Denise Driehaus To Host

Prepared to continue a life of service.

CINCINNATI – Denise Driehaus will host her campaign kickoff tomorrow, Sunday, April 13, 2008 at the Front Porch Coffeehouse (5245 Glenway Avenue) in Price Hill. The event will take place between 5:00pm and 7:00pm.

Driehaus, a life-long resident of the west side, currently resides in Price Hill where she and her husband, Zeek Childers, co-own two businesses - the Front Porch Coffeehouse and Philipps Swim Club. Driehaus has served as a member of the Cincinnati Recreation Commission for sixteen years. Driehaus is also on the Board of the Price Hill Civic Club and is Vice President of the West Price Hill Merchant’s Association. She has served as a volunteer at St. Teresa Church and School, Seton High School and Elder High School and acted as the Childrens Coordinator for the Dunham 1000 Hands Playground Build.

Driehaus is looking forward to serving the 31st house district in Columbus, “As a small business owner and a life long community volunteer, I have made a commitment to this area. I would welcome the opportunity to use my knowledge and years of experience to serve the district in Columbus. This is an exciting time in the State of Ohio and I look forward to serving as a member of the legislature to address this district’s challenges and to move our state forward.”

Driehaus is a graduate of Miami University.

Driehaus has two children, Sarah and Andrew Childers.

Since the only thing standing between Denise and the Statehouse is C. Scott Gehring, she could spend the rest of 2008 in a villa in France and she'd still win in a landslide.

Very nice. West Siders want to know where Mizz Driehaus-Childers and her running mate, Mr. "Little Hands" Driehaus stand on their presidential nominee ------ you know, the guy who said we are all clinging to our guns and our religion.

For the record, a lot of us are Catholics who think we ought to be able to own firearms to protect our homes and families.

Where do you and your running mate "Girls Gone Wild"
Driehaus stand on your nominee's attacks on our religion and our right to keep and bear arms?

Will be interesting to see if Mrs. Childress aka Denise Driehaus, ever makes her way into any of the other neighborhoods in this district. Never ever seen her in Westwood, Saylor Park or any of the other communities for that matter. I'll be on the lookout for her upcoming appearances and report back.

thanks to GOOGLE,I could type in Driehaus' name and discover she's a Democrat...info that was nowhere to be found in this piece.

at 12:25 PM, April 13, 2008 Anonymous Anonymous said...

Denise Childers should do the honest thing and use her real name. With Scotty as her opponent, she has nothing to lose. She will win handily between the Dem endorsement, the backing of her clan, and the fact that her opponent is this two-time loser who is now working to import sex offenders to Cincinnati.

at 2:37 PM, April 13, 2008 Anonymous Anonymous said...

Both Denise DRIEHAUS Childers and C. Scott GEHRING are losers. The Westside really has nobody to vote for. Denise is using her maiden name for the win. Gehring is a loser for he works for Volunteers of America (sex offenders). WOW do we have great choices. The Republican Party had their chance finally to win this State Representative seat and look ... they picked a weakling.

GEHRING is really a Democrat, too!

Thanks to GOOGLE you can find out poster "Harry & Jack" is no other than Aryeh, the Driehaus staffer who has somehow located the failed campaign playbook of the 2006 Cranley campaign; in a dumpster no less!

at 4:08 PM, April 13, 2008 Anonymous Anonymous said...

Scott Gehring backed out and has taken a job encouraging sex offenders to move to the area.

In 2007, Scott Gehring was impeached and removed as president of the Blue Chip Young Republicans. Now Scott Gehring has dropped out of this race. Looks like the disgraced former staffer's once-promising political career is in the toilet.

To all you anonymous coast losers blogging from your mommy's basements all day and all night:

Scott was recruited by the House Republican caucus to run for this seat. None of you will ever be recruited by the Republican Party for anything-- unless they ask you to leave it. Your hateful, divisive politics do nothing to help win elections. All you can do is lose them, and you have quite the history there.

Yes, Scott is a vice-president for a non-profit. He raises money and, as an executive, is responsible for more than any of you ever will be. He is also, at the age of 25, making more money than any of you ever have, except for Finney, who, well, he IS a lawyer. He'd sue the Enquirer if we said anymore, because Chris believes only he has a First Amendment right to freedom of speech.

