Jeffre, Patton unite

Justin Jeffre and Michael Earl Patton Present "The Comprehensive Neighborhood Rescue Plan"

When: Monday, October 29th, 3:45pm

Where: County Administration Building

What: City Council candidates Justin Jeffre and Michael Earl Patton will formally release their "Comprehensive Neighborhood Rescue Plan" (CNRP) as part of a press conference in the County building against the jail tax. Jeffre and Patton will travel in Justin Jeffre's MCU (Mobile Communications Unit). They will make copies of the CNRP available, as well as tours of the MCU.

Details: Among several points included in Justin Jeffre and Michael Earl Patton's Comrpehensive Neighborhood Rescue Plan, the two council candidates are calling for 90% of City jobs to go to City employees -- including the police department. The plan states that Jeffre and Patton support "[h]iring only Cincinnati residents for all future openings in every department, with a goal of city residents representing at least 90% of the work force. This policy will help keep as many Cincinnatians employed as possible and will keep more tax money in the city's economy. Although exceptions can be made for specialized positions requiring a broader search for qualified candidates, people who work for the city should live in the city. Like the trainees in the neighborhood projects, resident city employees will also have a sense of ownership that will motivate them to do their best.

98ºboy™ and Patton The Slumlord had to tag-team this one in order to come up with anything by election day 2010. What's so funny about this is that these two have no hope of getting elected to anything, including City Dog Catcher. They have no plans, no money, no supporters, no clue and no hope. Boy, when they get smashed at the pols I'm going to have a near fatal case of schadenfreude, and their sock puppet Jason Haap (the cape wearing "dean") is going to have major egg on his face!

Since only the anti tax group has permission to use the County building, I hope the Sheriff escorts them out of the building when they open their mouths about anything other than the Jail tax.

As a Green Party candidate, Jeffre needs to address how he can justify campaigning using an enoromous, gas guzzling, super polluting huge bus!

Yes, most definitely! I would appreciate justin justifying his old ass bus driving around the City of Cincinnati. Does he know how many urban children suffer asthma due to smog created by crap like da bus.

I'm sooo glad these two will be walking home while pushing that belching bus on Election Night. Laketa Cole ought to have enough muscle to give 'em a hand with that monster behemoth polluting machine.

Someone forgot to tell the Boy Band boy & the Landlord that whether one lives in the city or not, the paycheck still gets docked city taxes if one works within the city limits.

What are they going to do? Double the deductions? One for working in the city & another for living in the city. So much for their "Putting People First" baloney.

Is it November 6 yet? I'm so sick of these bad actors, I truly am.

I'm probably way over my head here but I'm pretty sure you all don't have anything to worry about what the anti-tax group will say.

I predict that Simon's helicopters (circling overhead with hooks dangling) will drowned them out. Wish I could be there. Leno should pick up on this!

Patton and Jeffre are both good guys, they've just been misguided in their stances against the safety plan.

Generally, new candidates have to make an apearance in a handful of elections before making a good showing - i applaud them for their efforts and desire to try to effect the system.

one day, they will be good, viable candidates in this big money world that has no room for the little guy.

as to their hiring plan - great idea - used to be law - got struck down by the courts and the system had to change a few years back.

however, by the city joining the wia employer program, they would be mandated to hire from "targeted population groups" which might not be based on residency, but are based on "hard to employ" factors that would accomplish the same thing.

right thought, bad strategy

Anon 12:54-Jeffre is full of bad strategies! So this should be no surprise. This is extremely unfortunate. I remember speaking to one of his volunteers who was gathering signatures for him early in the race and she was incredibly intelligent and politically well-informed.

Lately, however, it seems as though he has completely lost the support of anyone with a brain in their head.

Certainly, Jeffre has some good ideas and he is passionate about these ideas, but obviously doesn't have the ability to execute them nor does he have the skills to market them.

The bus was just the icing on the cake of a political disaster called Justin Jeffre.

