Pleasantville-USA conservative sensibilities of Southwestern Ohio

So, did anyone else read the story "Candidate's Past Job as Eritrean Lobbyist Causes Controversy" in the Cleveland Plain Dealer? Why did the Enquirer miss this story?

I can't believe a man that claims to be an Evangelical Christian would sell his conscience and be paid up to $120,000 by a country that persecutes christians. He says that he lobbied on behalf of a peaceful Ethiopian Border, then why wasn't he working on behalf of the US, not on behalf of the Eritrean govt? How disgusting.

I hope that the Enquirer looks into this.

What a poor and sad political attempt by an earlier post who wanted Si Leis to arrest Bob McEwen. That is not going to happen and there is no reason for it to happen. Schmidt hired a Democratic Lawyer to help spread this non-story. He went on 700 wlw and said alot of things that were not true. Later that afternoon Bob anwsered all of Bill Cunninghams questions and in a 10 minute period he totally knocked down all of these charges. In fact when this Democratic Lawyer filed his law suit it had nothing to do with voter fraud and the law suit is a joke.

This looks like the Schmidt people once agian throwing around mud and lies. And then asking for Bob to be arrested is just plain sad. Hey what are you afraid that if we keep this what it should be like issues, and character you are going to lose. Maybe Jean and you will come up with some more lies.. Actually I am sure you will, that has been the entire Schmidt campaign. Oh yea one last thing I have no idea who is working at the McEwen campaign but it is really nice to see you talk the way you did about those people. Shows alot of class. I would hope we can get by making fun of people or totally putting people down who happen to support a different canidate. SO tolerant of you.

I have been reminded in recent weeks how often the opinion of newspaper publishers/editors/staff is reflected in the paper's non-opinion pages. Both in the Community Journal Clermont, and on the Local page in last Sunday's enquirer, journalists were allowed to report their opinions, obviously handed to them by the Schmidt campaign, as fact.

I'm sure many people were duped into believing the validity of the claims made against Bob McEwen in the above mentioned articles in the Enquirer, as I was at first. It's what happens when you read an article that mixes fact with fiction, or that states as fact things that are really opinion.

After listening to both Schmidt's liberal lawyer and McEwen himself on Bill Cunningham's radio program, I realized how twisted and dishonest those articles by Ms. Rulon were. After seeing they were not a result of investigative reporting, but rather a "story" given her directly from Schmidt campaign HQ's, it was also easy to see how much spin was mixed in.

It would take a great deal of time to list every inaccuracy and its corresponding truth, but those of you who believed the Enquirer's cases against McEwen, I strongly encourage you to investigate further. Listen to the radio interview on the internet, or talk to Mr. McEwen yourself and hear the other side of the story. He was happy to answer all my questions when I sought him out.

This is nonsense that McEwen is supporting Christian persecution. His mission was to attempt to bring two nations together to resolve differences. If we are going to link people to persecution by money, I guess I am guilty because I have purchased many cheap products from the Chinese who are ruthless in their hunt for underground churches. These are serious charges you are making. Lets step back and think before we make charges like this, please? Especially on a Sunday.

aaron - no matter what way you spin his lobbying for eritrea, the truth is still prevalent. unfortunately for bob, the voters in the second district actually have a conscience...something mcewen clearly lacks. i dont know how this man sleeps at night. probably on a pillow full of cash paid to him by a government that locks up and tortures christians left and right. you can chalk this eritrea stuff up to politics, but personally, i believe the voters have a right to know how low mcewen will stoop to so that he can afford his mortgage on his fairfax va house. may second can't come soon enough. ready to go 5 for 5 bob?

Vic Wulsin is a nice person. Gaby and Thor have their hearts in the right place. Jeff Sinnard is committed and highly dedicated to his beliefs. Any one of them would make a great representative in the US Congress.

My name is Jim Parker and I was the first person in America to declare my candidacy against Jean Schmidt. I've been to thousands of people's homes who live in our Congressional District (in all 7 counties) and I am the ONLY DEMOCRAT who has consistently and repeatedly promised to NEVER RAISE YOUR TAXES.

This is the ONLY way to win the election against Jean Schmidt.

I am the ONLY candidate with that specific platform.