10:04 I know Denise has been in the neighborhoods of Westwood and Saylor Park. However, the article was about her campaign kick-off. It is April. I am certain she will make it to every community in the district many times over.

As for those griping about her using her maiden name, this is the 21st century. Many women don't take their husband's name upon marriage. Indeed, one of the most respected Republican woman office holders nation-wide is Senator Olympia Snowe who is married to Mr. McKernon. Driehaus is Denise Driehaus' name.

Finally, all of the Driehauses are respectful about religion. They are religious themselves as very active Catholics.

The foot-tapping Bold Typist may have attended Miami University. Denise remembers a restroom attendant who spoke favorably about Bold Endeavors.

If the Republican Party really knew what they were doing, they would convince Joe Platt to move to the 31st district from his house in colerain. After all Joe has a law degree and isn't using it as a stay at home dad. Maybe he could take a brake from ranting like a loon and start doing something constructive with his life.

What kind of gun would Jesus have carried?

He doesn't need one...he's coming back with a sword. Had there been guns, He would've undoubtedly promoted self-defense (Lu 22:36).

So you prefer the bow &arrow to protect your family or simply not to protect your family?

Anon 6:55-Haha. Scott is that you or you wife blogging on the county tax-payer's dime?

10:43,

I wrote in at 6:55 on a Sunday night. Sorry, that's not taxpayer time for Jen. She has a day job. Scott works in the private sector now anyway.

Just wondering, on whose dime are YOU blogging at 10:43 on a Monday morning?

Scott Gehring is a very talented individual. He has managed 2 Republican victories in the increasingly-Democratic City of Cincinnati. He is in his second campaign for state representative. He is active in his community of Westwood. He is an executive with one of the largest non-profits in the area.

What have you done with your life? Jeff Capell, Michael Harlow, and all of the other hate-filled losers are jealous of Scott's successes.

I am a friend of the couple and an active Republican. But if Capell and Harlow are indicators of the Republican Party's leadership these days, it's no wonder our party keeps losing seats and losing the respect of the voters.

Hate is not a winning campaign strategy.

Anger is not a winning campaign strategy.

And Jeffy and Mikey, no one has ever won anything blogging from their mommy's basement. Come up from your porn stash and enter the real world.

Your internet connection, the same one you use to assassinate the character of people whose talents you can't dream of matching, the same internet connection you use to download porn, can also help you find a job and start contributing to society instead of taking from it.

Try www.careerbuilder.com, www.monster.com, or www.cincysmartjobs.com

And please, if you want to attack people and make baseless character attacks, spew your vile and bilous hatred on the Democrats for once in your lousy lives. Most Republicans wish you'd stop pretending to be members and activists of our party. You guys need to grow up and start going after the REAL opponents, not someone with the character and resume of Scott Gehring.

Hey everybody: three-time loser C. Scott Gehring joined the fray @ 6:55 PM on 4/13/08!

You're bitter and angry about being exposed for what you are, Scott - an unprincipled egomaniac whose extremely brief moment in the sun is now shrouded in perpetual darkness.

Folks, it sounds like Scott Gehring was "asked" to drop out of this race, just as he was "asked" to resign in disgrace from the staff of Cincinnati City Councilwoman Leslie Ghiz.

Bitter COAST losers need to start taking on Democrats and not spread false rumors about Republicans. Scott is in this to win this.

Would love to know when Mrs. Childress has last been in the Westwood community. Which decade...do you know? I have spoke with several very active community members in that neighborhood and they can't ever recall seeing her there. They were having a problem with basketball hoops at Oskamp Park, she never was in on the discussion. When the Reds Community Fund people came to speak about the major renovations for the ballfields at Oskamp once again she was not there. If you think that by visiing one of her many brothers who does live in Westwood counts...think again.
As for her using the Driehaus name, only makes sense to me, they have all those Driehaus purple plastic cups they need to hand out.

You COASTIES must be getting toasted. Scott Gehring is not dropping out. Speaker Husted works very closely with him because this seat is the Republican Party's top pickup priority. How many calls have YOU received from the Speaker of the House?

