For my money, honesty is one of the most important qualifications for my vote. The jury's still out on this deal but I'm guessing Laketa is toast.

BTW, the same "honesty" qualification is what is missing from Portune/Leis/Pepper/Deters.

Finally! A train wreck. The Cole Train is finished. It certainly took long enough.

This is nothing but slum trash stuff that's televised on the Jerry Springer Show.

Cole's side of the story doesn't pass the sniff test; there's another report that states Cole called the other woman up & invited her to Cornelius Scroggins' home.

Meanwhile, Corny has bench warrants & he's past due on property taxes.

Goodbye to Laketa Cole. Maybe the voters will wake up & fill her seat with someone who has a shred of decorum & some sense to conduct themselves in a dignified manner. She wrecked her own campaign.

Someone needs to get an interview with Whitney Fields. I want to hear her side of the story. Anyone who knows Laketa knows about her terrible anger issues. That's why she can't keep staff.

Personal situation my foot! Cole's a public official, elected by the public; her paycheck is from the public. She opened her yap to the media, which makes it the public's right to know. And to know the full truth. If, in fact, she lied about the police, she owes them a formal, open, public apology.

Anon 8:31, you betcha Cole's had passes in the past. I thought about it today - remember Christmas 2004 with all the snow & Darryl Brock was soooo slow in getting the streets plowed?

Cole held a public hearing on the snow emergency. That elderly lady from Roselawn who needed medicine desperately for her husband got no sympathy from Cole & Reece.

As a matter of fact, I believe it was Reece who glibly stated that if it weren't for Cole & her 4 wheel drive, neither one of them would have been able to finish their holiday shopping.

Both of them sat on their perches so smug & full of themselves. I didn't like either one of them at the get-go & I vowed that neither of them would ever get my support or my vote, no matter what they said or what they did.

I'll never forget that holiday, nor will I forget the chaos incompetent people caused in this city & their crass remarks.

Reece is gone & now it's time to get rid of Cole. No better time than November 6!

yes indeed...it's best that this type of trashy news not make it into the public forum to base a decision on whether to re-elect this woman to council.We should be made to "be in the dark" on this one...oh by the way...FDR was in a wheelchair in case you didn't want to know.

um, coupla points:

1. Why? Laketa Cole must be the only person in Cincinnati politics, including the bloggers, to have not heard of www.courtclerk.org. Is she going to claim knowledge denial regarding her suitor's arrest and warrant records?

2. Everybody up and down the city hall food chain knows how venal, nasty and selfish Cole is. She's taken only child syndrome to an extreme.

3. She invites the ex over for dinner so she can see how happy the guy is with her? Can you say "solipsism"?

4. The public finally knows what an outright idiot Cole is. Seriously: she's not very bright. But I'll bet the CincyPACkers still back 'er. Sean Parker's in loooooove (but maybe not with Cole).

Ah, running for and serving in a public office means your life is a public affair, if one does not like it, there are other lines of 'work' out there.

While this may be a slightly 'trashy' piece I think the public has the right to know what kind of people we are electing to 'serve' our interests.

Looking at one's personal life and personal decision making abilities is a great way to see what kind of 'leadership skills' (or lack thereof) one has to bring into this city. That's just plain common sense.

If Ms. Cole was serious about her seat on City Council, she should have done a little research on the boyfriend and stayed away from the drama. Nov. 6 isn't that far away!

Someone actually suggested that FDR's wheelchair was comparable to this situation. That's pretty incredible. Because we all know that FDR deserved that wheelchair. How dare you. Laketa Cole, as anyone who's ever had any sustained interaction with her would know, is an unstable, irrational, unreasonable, fraction of a public servant. She can't control her temper and she has no grasp on what the public in Cincinnati really need. IT'S ALWAYS ABOUT HER. IT'S NEVER ABOUT HER CONSTITUENTS. I hope she's reading this, b/c if this situation isn't a wake up call for her, then I don't know what could be. Is this the kind of person that we want representing our interests on Council?

Reece pulled the same in alienating other communities. One of her pets was Evingston.

Yeah, it's too bad that Cole isn't privy to the Clerk of Courts records AND the County Auditor's records. Her man is also behind in his property taxes, coupled with those bench warrants.

Reece is gone & Cole is on the way out. I don't think there's been any truthful explanations, nor a withdrawal of the endorsement by the Enquirer.

I think here's what's really wrong with this: a woman who elbows in on a relationship when the woman is pregnant. i think this speaks to her family values and what kind of example is she setting for other women, black women especially, about respecting each other? I mean, geez, there's a child involved now - it's bad enough to take someone else's man - but to interfer in a troubled relationship when a child is involved is morally repugnant.
(And, i don't care if the pregnant woman is a total loon - people need to get to know about someone before theylie with them)

Someone please pass on to Laketa that we, the people, are still awaiting the recommended "full explanation." Should we just rely on the negative information which has been reported regarding the incident? It is not just going to go away and the lack of a full explanation from her is only serving to make me more curious about what else might have gone on. She's dreaming if she thinks that the incident won't affect her campaign. Scratching someone in the face....is she an adult or a Jr.High school girl?

I spent almost 10 years with this man, I got smart and left 2 years ago. I could give you, the papers and the public, stories you would not believe PRO BONO. He is a selfish deceitful and self centered man. And from what I hear about Laketa, they may be made for each other! Some women are drawn to "bad" boys...but my goodness...how bad can it get?