Do we want to have a primary victory or do we want to win against Jean Schmidt in November? That is a very important question from YOUR perspective.

Jim Parker, the candidate with the platform and specific ideas that can win in November. Please don't re-elect Jean Schmidt. This is your only chance.

'Dunn, would serve the state better and the tide of the state is on the side of integrity and the fact that he initiated suit speaks to the spinal fortitude necessary to turn this state around !'

Do not keep repeating what party line is said to you; wake up and research your own feelings and thoughts.

You talking about Adam Dunn? Or did the handlers at the Democratic Entrapment not tell you the spelling for the ODP bartered candidate is Dann? Good job on the initiated suit. Good job on follow through. Bad job on the collusion among Democrats to win at all costs, failure to retain their place as the voice of the people and speak that voice, blocking the pipeline of information from Columbus to DC and back to hometowns throughout Ohio.
Inclusion that is tokenism toward minorities, women and the middle-to-bare bones class is about to meet its makers with transparency as the rule of the committee, not back room shananigans. The broad range of those faces were represented on Newsmakers today in every one of those Democratic candidates, none of whom have posed as shills for the local Burka harem. That IS the most refreshing lineup in ages and too bad the local party does not have leadership in place that can translate this energy and keep it vibrantly effective.

Subodh Chandra has the most logical, direct and stay true personal message line this state has seen since the directness and forthrightness of Jack Gilligan back in the 70's. He has pursued and prosecuted on both sides of the political borders. The fact he does not owe lobbyists diddly, is candid, direct and real is a great attribute for him, his whole team and this state when he, and we, win in both May and November.

Mr. 'Dunn' appears like Howdy Doodie, seated on Buffalo Bob's lap while the ventriloquist does the job and the people keep paying for the stupid one-note political act. Perhaps the Enquirer took note of how many times Doodie and Chandra made appearances in the southwestern Ohio area and where they appeared? Could that be part of the selection? Chandra is known, seen and takes a few minutes with many people in a wide variety of venues. 'Dunn' lays low at exclusive invite sites like Burka and company soirees not open to the public, and then not open to all members of the party, just exclusive inner sanctum aficionados.

Party regulars on both sides of the divide are looking to elect officials accountable to citizens on all levels, not just the lobbied interests behind the curtain of OZ.

This may muck up the thinking, but if you go to these following two links with some balanced reporting, blogged opinion and insight you may see more light. Tubbs-Jones, Rhine McLin, Frank Jackson, while African-American have often been the demonstrative voices for all Ohioans, not just lobbies and pacs. The endorsement of Chandra by Stephanie Tubbs-Jones that sent Dann storming from the stage this week is one of a set of reminders that the real Democratic Party IS setting up for transparency in all parts of Ohio government, DC top to farm field bottomlands and city streets. PEOPLE are tired of being talked down to, used, dismissed.

And remember Demobot, a new mayor is looking beyond Strickland and Fisher to his own governor's race four to eight years down the road. He'll cozy up to Chandra as soon as Dann's Dunn, oh, done.

Perhaps someone can enlighten me here. McEwen has lost three elections in a row, not 4. He lost in 1992 (to Strickland), 1993 (to Portman), and 2005 (to Schmidt). How would losing on May 2 make him 5 for 5, or do you just believe everything Barry Bennett says without thinking for yourself?

Wow Bob went to Africa to help stop a border war and thus save lives. He was asked and paid(I know no one out there gets paid to work) by a country to help. And guess what he did help. He saved lives. Now one country may not be a christian country. But I think the most important christian thing to do is to help save lives first. Maybe from there we can help with the human rights problems. I love all of you. I guess the US and people like Bob should just stand back and not try and help people and save lives. Anyone out there who has a job and does not earn money?? Haven't we seen how other problems in Africa have caused wars and 100,000s of thousands if not millions are dead and we in the USA have jsut stood back and watched people starve. I am ashamed for all of us. I thank Bob for saying yes after being asked to try and do a difficult job.

You all can keep spinning things and act like Bob is torturing people in Africa.
What has jean done for us?? She has raised our taxes(Ohio is near the top no) and what do we have. A state that is in financial trouble.

The entire Schmidt campaign is a giant facade.

Look it up, Schmidt heads. It means a "false front."

1) Bogus endorsements
2) Bogus college degrees
3) Bogus claims against McEwen's residency.