Folks,
Forget about all the crapola. Scott works for an evil empire, and Denise uses her family name- what the heck difference does that make?
Here is a question they should both be able to answer- How are they going to stop the Ohio Housing Finance Agency from destroying our West Side neighborhoods, one crappy apartment complex at a time?

"Scott doesn't have time to post on this blog"

Yeah, he is too busy trying to get sex offenders transitioned into west side neighborhoods while getting paid $10 an hour.

The COAST losers blogging from their Mommy's basements need to get a life.

Scott is running in this race, he will win, and you'll still be blogging in your mommy's basement this time next year while Congressman Gehring is in Columbus making a difference.

"while Congressman Gehring is in Columbus making a difference."

Scott, if you are actually going to run, you might start by getting the title right, it is Representative. Congressmen serve in Washington DC.

Gehring/Winkelman 12:39 PM, let's take a closer look at C. Scott Gehring's resume:

- Worked for Leslie Ghiz. Fired in less than a year
- Elected President of Blue Chip Young Republicans. Ran the club into the ground, forced to resign less than 1 year into his term. The club is flourishing now.
- Hired to run the promising campaign of Melanie Bates when most thought she'd win. Botched that one too, Bates finishes 8000 votes away from winning.
- Run for office twice, getting crushed both times. Thought the third time was a charm, now dropping out of that race too rather than lose by 30 points again.
- In a presidential year where there are more political jobs to be had than ever, currently working for Volunteers of America providing hands-on counseling to registered sex offenders.

It's interesting that 12:39 wants to accuse Capell and Harlow of being hateful and blogging from their mommy's basement all day, an accusing they plant in their own 11 paragraph hate rant. I don't know how many working people actually have time to write an essay like that at 12:39 during the workday; clearly Harlow and Capell don't. They appear to be too busy working real jobs (not importing sex offenders to Cincinnati).

And for the record, Capell and Harlow own their homes. By contrast, Gehring lives in a home owned by his mommy Carole J Gehring.

at 3:10 PM, April 16, 2008 Anonymous Anonymous said...

12:23 AM anon is 100% correct.

A routine property search on the Hamilton County Auditor's website shows that 3030 MONTANA AVENUE is indeed owned by CAROLE J GEHRING.

So Scott Gehring is actually the one blogging from his mommy's basement! What an embarrassing Freudian slip! Be careful who you call a loser next time, Scotty.

Hey COAST Losers,

Pay attention. I am typing this real slowly so you can all understand this.

FACT: Scott Gehring is a candidate for state representative, endorsed by the Hamilton County Republican Party.

FACT: Capell, Harlow, Finney, and everyone else in COAST except Brinkman, Heimlich, and DeWine (all of whom have family money to flush down the toilet) have never been candidates for anything in Hamilton County, let alone enddorsed by the Hamilton County Republican Party.

FACT: Scott Gehring lives in a home owned by his mother. It is a family-owned home for generations. Scott has painstaklingly restored and refurbished the home. This happens a lot, especially on the West Side. You might know that if you a) ever crossed I-75, b) came from a decent family, or c) ever did any work yourselves on a home.

FACT: Scott Gehring ran two successful campaign for Leslie Ghiz. He was not fired. You can check the City Council's personnel records for this.

FACT: Scott Gehring ran a campaign for Melanie Bates. He took over 2 months before, and the campaign had no money, no organization, and no ground game. In that brief time, he took her to the brink of success, and she finished higher than anyone else who had never served on Council before did in that election.

FACT: Melanie Bates, with 2 months of Scott's skilled managing of her campaign, finished way ahead of COAST pals Patton and Jeffre.

FACT: COAST has done more damage to the Republican Party than the Democrats ever have.

FACT: COAST is populated by bitter losers.

This one's for Scott Gehring and his sockpuppet/spouse Jen Winkelman:

Q: How many guys "resign" from a job in the first month or so of a new marriage, when no back-up job has been secured?

A: NONE...unless you're Scott Gehring and you were told by City Councilwoman Leslie Ghiz: "resign at once or you will be terminated."
So nice try, you two. And if anyone if bitter, it's you. Just re-read your last post - slowly, so you can understand it.

