What, no Simon Leis? I wonder why they don't want to make him the face of the pro-tax movement. His ethics are beyond reproach, don't you know?

Off topic; but, this just out:

"If a university invites someone to speak, you know the faculty agrees with the speaker."

The above quote was from that:

coulter faggot

Cincinnati and the Xavier incidence must have gotten under the, wRong wingnut whacko, dude's jock-strap !

Shim wants to rant and rave, spewing the elephant dung propaganda, because the opposition raised more money than her crony racists could raise to pay her !

If shim were not a racist why would shim title the article:

Tase Him Bro !

Too bad 'bold endeavors' isn't a vile, wRong wingnut whacko !

Apparently, third-grade drop-outs buy into that stuff !

PATHETIC HypocRites !

Good - maybe now we can start debating facts instead of the stupid rhetoric and kids' games that are being played by COAST and the other FRINGE ELEMENTS, et al to defeat the biggest criminal justice reforms this region has seen in over 2 decades.

Isn't any body else tired of the status quo - I keep remembering Sister Carol Marie from 6th grade: IF you keep doin' what you're doin', you'll keep gettin' what you're gettin'

That's all their is to it : I'm tired of the crime, I'm tired of the deteriorization of my neighborhood, I'm tired of watching neighbors move away, I'm tired of having to have curfews, I'm tired of the revolving door, I'm tired of supporting improvements in Butler County, I'm tired of feeling guilty because the mentally ill and addicted can't get the "hook up" with proper care, I'm tired of the band-aids, I'm tired of seeing Leis' foot in his mouth, I'm tired of seeing Deters lying low, I'm tired of my property values going down because people are too greedy to throw a dime in the hat...

They're just getting started and I'm already tired and fed up.

Pony up or shut up.

Looks like we have the, wRong wingnut whacko, NAZi party (tnp) 'schmidty' plagiarist on the 'cut and run' again !

Perhaps, another colon rink-a-dink an elephant dew cleanser would relieve their toxicity ?

When wRong wingnut whacko have no ideas of their own they engage in weak attempts of 'cheney" shot the messenger, pathetic spin, and plagiarism where they 'cut and run' !

Oh, it is hard to be humble when 'bold endeavors' becomes the wRong wingnut whacko's number one threat !

Emulation is the highest form of flattery !

Thanks for placing us on that blogger pedestal !

PATHETIC HypocRites !

HAD ENOUGH, VOTE, for a real, DEMOCRAT 2007 and JEFFRE !

As my last act in the White House, I asked Dick, 'shoot em up, Cheney if he could help me break into the 'fishwRap' blog and post you this.

You see I've been watching 'bold endeavors' and let me say I'm a bit concerned. Over the past eight months 'True Americans' in the House have made life for my wRong wingnut whacko friends and me difficult -- issuing subpoena after subpoena. This has got to stop.

"True Americans" have only been able to take these actions because people like 'bold endeavors' have been backing them up.

On behalf of Dick Cheney, I order you not to listen to that "schmidt'y" elephant dung propaganda !

For six years the wRong wingnut whackos in Congress let George, Dick and me get away with every trick in the book. Making up stuff about weapons of mass destruction, revealing the identity of a covert agent to get revenge on her husband, firing US Attorneys who went after our wRong wingnut whacko cronies; we did it all. If wRong wingnut whackos were in power we'd still be getting away with it.

I wish it could go back to the way it was. I would do some wild and crazy stuff and the 'fishwrap' would help me sweep it under the rug. But with committee chairmen like Henry Waxman and John Conyers now leading investigations into our actions, being in the White House just wasn't as fun anymore. That's why I headed home to Texas.

In fact, 'True Americans' have held more oversight hearings in eight months than my wRong wingnut whacko cronies held in six years. 'True Americans" are only able to take these actions because they have a committed set of 'bold endeavors' standing with them. That's why it's so vital you NOT contribute to the elephant dung propaganda !

Insincerely,

Karl Rove

P.S. This message is obviously a parody, compose utilizing mean jean 'schmidt'y' plagiarism.

PATHETIC HypocRites !

HAD ENOUGH, VOTE DEMOCRAT 2007 !

The sheriff was out of town today I understand.

I hate to break it to you, but it isn't a fringe element that is against this plan. It is rational people that want better solutions to things other than hoisting a super sized tax increase onto the public.

at 7:27 PM, September 27, 2007 Anonymous Anonymous said...

Is this the same State Rep. Bill Seitz who voted for Bob Taft's Sales Tax hike to solve our state's problems? The same Bill Seitz who endorses every other tax hike on the ballot?

Vote Yes on 27, because Bill Seitz says it'll do for our county what Bob Taft's Sales Tax hike did for our state!

You can't throw smiles and good intentions at a Super Size problem like our violent crime rate, our number of homeless people and addicted not receiving services, and 300 overflow inmates on a continuing basis.

If you know a way to fix these kinds of super sized problems without funding - I'm all ears - but no one has been able to put forth any other realistic solution in 2 decades - just bandaids.(as they say)

anyone other than anon 2:45 want to actually TALK about this plan, or are we just going to have to read juvenile comments?