The Schmidt camp has based their entire campaign on the HOPE that people will believe that McEwen did something illegal.

Nice smear, Schmidt heads. Too bad there isn't a shred of truth to it.

The Schmidt campaign has to be one of the lowest, no-class campaigns EVER.

Jim Parker,

You keep making these over-the-top outrageous claims that make you seem disingenuous and quite frankly a little weird. The "Fighting for everything you believe in" claim is ridiculous and patronizing. Most voters understand that they won't agree with candidates on every single issue. Yet, you think that you of all the people have ever run for office have the ability to please everyone on every issue. Are you fighting for the right of a woman to choose to have an abortion? Are you fighting to raise taxes in order to lower the deficit?

Your act is wearing a little thin. I can't wait for you to lose this primary and disappear.

P.S. How much money did you raise last quarter? I didn't see your finance report on the FEC website.

Politics 101, friend. Say McEwen's lost four elections in a row, and some idiot will correct you and say it's three, not four. This way, you double your exposure of the fact that McEwen is a consistent loser.

Hey, I heard Mr. McEwen on the Cunningham show. He said absolutely nothing. He answered NO questions. The only things that came out of his mouth were words of politician double-speak.
It was frankly frustrating. I was looking forward to the interview. EVERY question asked by Bill was a launch into a completely unrelated campaign talking point by Bob...

Man, this just gets so old.....

Wow not talking the issues or how jean is a huge tax raiser. You lie and then you claim it is "politics 101" Your kind of politics is exactly what we don't need. I could care less who won or lost and when. What I do care about it someone from the Schmidt campaign lies and you say it is politics. It is just another example of no class. You probably would not show up and debate either. You just stand back and tell lies. Too bad it is just one in a whole series of lies from the Schmidt people. A Democrat who will raise your taxes cannot win in the most Republican District in Ohio.

A Democrat who will NEVER raise taxes on the people who live in Southern Ohio CAN win. I have proposed economic stimulus ideas which do not raise taxes. I have proposed middle class TAX CUTS for working families. I have a $500 BILLION savings plan to fund these cuts. I have an idea that can create 3 MILLION NEW JOBS and lower the cost of healthcare all across America. That is exactly what this country is looking for.

I have REFUSED to ever accept a campaign contribution from an Oil Comapny, a Health Insurance Company, or a Prescription Drug Company.

The thing that makes this election so important is that we... if Jean Schmidt wins (and Bob McEwen is a better candidate than her)... we are living in the MOST winnable Congressional District in America. And the candidate who was endorsed by the Enquirer can never win a general election in this district. It's not her fault. It's just not New York, California or Massachusetts. IT'S SOUTHERN OHIO.

The Republicans are net getting ready to win this District (for the 32nd stright year). The DEMOCRATS are getting ready to lose it.

This is prevenatble and you can have a Democratic Representative in Southern Ohio. Don't ruin this one and only opportunity. You and your children will have to live with the consequences for the rest of your lives.

I see that you haven't taken contributions from oil companies. Have you received ANY contributions at all?

It is time to stop the nonsense about how great you are and how you are going to win. The 2nd district isn't even the most winnable district in Cincinnati let alone the country. Paul Hackett did well in the 2nd district because of his interesting bio and his compelling personal presence. You lack both of these. It will be good riddance to Jim Parker on May 2nd.

I listened to the WLW show with Bob talking about the voter fraud thing. I have to ask what were you listening to??? I heard very good answers to a bunch of crap that was thrown out by the lawer who goes by "Stan the man". Bob gave great answers and as it is not very obvious there is nothing to all of these pumped up charges. Th so called law suit filled by the Democrat, John Kerry loving lawyer has no base and has nothing to do with what he was talking about on the radio. I thought what was good was not only Bob's answers about the med being thrown by the Schmidt campaign but also he talk about the issues. Bob also took phone calls and a couple were from Schmidt supports and. Guess what he answered the questions not like Jean who won't give the voters a chance to ask her any tough questions at a debate. I know there is an invitation to for a next Monday 2 pm debate on 700 WLW. Bob says he will be there. Will Jean show??? Or will she be a chicken once again.

