Democrats send out a reminder

When the mail carrier comes to the homes of African-American voters in Cincinnati Saturday, he'll be delivering a reminder from the Hamilton County Democratic Party.

A reminder that while Sam Malone and Charlie Winburn are African-Americans, they are also Republicans - which most black voters in the city are not.

Democrats are clearly worried that Winburn and Malone are going to peel off black voters, hurting the Democratic slate. So, the Democratic mail piece features smiling photos of both Malone and Winburn, flanking a photo portrait of a fellow Republican who is, most assuredly, not very popular in Cincinnati's African-American community - George W. Bush.

Message: Vote for Winburn and Malone, and you're voting for the party of President Bush.

Winburn, for his part, says he doesn't care.

"It's not like these black voters don't know I'm a Republican,'' Winburn said. "So I want to thank the Democrats for keeping my name out there."

Yup, that's us playing the race card. And be sure to vote for Issue 27 so we can put more black people in jail. Vote Democratic, we are with you!

I cannot believe that Tim Burke is afraid of any Repugnicant winning anything in Cincinnati this year, or pretty much during what remains of his lifetime.

Cincinnati has been trending Democrat for quite some time. Being that he is the chairman of the party, you might think he would have noticed. Burke, for instance, has his choice of County Commissioners to call on now, whereas just 7 short years ago, he had ZERO.

Does Bush realize how badly Bush, Blackwell, Chabot and all the other disgusting examples of human waste otherwise known as Repugnicant Politicians have been getting defeated in Cincinnati?

Doesn't he realize that the voters have finally gotten wise to the "Jesus Wants You to Vote Republican" claptrap that the So-Called Moral Majority spewed for 30 years? Doesn't he realize that working-class voters have finally figured out that Repugs who claim to "share your values" really want to "steal your job" so their rich buddies can make more money? And, oh, how does that "share your values" thing work anyway, when all the Repugs are out there trying to pick up pages, dress up as women, wear diapers, steal from the government, and try to pick up men in a bathroom? Whose "values" are those? Oh, yeah, they are the values that the Repugs and their willing accplices in the corporate media manipulated everyone into thinking Democrats held for the past 30 years!

Give me an F-ng break! There is a blue tide washing over Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio, and the U.S. of A.

If Tim Burke can't see that, he needs to step down immediately.

Puh-leeeze!

Burke ALWAYS writes a letter similar to this one a few days before council elections. It's his reminder to shore up support for the ticket.

Burke's tactics this year are bogus. Even if Berding is booted from council, the Dems could keep a majority. And it's not like that majority has actually worked together all that much this term.

Hot air.

I just changed my party affiliation from Democrat to Independent. I thought the party was above race-baiting, I guess not.

This isn't race baiting. If anything, it should be flattering. The Dems obviously think Windburn & Malone are threats to steal Dem votes, and want to remind voters that they are both conservative Republicans.

I love how the mailer looks like a French flag superimposed over the American flag.

I love subliminal politics!

good thing it wasn't an African flag!

I always find it funny that Democrats continue to insult the intelligence of African-American voters as if being born black means that your vote is therefore indebted to the Democratic Party. They continue to believe that they own us and our votes. Here you have two intelligent black men who have left the plantation and Massa Burke tries to turn the other blacks against them so that his lackeys will remain in office.

If you do your research (and you don’t have to look that hard) by looking on the history pages of the National Democratic Committee you will find that Andrew Jackson is given much credit as the founder of the Democratic Party. However you wont find that he was a slave owner, he championed legislation to remove native Americans and keep women away from the polls. You wont find that the Democrats did everything possible to black the Civil rights legislation. If you look on the GOP page you will find that they are proud of the FACT they championed the ending of slavery and women’s suffrage. You will find that the first women elected to congress was a Republican. You will find that the first Blacks for years elected to state, local and federal seats were Republican. For some reason Tim forgot to put this on his literature.

Somehow Massa Tim and all of his liberal friends never seem to put the FACTS on their literature. Why do Democrats hate it so much when African-Americans use their own minds and realize?

This is just smart campaigning. I received a Charle Winburn mailer today, and nowhere on it does it state that he's a Republican. It's obviously something he wants to not publicize!

I've changed party affiliation too. I am African American and find this terribly offensive. They party obviously wants us to remember that "George Bush hates black people" and Winburn and Malone like George Bush-so therefore they hate themselves. I wasn't going to vote for either of them but I think I'll at least vote for Winburn.

You people are crazy.

Look at the Repub tickets--heck look at the Presidential candidates. Minority candidates are generally assumed to be Democrats. This mailing is only to remind the voters that these two are not.

Race baiting? Not even close. It is simply making sure that the voters are aware of party affiliation.

Oh, and Kevin, with regards to party positions, quite a bit has changed in the last, oh, 150 years.

Yah way 2 go Burke! This is the kind of stuff we need more of in poltics. KKK Robert Byrd may not live much longer, but his spirit will live on in Tim Burke.

This is pathetic having Sam Malone's picture next to our Honorable President George W. Bush. Malone beat his son and stole money from his son's social security checks and insurance policy funds left to Christopher (his son) by his deceased mother. SICK!

Malone is a real bum.
