"w marc dan .... drunnnnk"

The Plain Dealer reports:

She said she was drunk, "in a weird situation," and needed a ride home from Ohio Attorney General Marc Dann's apartment.

The woman's text messages to a friend last September are key evidence in sexual harassment accusations that she and another employee in the attorney general's office have lodged against Anthony Gutierrez, one of Dann's top aides.

The messages are not corrected for typos and include text abbreviations such as lol (laugh out loud). Not available are the text answers she received.

"Girl. . .im in a weird situation. .iem w marc dan. . . .drunnnnk," reads one.

I don't get it? what is the big freaking deal?

Being an elected officeholder has a lot of stress, and sometimes you need to relax.

Everyone involved was an adult, and I'm sure Mrs. Dann is fully aware of all of this. Wives aren't stupid.

Seriously, who was hurt by a night of some adults getting together, being intoxicated and having some fun? Gee, I guess some people might see this as their chance at a jackpot.

Those girls should be darn glad they have jobs - there are a lot of people in this world who would give anything to be in their position.

Stop picking on Democrats.

The Repugs have reached a new low with this one.

8:46...you've reached a new low blaming "repugs" for a text message emanating from a democrats apartment...how "Clintonesque" of you.

Doesn't the Enquirer have a Columbus bureau? Why do you have to depend on stories from the Plain Dealer and other papers?

at 10:06 AM, April 16, 2008 Anonymous Anonymous said...

Still letting other papers do the reporting for you, huh Enquirer?

Carl, was it really necessary to add to N's to "drunnnnk?" Seriously, man. You make a point in the post of pointing out that none of the spelling mistakes in the text messages were corrected, and go out of your way to further misspell the misspellings. It's just a little pathetic.

Time for Dann to resign!! Sounds like a good vacancy for Rob Portman.

Your heading is misleading. Headline makes it appear that Dann is drunk. Bad form.

Another greedy Repugnicant using his position of power to use young people for his own sexual gratification. I thought the Bush Crime Family would be out of criminals by now.

Sheesh, Novemeber cannot get here fast enough. We'll need to build another jail just for all the criminal Repugs.

Democrats have reached a new low thinking it's perfectly acceptable for a grown man in a powerful position to act like a freshman fraternity pledge.

Only in a immoral world do events like these take place, however a new low is reached when the actions are not repudiated by the public.

Sad.

I'm confused.

Is Dann a Democrat or a Republican?

I'm getting mixed messages by reading this board.

Dann is a Democrat. Dann comes into office claiming he is going to clean up things in Ohio and he is no better than the rest of them.

Marc Dann must be a Repug. Why else would the Enquirer downplay it so much?

Another GOPervert is outed, and resigns in disgrace:

For days, Bruce Barclay's political career hung in the balance. The Republican commissioner of Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, had been accused of rape -- by a man, no less -- and the police were bearing down. Barclay's lawyer issued a strong denial ("This accusation of rape is ludicrous It will be defended forever and is wrong."). But it was clear things were looking pretty dicey. Until... vindication! Well, sort of.

On March 31st, police, investigating the allegation of rape by the 20-year old Marshall McCurdy, obtained a warrant to search Barclay's home. They didn't find evidence of rape. But they did find videotapes of hundreds of sexual encounters with men that Barclay had filmed on high-tech surveillance cameras. The cameras were hidden inside AM/FM radios, motion detectors and intercom speaker systems, among other places. There was also one at his business office.

None of the subjects were aware they were being filmed and no permission had been obtained, Barclay admitted. According to a second warrant issued on April 9th, Barclay also admitted to hiring prostitutes on a weekly basis from the now-defunct website harrisburgfratboys.com.

On April 10th, the rape charges were dropped. One of the videos found during the search showed Barclay and McCurdy engaging in apparently consensual sex. As his lawyer put it:

"It is clear in my client's private life he has made an error of judgment. What is striking is this very same lack of judgment exonerates him from a rape allegation that wasn't going anywhere."
Sadly, his vindication was his undoing. Barclay was forced to resign.

And legally, Barclay's not quite out of the woods yet-- he's still facing possible charges for privacy violations and promoting prostitution. McCurdy, however, has been charged with making false reports to law enforcement authorities and unsworn falsifications to authorities. He's up for a possible 3-year prison stint and $7,500 in fines.

Dann is a Democrat. If he was a Repugnicant, he would have been doing young boys or doing it with a diaper on. Normal hetero stuff means it is a Democrat. Perverted stuff means it involved a Repugnicant.

Sounds like a perequisite for democrats anymore. Unlike Cincinnati's mayor and Hamilton county's Commissioner, at least it involved females...

I hope young Mr. Driehaus doesn't "pop up" in this one. He's got enough on "his hands" with this "Girls Gone Wild" thing.

Young fella, you've got to pick better friends.

Actually, L'il Hands Driehaus had Dann in for a fundraiser last year...the two are apparently close. Hopefully Driehaus will give whatever dirty money he raised off that event to a non-profit that helps women cope with sexual harassment...

DemocRATS Marc Dann and B.J. Clinton seem to enjoy using women like so much Kleenex. Maybe they should be neutered. In B.J.'s case, I'm sure Queen Hitlery Rodram Clinton would go along with it!

See what happens when you elect democRATS to statewide office?