I'm not connected to the Schmidt campaign. I can't stand her or Bouncing Bob. I think they're both pathetic and indicative of a republican party with no ideas, and nobody worth running. It's sad that one of them will likely win in November since the Bible-thumping Second District is so out of touch with reality. I was simply saying that there is no way for the McEwen campaign to spin his consistent loser-dom without saying Schmidt's a liar. And since that argument hasn't seemed to resonate with the voters (I guess the Second District is ok with a liar), it doesn't matter whether McEwen's lost three times, or three-hundred. He's a loser, she's a liar, they're the best Fourth Street, and Virginia can come up with, and for that, you should be sad.

Where is Jean Schmidt, anyway? I'd love to listen to HER face the voters on the radio and take questions about her resume.

What could she possibly say? I thought I earned a degree but I guess I didn't?

She plays fast and loose with the facts and that's one more reason why she has to go away.

Dumb-Schmidt will only show up at WLW if Willy agrees to throw her softball questions and screw McEwen with questions. What I would like to see, if old cut-n-run dumb-Schmidt shows up, would be questions from the listeners with separate lines from blindless Schmidtheads and McEwen supporters. I'll bet if she has to answer real questions, she won't show because she is a terrible debater (obviously not a Masterdebater). Anyone with 1/100th of a brain knows there are no seven cyclinder cars, well except Schmidt, but then again she may have less than 1/100th of a brain.

BTW, that .mp3 link that someone posted is great. I'm still laughing thinking about it.

Why would the Cincinnati Enquirer support Mrs. Schmidt, who is neither articulate nor Conservative; who embarrassed us before the world last fall, who has lied about her educational qualifications, and told a questionnaire that she would send our young women into combat?!

Why in 2004 did the same Enquirer support the idea of legislation that would compel Cincinnatians to hire or rent to people who flaunt sexual deviancy?

The truth is that the Enquirer is no longer the Conservative paper it was for generations in the past. Its endorsements are fit only to wrap the garbage in.

The vicious lie that implies Bob McEwen lost his Ohio citizenship by taking a job out of the State for a few years, is an insult to every young Ohioan in the Armed Services. One's devotion to our State does not cease, by reason of working for a time out of it.

The notion that Mrs. Schmidt, who is inarticulate and requires scripting, can be an effective Representative, is in denial of the second most essential attribute of a Legislator, that they be able to articulate sound analysis, in the give and take of Legislative debate, and Committee discussions.

Of course, the other essential attribute is honesty. And an honest person does not get caught in the lies that Mrs. Schmidt has been caught in.

Bob McEwen has been a loyal adherent to the brand of American Conservative values, which Ronald Reagan took to the White House. That Clinton's boy Stan Chesley--who raced the hearses to the Beverly Hills Fire hillside Morgue--would try to smear Bob, is completely consistent with what each of them stand for. Bob McEwen for traditional American values; Chesley for the Clintonesque policies of moving America Left by deceptive tactics.

The choice on May 2nd is very clear. That the Enquirer chooses, once again, to be on the wrong side is very tragic.

Who cares how many times McEwen. Look up how many times Lincoln lost before being elected. Great things come in great men, sometimes in a great amount of time with a great deal of work.

Mr. Flax, 14 years away, AFTER he left congress is WAY more than a few years!!! Counting his time in congress he has been in Virginia most of his adult life. His children apparently grew up there, went to school there, and probably are raising their families there (speculation).
Don't know how Bob has so much support around here unless he is being repaid old favors from 20 plus years ago!!
Although maybe he doesn't have much support, seems almost NONE of his signs are on private property. only (illegally) in public thorofares.
If individuals were backing him, his signs would be in their yards!!

Living outside the district for a while can be a very good thing. You get new ideas and new ways of solving problems. You see new ways of providing services, parks, transportation, safety services, etc. You learn what other people made work and what did not work for other communities.

Jean has lived here all her life so she has experienced nothing outside of Clermont County. So she is rather stale.

Bob is an experienced Congressman. Who cares where he lived. That's not the issue, the best representation is the issue and Bob McEwen can run rings around her.

You all know she was thrown out of St. Ursula High School for fighting back in her teen years. Seemed some other girls called her a hillbilly or something similar, so she decks the girl, which of course simply proved she was indeed a hillbilly as young ladies do not fight. Of course that is if they have been properly raised.

