Sales tax survey out

Crime is a top concern of Hamilton County voters and whether they support the sales tax to build a new jail and fund safety programs will depend on how the proposal is worded.

Voters will decide Nov. 6 whether to approve a 15-year sales tax increase to fund a Comprehensive Safety Plan (which includes the new jail, the expansion of the juvenile jail building and funding of several new safety programs.)

According to a survey done by Lake Research Partners, if the tax is described to voters as "temporary" and the plan "comprehensive" with notations that it puts police on streets, expands youth intervention programs etc., it would pass and be supported by a majority of both Democrats and Republicans.

The survey also has some interesting findings on which elected officials are popular and which ones aren't.

The survey was paid for by Commissioner David Pepper.

Read the executive summary here.

.

We feel that the majority voice is not being heard, as the majority sought and received a Democratic leadership commission !

They were elected to make the difficult decisions !

The wRong wingnut whacko da da da whine, for political vengeance, has become an obstructionist !

The safety plan is unique and was never before the voters before !

If this plan had been before the voter it would have passed because those that voted NO (us included), would have voted YES !

Since, this issue was never before the voters, in our humble opinion, there were thirty days to gather signatures for a referendum, NOT forty-five !

We only wish the ballot initiative had been challenged with legal complaints filed !

Instead, all we hear is the da da da whiners and the waste of tax-payer funds !

PATHETIC HYPOCRITES !

HAD ENOUGH, VOTE DEMOCRAT 2007 !

Didn't I read this a day or two ago in City Beat?

This is clearly a biased poll. Why don't they release the full results unless they are trying to hide something?

Can someone in the psychiatric ward please medicate the "all italics, all exclamation points, all the time" foot-tapping liberal moonbat who posted above?

Your revolution is over, Mr. Moonbat. Condolences. The bums lost. My advice is to do what your parents did; get a job, sir. The bums will always lose. Do you hear me, Moonbat? The bums will always lose!

If by brighter minds you mean pollsters, well - ok.

Are you really impressed though that a polling company paid to do a poll by Pepper comes out with a result that is favorable to him?

Why would Pepper or anyone else pay money to a top, national polling company to do a poll that only told them what they wanted to hear?

They could just call 100 friends if they wanted to cook the books.

I've dealt with these polling companies - and i'll tellyou - they will not sacrifice their reputations to a cooking of the books. When I sought to have polling done that would benefit my interests, they flat out said, only if they can release what the real question is so that everyone knows what is being measured ( as is allluded to here by the reporter) which means - this polling company wasn't a fix - it was straight forward.
If it's a 'fixed" poll, they don't release the question.
THis one was clean and in my reading, it says if voters understand it - they'll support it --- overwhelmingly

Can someone in the psychiatric ward please medicate the repeat-posting, righty wingnut who posted above?

Your republican revolution is over, Mr. Wingnut. Condolences. The republicans are a group of hypocritical bums and they lost. My advice is to do what your parents did; pay your fair share of taxes and stop b*tching, sir. You are bums who will always lose. Do you hear me, Wingnut? The republicans are bums who will always lose!