Here's all y'all need to know about that boy Scott Gehring:

"Well, my sources deep inside the Charter Committee have been telling me all week that Scott lied to me. (He wanted me to lie to you!) They say Scott WAS INDEED FIRED after Leslie caught him doing his State Rep campaigning at City Hall. They also tell me he isn't taking time off to focus on his full time and attention on his State Rep campaign (which is what he told me last week). No, they say Scott's wife, Jen Winkelman, and her boss, David Pepper, called Jeff Cramerding and got Melanie Bates to hire Scott as her new chief of staff. To hear my sources tell it, Scott has been telling everyone who will listen about his new position with Bates' campaign. Away from Pepper and Cramerding, who both support Republican Leslie Ghiz's re-election effort, Scott has been laughing about how he thinks Ghizzy won't be re-elected and Bates will. He says he will have the last laugh because he will be in City Hall after November and Ghizzy will be back to practicing law with ZERO clients.

Only the most intense political junkies care about who is working for what council candidate. Admittedly, I normally don't care, either. The only reason I even wrote about Scott was because it helped show how disorganized Ghizzy's campaign is. But now that Scott is bragging about how clever he was to lie to me and trick me into publishing those lies, I care. At least a little bit. I just started checking today. If I find out that my sources are telling the truth, I think you all know that I'm going to deal with Scott Gehring."

6:54, Scott Gehring talks like he's Karl Rove, but acts like he's Bob Shrum.

at 12:08 PM, April 19, 2008 Anonymous Anonymous said...

Even Bob Shrum can get a job in politics. Gehring has to provide hands-on counseling to convicted sex offenders to pay the bills (the few bills it requires to support himself since mommy owns his home).

at 12:18 PM, April 20, 2008 Anonymous Anonymous said...

Gehring has a long history of using this blog to anonymously attack others, then backing down when confronted. He overstepped his bounds on numerous occasions in Ghiz' office, to the point that she had to send a memo to other councilmembers and department heads clarifying who was in charge of her office (Matt Jones). He did nothing for seven months of serving as Blue Chip President, keeping silent when another member publicly attacked fellow Republican Chris Monzel.

He did find time to campaign with Democrat David Pepper.

Whatever the reasons for leaving Ghiz' employ, he is not, obviously look at his website, working full-time on his campaign.

He threatened others when they sought to remove him from the Blue Chip presidency.

If anyone is the Bob Shrum of local politics, it's Michael Harlow.

Just ask Sam Malone, Bouncin' Bob McEwen, Tom Brinkman, etc. Maybe if you would have a salad for lunch and skipped dessert, you'd have more energy for your clients.

Oh...that's right, your track record in politics is so pathetic that you don't have any clients anymore! Just keep blogging from your Mommy's basement!!

Scott, please do everyone a favor and stop posting anything at all on here.

You are embarassing yourself and wasting everyone's time refuting your warped version of reality. For as long as you continue to claim to be a Republican, you are also an embarassment to the party.

Do you have any idea how stupid you are making yourself look when you accuse someone of blogging from their mother's basement, when you are the one who lives in a home owned by your mother?

Not sure Harlow even managed Sam Malone's campaign, but if he did, I think Sam's belting his own son is the reason he lost. Same thing with Bob, that whole check-bouncing and Virginia thing made him a dead man. I *KNOW* for a fact he has never managed a Brinkman campaign, because I know Tom pretty well and have known all his campaign managers and senior staff.

PS- didn't Malone finish ahead of Bates in 2007?

Scott Gehring is a candidate for public office. The Enquirer runs an entry on this blog about his opponent's camapign kick-off event.

A normal person would either ignore it or use the comment function to talk about why he is a better candidate. A normal person who knew how to run a campaign wouldn't even be looking at this blog, but he would have a campaign manager and press secretary to do these things. A normal person would update his website, or have someone to update it, more than seven months after announcing he was quitting his job to give his full-time attention to this campaign.

No, Scott takes this time to bash his fellow Republicans and to make up ridiculous accusations about blogging from their mother's basements, knowing full well that they own their own homes while he is the one who lives in a home owned by his mother.

Have we heard anything about why Scott is a better candidate? No. What we have heard instead is Scott using the cloak of anonymity to make easily-disproven personal attacks against other members of his own political party.

Denise, this is better than running unopposed. Your opponent is just giving you votes by the truckload with this kind of behavior.

Sincerely,

Jacob Stephenson