Did anyone see that Family First is mailing endorsement cards out. Yup, McEwen is their choice. I guess Ms. ProLife didn't get endorsed because she is also ProTax which is not family friendly.

Jean, thanks for making Ohio the third highest taxed state in the union. We may be at the bottom in jobs, education and quality of life, but when it comes to taxes, thanks to Jean Schmidt and Bob Taft, we're up in the top. If Schmidt had stayed in the state legislature, maybe we could have made it all the way to the top.

In response to the comments of another naysayer (probably a Democratic rival)... This election has nothing to do with any previous candidate's success. It has to do with who is the most likely person to defeat Jean Schmidt in the Ohio 2nd?

I wonder if you are the other Democrat who will raise taxes...

I WILL NEVER RAISE TAXES ON THE PEOPLE OF SOUTHERN OHIO.

In answer to your question, my first contribution came from Vancouver, Washington. I have remained under the $5,000 cap so that I could do Whatever I need to, Wherever I need to, and Whenever I need to without reporting to the FEC. I have the best name recognition of any Democrat in the District according to polling information released today...

I have knocked on more doors than anybody else in this election. I have been EVERYWHERE in the Ohio 2nd. Nobody knows what I have been doing. This has been a great experience meeting so many wonderful people. The reality of the situation is that I just might win. Then Jean Schmidt will lose.

Time to drive another 75 miles one way. There's somewhere that I have to be tonight.

Please don't re-elect Jean Schmidt on May 2nd. The Republican don't win the 2nd. The Democrats repeatedly lose. We can change all of that. You have the candidate. You have the power. You have the opportunity.

THINK BEFORE YOU VOTE!

Jim Parker
Please Don't Re-Elect Jean Schmidt... 32 or 34, the Choice is Yours...

To Mr Common Sense:

I have seen many, many McEwen signs in private properties. I do not know who is winning the "sign war" but I see alot for both canidates. It is funny because I see many Schmidt signs in public areas. In fact I cannot remember an election where I did not see signs from many canidates and both parties in public area. Don't try and make anyone believe that jean does not have signs in Public property. And it is also a known fact that the Schimdt supporters have operation clean sweep which steals and destroys as many McEwen signs as they can. I know of several that have been taken as was one in front of my house. Funny around where I live there are more homes with McEwen signs than Schmidt.

Also common sense would say that we need someone who can best represent us. Not make us the laughing stock like jean did on the house floor. I was a rep. who can get things done. When Bob was our Congressman lots got done and he did not make us look bad. There is no doubt who would be the best to get things done for Southwest Ohio, that is McEwen.
By the way the McEwen kids are in college, one working, one is a Marine, and one is campaigning for her dad. And they all consider Ohio as their home.

While I think the McEwen children should be left out of the debate, I really wonder why they feel Ohio is their home. Did they go to school here? Spend Christmases here? How much time have they spent in Ohio over the years? They all seem like good kids/adults but I would really like to hear why they consider Ohio their home.

Mr. Common Sense:
I guess you haven't been in any of the rural counties? Brown County is McEwen country (as well as Adams, Scioto, Pike)!! I don't know of any Schmidt signs in front of a house or place of business (in B.C.). Nice try on the spin though.

That last person to comment is right about Jean Schmidt raising taxes...

As a matter of fact, she voted to raise the gas tax by six cents per gallon when she was in the Ohio State House of Representatives.

One of her first votes in the US House was for the Energy Bill which gave the single greatest tax break to oil companies since the invention of the automobile.

I support tax breaks for working families; not oil companies.

Anyone see the NBC coverage of challenger John Cranley in Ohio call out combover incumbent Steve Chabot and the other Bushies for being bought off by big oil?

It ran on NBC Nightly News and The Today Show. I hear it was on MSNBC all weekend too.

A link to the nightly news broadcast:

Chabot looks bad. What an idiot for blaming "liberals" when he's giving oil companies billions in corporate welfare, then getting bankrolled by them in his campaign. Typical Bushie.

Ken Blackwell is going to crush Petro. The folks that re-elected our President are going to vote for Blackwell in huge numbers.

Here's the latest from the Blackwell campaign. Blackwell comes out on top in straw poll held by local Blue Chip Young Republicans:
