More on DCCC visit to Cincinnati

Here is what the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) said in a news release e-mailed to reporters about tomorrow's event with Democrat John Cranley.

(Washington, D.C.) –Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Chairman Rahm Emanuel will join Cincinnati city councilman and congressional candidate John Cranley – a proven budget balancer – at a press conference in Cincinnati this Wednesday. Emanuel and Cranley will highlight the massive and growing deficit under the Republican Congress and the need for real reform and meaningful change. Ohio families deserve more than Congressman Steve Chabot’s empty promises and the Republican deficits.

After this news conference, Emanuel will headline a $500-per-person fundraiser luncheon for Cranley. Cranley is running against Chabot in the 1st Congressional District.

No disrespect to Mr. Emanuel, but hopefully Mr. Cranley can use the proceeds from this fundraiser to attract a heavyweight name for his next function. Let's face it, Chabot is well ensconced over here on the west side, and John Cranley has a tough job ahead in trying to win over any of his opponent's votes. Fortunately Mr. Cranley does have a growing young voter base over here that may just give him a new job. He will need to be extremely visible in order to win over any west-siders.

The only reason the Steve Chabot is ensconsed in the West Side is that during the partisan redistricting of the 1st and 2nd Congressional districts, Rob Portman gave more white Hamilton County voters to Chabot and they split the Cincinnati black right down Vine Street. Sounds like the old Jim Crow to this reader. Conservative or Confederate, there is no difference.

OK, now that you have taken this Way off the subject...
You had better do your research, my friend. Steve Chabot has had the west side neatly tucked under his comb-over well before Portman came around. And have you taken a good look, I mean a really good look at the west side lately? The west side has welcomed a large and rapidly expanding black population just waiting to be served by a congressman who can reach out and 1) get them registered and 2) get them to vote.
You can't seriously use race as an excuse here. I challenge you to produce the demographic numbers to back up your statements.
