Voinovich getting it from both sides

Ohio's senior senator, George Voinovich, is getting it from both the left and the right on the subject of Iraq.

Which, we suppose, is only to be expected when you write a letter to the president one week suggesting maybe it is time to bring the troops home and, the next week, vote against allowing a troop withdrawal plan to go forward.

Progress Ohio and American Against Escalation in Iraq have been thumping Voinovich regularly from the left for weeks, hoping to push him completely over the edge and into the get-out-now camp.

Now it's the right's turn.

MoveAmerciaForward.org, a California-based group that support the Bush administration's war policies, is planning to launch nationwide caravan to drum up support for the war that will reach Cincinnati on Sept. 12 - about the time Gen. David Petraeus is expected to deliver his Iraq progress report.

They're hoping to put pressure on Voinovich to stick with Bush and the troop surge in Iraq.

One of the group's leaders is a retired Air Force colonel, Buzz Patterson, author of a book which argues that liberals are undermining the war on terror and the former White House military aide who carried the "nuclear football" when Bill Clinton was president.

You can't have a war on terror, it's tactic that naybody can engage in. The US engages in acts of terrorism all the time. Leveling a city like Fullujah is terrorism. Secret gulags and toture camps is terror.

The best way for the US to end terrorism is to stop engaging in it. We wouldn't be so hated around the world if we stopped our imperial foriegn policy.

The perpetual war for perpetual peace is nothing more than a racket dreamed up by the war profiteers and oil pirates from the military industrial complex.

This is predictable, since Voinovich is such a intimidatable lightweight.

I'm surprised you think it's news - or at least novel - that "liberals are undermining the war on terror." Get out of your bubble!

"Liberals are undermining the war on terror," huh? Is that what the right-wing talk radio told you? Well, here are the facts:

69 percent of Americans disapprove of the way Pres Bush is handling the situation with Iraq.

66 percent think we should remove some or all of the troops from Iraq.

53 percent think the "surge" has had no impact on the situation in Iraq.

63 percent think Congress should set a timetable for the withdrawal of US troops.

51 percent think that Bush manipulates terrorism issues for political gain.

The fact of the matter is, the Democrats are the ones in touch with mainstream America on Iraq. It's the Republicans who are playing to the extremist ideologues in their party.

The US was attacked in our homeland on 9/11/01 after suffering an accelerating series of hostilities over the previous 15 or 20 years, all at the hands of the thugs and murderers of Islamo-Fascism. President Bush is the ONLY ONE with the cahunas to take the undeclared war to the enemy on his turf. Phase I was and is Afghanistan. Phase II was and is Iraq. Hold onto your hats, because Phase III is just around the corner, and it won't be pretty.
But as ugly as this and all wars are, there are things in life that are much, much worse--loss of liberty, living in constant fear of attack, slavery, watching loved ones abused or starved or enslaved.
War is a necessary condition of human survival on this planet, and the war against the thugs and murderers of Radical Islam is no different. Win in Iraq! Vanquish the enemy! It's the only way to ensure the peace. It may take years or even decades, just as the Cold War did. But it must be done.
And you pro-abortion cut and run socialists may well wake up to the hard, cold facts of the danger we're in when and if one of the thugs or murderers sets off a one-kiloton nuke in the downtown of the city your children or grandchildren live in, may it never, ever happen!

RUN, FRED, RUN!

Voinovich doesn't know which end is up anymore. He does know that both he and the criminal enterprise some call his political party are finished.

TNP,

Your rants are always so inspiring...NOT! When are you going to wake up to the simple fact that we (all Americans) are losing the once great country that all of our ancestors fought and died for? Remember that thing called the U.S. Constitution? Your buddies Bush/Cheney/Gonzales etc. are doing their best to totally dismantle it and you stand by ignorantly cheering them on.

For a wake up call why don't you visit www.patriotsquestion911.com.

Here's a sample of just two of the quotes:

Lt. Col. Shelton F. Lankford, U.S. Marine Corps (ret)
– Retired U.S. Marine Corps fighter pilot with over 300 combat missions flown. 21-year Marine Corps career.

Letter to the Editor 2/5/07: Regarding 9/11 "Our government has been hijacked by means of a "new Pearl Harbor" and a lot of otherwise good and decent people who are gullible enough to think that the first three steel-framed buildings in history fall down because they have some fires that the fire fighter on the scene said could be knocked down with a couple of hoses and through which people walked before they were http://www.patriotsquestion911.com/survivors.html#Cintron where the plane hit. One of these - http://www.whatreallyhappened.com/IMAGES/WTC7_Collapse.wmv , was never hit by a plane and even NIST is ashamed to advance a reason for its collapse. And, miracle of miracles, these three buildings just happened to be leased and insured by the same guy who is on tape saying they decided to "PULL" the last one to fall.

[Editor's note: WTC Building 7 was 610 feet tall, 47 stories, and was not hit by an airplane. It would have been the tallest building in 33 states. However, no mention of its collapse appears in the 9/11 Commission's "full and complete account of the circumstances surrounding the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks." Watch the collapse video http://www.whatreallyhappened.com/IMAGES/WTC7_Collapse.wmv. And 5 1/2 years after 9/11, the Federal government has yet to publish its promised final report that explains the cause of its collapse.]

Col. Robert Bowman, PhD, U.S. Air Force (ret – Director of Advanced Space Programs Development under Presidents Ford and Carter.  U.S. Air Force fighter pilot with over 100 combat missions. (PhD in Aeronautics and Nuclear Engineering, Cal Tech).   Former Head of the Department of Aeronautical Engineering and Assistant Dean at the U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology.  Also taught Mathematics and English at the University of Southern California, the University of Maryland, and Phillips University.

Video 9/11/04: "A lot of these pieces of information, taken together, prove that the official story, the official conspiracy theory of 9/11 is a bunch of hogwash. It’s impossible. … There’s a second group of facts having to do with the cover up. … Taken together these things prove that high levels of our government don’t want us to know what happened and who’s responsible.… Who gained from 9/11? Who covered up crucial information about 9/11? And who put out the patently false stories about 9/11 in the first place?  When you take those three things together, I think the case is pretty clear that it’s highly placed individuals in the administration with all roads passing through Dick Cheney. I think the very kindest thing that we can say about George W. Bush and all the people in the U.S. Government that have been involved in this massive cover-up, the very kindest thing we can say is that they were aware of impending attacks and let them happen. Now some people will say that’s much too kind, however even that is high treason and conspiracy to commit murder." http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-6900065571556128674

Anonymous at 5:32 pm, 7/31/07, while you are chasing your tail around the never-ending 9/11 conspiracy flagpole, the thugs and murderers of Islamic Fascism are actually conspiring to kill you and your family and friends. But never fear. Those of us who understand the cold, harsh realities of the war we've been dragged into will protect your sorry ass at the same time that we defend ourselves and our families and our nation. I don't know who is farther around the bend, you or the fruitcake I call BS in Bold. But in the final analysis it doesn't really matter. He will persist in his irrational blithering, and you will insist that the federal government was behind the 9/11 catastrophe. I'm just grateful to God, literally, that I'm not either of you.

hey, how about that tillman coverup? did kuccinich give em hell or what?

Kucinich was fantastic in his questioning of Rumsfeld. So now we have General Kensinger refusing to testify regarding this Tillman story. More contempt for 'the rule of law' in our country. How nice.