Justin Jeffre should reunite with his boyfriend Nick Lachey and leave politics to the legitimate candidates on the ballot.

According to Jason Haap, Justin's attack man over at the Beacon; the best part of the "Comprehensive" plan, is the part about the Community Council Congress. The proposal reintroduces the Neighborhood Summit, which happens every February at Xavier, as their idea. BRILLIANT!

My my...lots of hate out there isn't there? Pretty personal, too. He's using a used bookmobile as a campaign office rather than using campaign donations to rent out overpriced office space downtown. Actually I think it's a pretty cool idea. The naysayers seem to dismiss him for being part of a successful music group. No one dismissed Mr. Cincinnati for being a bar owner or RQ for running her own house painting business...and they both did pretty good. I'll support a grassroots activist any day over someone who runs on the "platform" of having built-in name recognition just because they're from an old political family or their daddy was a famous doctor or US Senator. Whatever happens this Tues. I doubt we'll see Justin giving up on local activism for our community any time soon. So just keep on hating. He's not the first politician who had to overcome cynacism.

Actually, Alicia Reece did it every election year. She'd trot some kidnap van that looked like it was stolen from a Guy Who Lives In [It] Down by the River into the neighborhoods and call it her "mobile City Hall office."

JJ2K07 and MEP have apparently studied at the feet of a Master.

Well John, I think what most of us are concerned about is the fact that Justin is a GREEN party member and his actions are very hypocritical when considering who he is endorsed by and what sort of issues he is 'passionate' about.

He's not even in office and he is already playing the hypocrtical part.

If he acted like a respectable adult, a 34 year old, someone who in actuality, is older than some of the other candidates running, more people would probably take him seriously. Unfortunatly, he acts like the youngest, is the least polished, and appears as if he is the least experienced.

No one would bring up the boyband thing, or atleast it would have died off a little, if he didn't play the 'washed up boyband member" part. If he didn't want that label, he should have thought about that before marketing himself that way, and before bringing Nick Lackey into his campaigning strategy.

No one suggested Justin stop being an activist. He's a fine activist that doesn't make him a good leader or an able public servant. It simply means he likes to be loud and cause trouble.

PLEASE don't compare Justin to Ms. Reece, who is more educated, polished and politically experienced than Justin. Not to mention, wasn't endoresed by the GREENS!

8/34 November 1st...Thank you anoynomous blogger... who wants to trash Justin Jeffre for running for City Council. Well guesswhat? My name is John Freie and I have the guts to post my real name. Telling him that he doesn't act like a respectable candidiate...I have to ask what the heck do you do? You call him "washed up?"...seriously stupid comment...he works tirelessly for the benefit of this city..without fanfare...I still cringe from the times I had to campaign to make sure all citizens were created equally regardless of who they are. This city had a bad blight on itself for years. Article 12 made us look so stupid and too many people caved over an issue that caved over it's own weight. Somthing all Cincinnatians should recognize is that Justin supports small business. Isn't that what it's all about? My name is John Freie and I consider myself "Old School Cincinnati"....what do I mean bythat? I guess I mean that I feel like the fog horns of the Ohio River barges are always gonna be in my head and the water from the Tyler Davidson Fountain is always gonna be like the blood that flows through my Cincinnati veins. I'm Old School. Justin Jeffre is Old School. Besides being a good friend and a good guy...he's one one heck of a good Green party candidate. LONG LIVE CINCINNATI!!!!

John, by "Old School", do you mean you and Justin are hysterically funny spoofs, posing as serious minded citizens?

Thank you John, I nearly stopped reading this blog forum until I came upon your posting. Is it not a shame that Justin is so far ahead of all these posters when it comes to insight into the corruption going on in Cincinnati politics that only the few with a good business head on their shoulders can see that. I am a small business owner and I hate to think that the Citizens of Cincinnati just voted for more of the same. Wake up and notice the exodus of small business from the city.
