If you talking about the jail tax...how oft do we citizenry gotta put up with this rule by a few?

Elections are for the people to speak.

If we vote no, then, that should be it.

In that it is reported that the big bucks donors have exceeded by thousands that of the opposition only it remains to be seen who will vote, where, when, and how?

What part of No do not our politicians understand?

Helllooo??????

CPS will pass, only because people who rent will put it over the top.
Jail levy will fail largely due to suburban voters who figure the jail is a city problem.

Council, Cranley, Crowley, Ghiz,
Winburn, Monzel, Fischer, Borty, Thomas, Qualls

Mental Health & Elderly pass.

When are the people at 700 Walnut and the people in the Cow Chip Young Reactionaries going to stop listening to this fat-ass, lazy-ass, unemployed jerk mooching off his wife?

To anon #1 (11:37 Am)

"What part of No do not our politicians understand?"

They understand that if they don't find some way to get this done, a court will order them to do it and the voters will have no say at all.

You have your choice - jail space alone - or jail space with mental health evaluation, treatment progams, GED programs for inmates, efforts to reduce how many people come back through the system.

Which do you prefer?

If you think by defeating this it won't happen and the "voters have spoken," think again. You are dead wrong.

And if you defeat this, it will be atleast another decade before anyone will venture down the intlligent road again.

Is that what you really want?

Five councilmembers – Jeff Berding, Chris Bortz, Laketa Cole, Leslie Ghiz and Chris Monzel – forged an alliance at City Hall during the budget in December. They call themselves The Fiscal Five.

There are a lot of questions about who these people are and what they have ever accomplished.

After reviewing the public record of news reports, we have compiled a trivia test to help better inform the electorate on the facts of The Fascist Five.

True or False

1. When Cincinnati Enquirer columnist Peter Bronson named the coalition The “Fiscal” Five, he had not even seen a copy of their budget proposal, but relied on their rhetoric as fact.

2. The Fascist Five held a press conference on their budget proposal, but refused to give the press a copy, saying they would present it at the start of the finance committee that day. It turned out they never planned on presenting their budget to the finance committee.

3. The Fascist Five made up letterhead to send out announcements to the press.

4. The Fascist Five said Sheriff Leis was for a plan to spend millions on temporary “tent” jails even though Leis publicly said he was against them and would not operate one.

5. The Fascist Five told certain groups that they wanted to shut down health clinics, but told other groups that they were against closing health clinics.

Multiple Choice

a. Leslie Ghiz

e. None of the above

7. Which Fascist Five member first told the press that the group planned to shut down two-three health clinics?

a. Leslie Ghiz
b. Chris Monzel
c. Chris Bortz
d. Jeff Berding
e. None of the above

8. Which Fascist Five member told the press that the group wants to end the City’s commitment to giving human services and instead make a smaller contribution to The United Way so they don’t have to hear anymore “protests” by the people?

a. Leslie Ghiz
b. Chris Monzel
c. Chris Bortz
d. Jeff Berding
e. None of the above

9. Who first reported that The Fascist Five was plotting to get revenge on Mark Mallory, David Crowley, and John Cranley for the budget by attacking the Mayor’s appointments even though every Fascist Five member voted for it?

a. Dan Klepal
b. Kevin Osborne
c. Joe Wessels
d. Greg Flannery
e. Nate Livingston

11. Which Fascist Five member tried to steal jurisdiction of the Quality of Life Index from Cecil Thomas Law Committee and put it in the Rules Committee?

a. Leslie Ghiz
b. Chris Monzel
c. Chris Bortz
d. Jeff Berding
e. None of the above

12. When The Fascist Five went to Westwood Concern who did Republican Pete Witte say could be the next Republican nominee for mayor?

a. Leslie Ghiz

I know some of you want Garry, Jeffery, etc. to win, but I just ask that you show respect to the Cincinnati electorate. If we take each other seriously and fairly, we can just leave it up to the voters to make objective good decisions. Jeffre and Garry and other long, long shots are not bad candidates, simply inferior ones. Cincinnati will get it right... those of you who want to complain about past elections should look at some of the two faced crocks (smithermann, reese) that seemed good and then brought city hall down. Make good decisions.

i'd like to see the cps levy passed, it isn't fair to punish the kids for the evil of the blackwells.

i'd like to see the jail tax go down in flames. its wrong to think that the answer to years of conservative destruction of the social fabric and safety net is to build a bigger jail to throw people into.

Remember when Clubber Lang (played convincingly by Mr. T) was asked his prediction of the fight with Rocky Balboa in the movie Rocky III? His prediction was one word: PAIN.

That's my prediction.

Pain on city council because grand-standing kiddies like Leslie Ghiz & Jeff Berding probably hold their seats. A lunatic like Winburn probably wins. Laketa Cole (the chief diva) wins and continues her immature leadership of our fine city. Want more pain? How about radical lefty Crowley who is running on opposing the war and thinks that this issue matters to city voters. Message to Crowley: there's a war on young african american males by other young a/a males? They are killing each other on our streets. What have you done to stop that war?

Speaking of pain...this jail tax is painful. Nearly $800 of money Pepper/Portune (the tax & spenders) can spend on "programs." Ask anyone involved in criminal justice in Hamilton County if there's a LACK of programs. There are enough programs and anyone being honest in the CJ system will tell you so.

Pain. That's my prediction. Pain.

Pain because far too often good people don't get involved in government and we're left with a mayor who never rose beyond "librarian", a council candidate that beats his child, another who can't hold a job at a law firm (ghiz), another who is a schill for the biggest professional sports scam in history (berding), another who has a neanderthal's view of women and the universe (winburn), another wunderkind who thinks he's JFK but with no leadership ability (cranley)...I could go on.

Who should lead us? Roxanne Qualls, Pat Fischer, Chris Monzel, Melanie Bates, John Eby. Even Cecil Thomas and Wendell Young. I could go on.

These are adults. They pay the bills, raise families, know tragedy.

These kids with no life responsibility have ruined and will continue to ruin our fine city.

Pain.
