New McEwen ads on TV and radio

Republican Bob McEwen is up on the air this week with a new campaign ad that's running both on TV and the radio. The camera pans over a framed copy of the above picture of his family as McEwen's wife, Liz McEwen, narrates.

Bob McEwen, a former congressman representing southern Ohio, is challenging U.S. Rep. Jean Schmidt, R-Miami Township, in the GOP primary election on May 2.

In the ad, Liz McEwen talks about her Ohio roots: "I was born here in Cincinnati. My grandfather taught art here for 40 years and my uncle was president of Cincinnati Bible Seminary."

Bob McEwen, in case you were wondering, was born in Hillsboro, Highland County. Schmidt and her twin sister, Jennifer Black, were born in Cincinnati.

In the ad, Liz McEwen introduces viewers to their "four great kids" as she tells voters that despite "juggling teenagers" and "job transfers," she and her husband have "never failed to vote and work for a better Ohio."

More from Liz McEwen: "With jobs leaving and taxes rising, we need to elect a trusted conservative to Congress. On May Second, we need to elect Bob McEwen."

Watch the TV ad and listen to the radio ad, which is essentially the same script, here.

McEwen's wife stole Jean Schmidt's coat!

I can hear the nasty tenor of the Schmidt-heads already: that's an old picture, the kids are much older now. He is mis-representing the fact that his children are grown! He is lying to you so that you'll think he has children in school still or something. Next you'll hear them say his son really isn't a Marine. Call the Ohio Elections Commission!

Did they remember to say who paid for the commercials this time? I guess it's really hard for a Virginian like Bob to understand all the Ohio election laws.

Does the family still own a home in Virginia?? Will he move back home to Virginia if he loses in the primary? Will he maintain a home in Ohio if he is elected to Congress?? Where is his principle residence on his previous years tax returns? Where are his children? Virginia? Ohio? Will Bob still work as a lobbiest while he is in congress?? (double dip I think they call it!) Maybe he taught the trade to his children and they could lobby him at home!!
Please go back to DC Bob! Do the honorable thing and bow out of the primary.

Oh my gosh, that is such a terrible commercial! I hope everyone has noticed that it's full of old footage. Notice in the "approval section" that all the trees are full of leaves (not usual in April). Also, in the end, the scene with the vets, same thing. Signal of the campaign's lack of $$$. They could only afford Liz talking in a kitchen, panning over some lame photos, and some odd (blair witch project footage?) picture of a water facility? Totally LAME!

Is Jean Schmidt going to release a new commercial where still tells the truth by admitting that she is AGAINST the death penalty, supports openly admitted homosexuals in the military, admits that she support homosexual marriage, and a host of other liberal leaning positions. Schmidt tells the voters what they want to hear, not what she believes - It's one lie after another. If Schmidt is a conservative, then you have to call Kerry and Kennedy conservatives along with her.

Don't they look pretty with their rent-a-dog. Notice Bob is not touching the dog and Liz is forcing herself to barly put her finger on the dog. As we all know the children are grown, they don't own a pet and everything looks so green for being early spring. This picture is so old it had to be touched up.

The Schmidt camp would never come out and say that Bob's picture breaks OEC rules because they aren't negative and don't run a smear campaign. Also I like how we haven't heard from Bob yet, they use his wife and why? Mr. Harlow must think everyone's going to compare her to Jean, when I'm sure Lizzy hasn't ever held an elected office. Crazy Harlow, at least your wife is hot.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU. I am so glad that we have MEAN JEAN Congressional Staffers who do nothing but waste tax-payer $$ by analyzing every microscopic detail of Bob McEwen's campaign commercials.

WOW. Figuring out for us that there are no leaves on trees in the month of April.....we're so unworthy. After all, us ol' dumb & uneducated (some of us actually have 2 Degrees by the way) voters need you to figure out those things for us.

Maybe the reason McEwen had his wife Liz talking from their kitchen is because he's out meeting and speaking with the voters of the 2nd District, instead of holding fund-raiser after fund-raiser and hiding behind them instead of participating in debates!

Boy, if MEAN JEAN isn't a perfect example of how once someone gets elected to Congress, they immediately take on the "inside the beltway" mindset.

May 2nd cannot come fast enough.
