Eby's "Bittersweet Symphony"

John Eby's new YouTube video starts with a picture of him and the rest of the 115 kids in his elementary school class at St. Williams in Price Hill, 1976. It's a prop Eby has used before - the picture, with blue dots over the faces of everyone who left the city. There are dots over all but seven faces.

The ad says people left because they wanted good schools, affordable houses and streets that are safe and clean. It says there's one boy in the second row (Eby) who says he's running for council to try to restore those "non-negotiables" so he doesn't have to leave, too.

See the video on his Web site, http://www.johneby.com/.

Jane's still carrying Eby's water. This is obviously another effort by a sophomoric reporter (stenographer) to give an equally sophomoric candidate more press. Hopefully Eby will retire after his defeat. Wish the same were true for Jane.

"Oh, it's hard to humble when your revered in soooooo many ways !..."

Does hard to = hard to be ?

Come on mean jean cronies, when you 'cut and run' the plagiarisms, you need to right click, move mouse over entire work of art, copy plagiarized work !

Then:

Right click, paste entire plagiarized work of art !

We must have the cronies stomach all knotted up ?

I love when people act like posting something on this blog is the Enquirer "giving more press" to someone. Six people read this and they all already have an opinion of John Eby. Settle down.

Six people left comments, you don't know how many read the blog and wondered WTF?

Eby is the kind of candidate we need on City Council - he's not in this to advance his career...he's in this for the good of the city.

It's a shame there aren't more candidates like Eby.

If Eby wants to do such good for the City will he dedicate the next TWO years to the City and City Council as a FULL TIME Councilmember like Pavelish. Isn't there much work to be done in the City to have potential leaders treat Council as a second job?? Part time government doesn't do it any more. Check the poverty rate... Check the declining neighborhoods... Check the school system...

From Eby's website:
"In 2000 John was elected, as a first-time candidate, to the Westwood Civic Association. He chaired the housing committee for one year, and then resigned to accept a board position with the Westwood Community Urban Redevelopment Corporation. This group promotes development of the Westwood business district, markets the community beyond its borders and creates working relationships with housing developers."

Why would I vote for someone for Cincinnati City Council who couldn't even get things done in Westwood? Wasn't it around 2000 that Westwood really went downhill?

No thank you Mr. Eby. I don't want you to turn the entire city of Cincinnati into one big Westwood!
