Schmidt gets nod from McEwen backer

Rep. Jean Schmidt announced today that Dr. John Willke, the founder of the pro-life movement, has endorsed her for re-election.

The announcement comes after Willke endorsed Republican Bob McEwen, a former congressman from southwest Ohio, during last year's 11-person GOP primary.

McEwen is again challenging Schmidt for the 2nd District. The GOP primary is May 2.

Does this mean McEwen will take Willke's endorsement down from his campaign Web site?

Why would McEwen take it down? It was from the last race, as anyone can see from the date. Is the Enquirer going to hold Schmidt to the same standard?

It is disengenuous...alot like continuing to call himself "Congressman" well after he's been one...

Whats ethics to a Washington DC lobbyist like McEwen. Doesn't he have a hearing pending for other ethics violations?

I hear that another Ohio Ethics Commission charge is ready to be filed. The McEwen's web site has been copied and will be used after McEwen's current ethics violations are heard. Why do lobbyists like McEwen think they are above the law?

How long will McEwen's new employeer Greenebaum Doll & McDonald put up his ethics problems before they fire him. The last thing they want is ethics charges involving their firm.

Chabot is not going to let McEwen defeat Schmidt. The Chabot-Shmidt team is one to make CIncinnati poroud.

Wilke sold out a long long time ago.

Dr. Willke will probably endorse McEwen too.

Anyone who follows the Right-to-Life Movement knows that both Schmidt and McEwen are champions of the cause.

The Schmidt-McEwen duel won't be decided over the abortion issue, so all you Schmidt family members shouldn't be getting all excited as though the election was won today.

I almost feel sorry for you people, not knowing what's coming.

An Open Letter To Malia Rolun:

Having read your many stories regarding Jean Schmidt, I am forced to conclude that you are acting as Jean Schmidt's press agent. You repeatedly print comments from her campaign staff referring to 'polls' showing "enormous" approval ratings for Ms. Schmidt and hefty leads over her opponents which have been widely discredited. You have also printed every positive-spin fluff piece 'press release' that Schmidt's campaign releases (running with the Marines? Come on!).

You have also completely ignored charges that Schmidt's campaign is being illegally run from her congressional office at the taxpayer's expense in direct violation of federal law.

If you really wish to campaign for Mean Jean please join her campaign and leave the "reporting" to someone who can remain impartial. Or perhaps you should be working for the 'fair and balanced' Fox News.