Name me any other time in this city and county that you've had both sides of the political isle come together as one on an issue. Last time around, people stated that they voted against the issue because all it had was a jail. This time around, there is much, much more than just a jail - there is an oversite committee to make sure programs are working, areas that are addressed such as recidivism (70% in Hamilton County), things to help past prisoners back into society, and working with juveniles to hopefully stop the cycle of crime and violence.
What has the "other" side proposed? Nothing.
Go spend a few days down at the Courthouse. Do a ride-along or two with the police (do a power shift on Friday or Saturday). Then come back and tell me we don't need EVERYTHING that is included in this proposal.

Then tell me how to do it without the sales tax increase.

Look - I hate taxes as much as the next person. But there comes a time when one has to bite the bullet for the better good. This is one of those times. We WILL have to stop sending inmate to Butler County at the end of the year if this doesn't pass. We have no extra money in the county budget - we're already at a deficit. We have things, by law, that we must fund.

Again - give me a better solution.

Or vote YES for Issue 27.

There's no inbetween.

Just vote no. Crime is going down...there is surplus jail space in several places.

The only thing left will be a big social service program.

Go down to the courthouse and tell any of the judges there are "surplus" space in the jail.

Then let me know their response to you.

Why does this jail cost $100 million more than necessary to do the same things Butler County did with their new facility? There's a story that needs developing. This plan is a huge waste of taxpayer dollars.

Why does this jail cost $100 million more than necessary to do the same things Butler County did with their new facility?

Because the issue is not just for a jail - it's for programs concerning safety and crime that the voters insisted they wanted to see in conjunction with the jail.

Take a look at the link for Issue 27 site and you'll see the other things in the safety plan.

anon 7:51 - you seem like a reasonable person. Question in my mind >> MAJOR money to "solve" the root causes >> What are the proposals >>

WHERE HAVE THEY WORKED PREVIOUSLY?

I have -0- faith in Pepper/Portune "solutions"
!?

The absolute last thing is a "Portune" (and company) "sale" of this deal.

at 11:57 AM, September 29, 2007 Anonymous Anonymous said...

anonymous 3:20 you dodged my question. Our jail would cost $198 million for 1800 beds, at a cost of $110,000 per bed. Butler County recently built a new 800 bed jail for $35 million, which cost them around $44,000 per bed.

Factor in inflation, we're still paying a good 55,000 per bed more than Butler County did for their state-of-the-art jail. Multiplied over 1800 beds, that means we the taxpayers are being overcharged by $100 million for the jail alone, and that's before we get to the rest of the spending programs in this levy.

This is fiscal recklessness at its finest. This story needs investigating.

at 1:53 PM, September 29, 2007 Anonymous Anonymous said...

The jail itself, not including the $600 million worth of social programs and spending costs more than twice as much per bed as Butler County's new state of the art facility. It is projected to cost $110,000 per bed, where Butler County built in 2002 for only $47,000 per bed. For anyone who thinks this tax will go away after 15 years, you should take a lesson in history. Once these programs are in place and people are hired to do those jobs and they are used to this revenue, do you really think they will stop? This is a seriously flawed, super sized plan.

at 8:06 PM, September 29, 2007 Anonymous Anonymous said...

The tax must "go away" in 15 years of at least have another vote to keep it on. That's the law. It cannot be a permanent tax.

I don't know the costs of the Butler County jail, building, running, etc. The "costs" in the Comprehensive plan are for building AND running the jail.

Plus all the other programs.

We WILL have a new jail sooner or later. Would you rather have a chance to have some say so in how the money is collected to pay for it, or would you rather wait until we have no say so, and have already existing programs be cut to pay for it. That IS what will happen if this issue doesn't pass.

Pepper said we will be a national model for dealing with repeat criminals - that's a huge, difficult, nationwide problem.
I'd be thrilled with just matching something that actually worked elsewhere! David, Todd??

I'd vote for this if Pepper/Portune can seriously explain this - I won't be holding my breath.

at 4:02 PM, October 01, 2007 Anonymous Anonymous said...

I'm still waiting for one of the anti-jail people - any of them - to propose a feasible plan for a permanent solution. To date all I've heard is a bunch of whining about how outrageous a half-cent sales tax increase is and about how there has to be a better way to solve the jail problem.

If there has to be a better way, why hasn't anyone come forward with one?

Hey, I have a couple of questions. I received an email from Citizens for a Safe Community - who are they and who's funding them? [And who's giving out my email address?] I looked at their website and it's very anonymous - suspiciously so.

And I was under the impression that crime has been going down for about 15 years, give or take. Like in "Serious violent crime levels declined since 1993 as measured by the National Crime Victimization Survey" and "Property crimes continued to decline as measured by the National Crime Victimization Survey" according to whitehouse dot gov Federal Government Statistics > Crime page.

Any chance the Enquirer will look into what the trends are here? Exactly who's being locked up - what percentage traffic offenses, what percentage property crimes, violent crimes, drug offenses, etc.

Can't help but notice that now that prisons have become profit centers, the number of people being locked away is going straight up and there's an urgent need for room to grow and a big rush to get it done with NO discussion of exactly who's being locked up, what for, and for what length of time. And if there's any alternative for some.

C'mon, Enquirer. This is your job. Can't we get some data to go along with all the fear-mongering?
