Another endorsement dispute?

Curiously, Rep. Jean Schmidt's endorsement by the Family Research Council has just been scrubbed from her campaign Web site's endorsement page.

This comes after both Rep. Steve Chabot, a Republican from Westwood, and Tom Tancredo, R-Colo., publicly disputed Schmidt's claims on her Web site that they had endorsed her for re-election.

The congressman both said they support Schmidt - they just don't endorse her. Schmidt's campaign said it was a misunderstanding.

Could there be another misunderstanding?

Actually, sort of.

"The reason that it's not there is that it's not an endorsement. We put it in the wrong place," Schmidt campaign manager Allen Freeman explained. "The FRC is a report card, so it should have been in the 'Jean on the Issues' section, not the endorsements page."

Freeman said he noticed the oversight this week and immediately had it corrected.

Click here to see the cache version of her endorsement page. FYI, below is the specific text that was removed:
Conservative organization “The Family Research Council (FRC)” reports that Rep. Jean Schmidt supported the interests of FRC 100% in 2005.

FRC is one of the nation’s largest and most influential social policy organizations. "The Family Research Council (FRC) champions marriage and family as the foundation of civilization, the seedbed of virtue, and the wellspring of society. FRC shapes public debate and formulate public policy that values human life and upholds the institutions of marriage and the family."

The truth appears to be entirely optional for Ms. Schmidt. That and decorum, propriety, and decency.

This spoiled rich girl from Clermont County daily brings discredit to the district.

How soon does Mean Jean claim Bob McEwen and Paul Hackett's endorsement? This woman is a complete embarrassment to the area. She needs more than truth serem, she needs psychological help.

One more negative comment about a Republican from the Enquirer blog.

"Anon. 10:47" is taking the typical Republican approach of "How dare you catch me lying, cheating, stealing, or killing?" Get over your supposed bias complaint.

Can anyone at the Enquirer help the fact that Jean Schmidt is simply an habitual liar? Is it their fault George Bush's little escapades in Iraq and with Dubai Ports World have finally caught up to him in the polls? Are they to blame for Phil Heimlich's dictatorial rule on the Banks project? Was it the Enquirer that forced Steve Chabot to accept money from Jack Abramoff and his clients in exchange for a letter to disgraced Interior Secretary Gale Norton? Did the Enquirer bounce all those checks in Bob McEwan's name? Maybe they were the ones who introduced idiot homophobic bills on behalf of Tom "Gay Marriage Killed the Dinosaurs" Brinkman.

Get over it, Republicans bring bad news on themselves and bring bad policies to the country, state, county, and city.

Anon 10:47,
You are confused! While there's nothing good you can say about Scmhidt, there's a lot they could say about Stephanie Dumas. She's the most qualified candidate for County Commissioner to run against Philty Phil Hiemlich.( They don't write anything bad about Phil, though the Cincinnati beacon is doing a lot of stories on his crooked dealings.)

This Republican rag still hasn't written anything about Dumas though they've known she's on the ballot for over a month. At least they cover Republicans, so quit complaining.

Actually, if you go to McEwen's website, you will see a letter of exoneration over the checks.

So the attorney general decided not to bring charges. That doesn't change the fact that Bob liked writing rubber checks. If he can't be trusted with his own money, what makes you think he can be trusted with ours?

I'm wondering why they aren't talking about Bob McEwen's real home, the $862,000 home in the DC suburb of Fairfax Station, Virginia. Does he really expect anybody to believe that an apartment in Anderson Township is his real home? Bob McEwen is a carpetbagger. As far as the Family Research Council bit, this is a mountain being made out of a molehill. It was an obvious mistake and moved to the correct spot on the website.

Anon 11:41, the letter on McEwen's site doesn't say anything about exonoration. Read it. It basically says "we have bigger fish to fry."

The molehill is that Bob McEwen owns property in different states. I don't care in how many different states McEwen owns property. He's been an Ohio resident longer than I've been alive.

The important thing is that McEwen is far more fit to be a Congressman. Back when Mean Jean referred to Young Republicans as "young Hitlers" and booed Elizabeth Dole at the Republican National Convention, Congressman McEwen was voting for Ronald Reagan's agenda.

By comparison, when Mean Jean finally got elected to something, she spent her time being a rubber stamp for Bob Taft's agenda. I'll vote for a Reagan Republican over a Taft Republican any day.

Jeff, you might want to check Bob's record in supporting the Reagan Tax Cuts. You'll be surprised.

Wow big man throwing out a price of a home in DC. Lets see, Bob McEwen is and always has been an Ohio resident. I mean noone ever goes to another city to work their job now do they. He is a buckeye who served in congress and continued to have work in DC, but his roots have always been as a buckeye. Also keep throwing out accusations about things that happened a long time ago that have been proven were not "fraud". But that is ok you will keep yelling fraud even it is not true.
