POWR PAC Endorses Nine

In case you missed it in the paper this morning, the West Side's POWR PAC released its list of people it wants you to vote for for Cincinnati City Council.

Pete Witte, president of Price Hill Civic Club and one of the activists who interviewed 18 candidates, said the factors included the candidates' opinions on "holding the line on property taxes" and whether the endorsers felt they would be "effective-type people," people who eventually could put bickering aside and work together for the West Side.

Read the story here.

Are Jeff Berding and Chris Bortz CAPABLE of quitting their bickering? I doubt it.

Well, 8 out of 9 isn't bad. Ice Cream Boy is such a freaking joke, he cannot possibly get re-elected. He is a two-time loser, soon to be a three-time loser.

Note to Bradford and Christa: I bet Mike Schrimpf can get you in at Home Depot.

So they endorse Ghiz, Berding, and Bortz?

Did you guys interview Pat Fischer? I heard him speak recently and was very impressed. He seems to have the maturity we need on council. Plus, he seemed genuine in just wanting to help the city. Not just a stepping stone in a career.

Go John Eby!

We interviewed Fisher. But he put everyone to sleep and when we woke up he was gone; someone said it was past his bedtime.

Big surprise-- Eby, the west side "dur-de-dur", gets endorsed by a west side PAC. Didn't help him last time. As long as Berding keeps pulling his strings, he's toast.

So Pete Witte and Mary Kuhl are endorsing Leslie Ghiz after she had someone forge their names to letters supposedly blasting Monzel? I want their endorsement, too. Maybe I should go egg their homes.

They simply endorsed the folks they figured would win, and then they can say they helped them win. The one likely winner they couldn't bring themselves to endorse was Crowley, so they propped up their homeboy Eby.

I actually think Monzel and Thomas will not get re-elected, and possibly not Crowley (the GOP will try and take him down). I see Harris, Bates and Windburn as the winning non-incumbents, and then Ghiz, Cranely, Crowley, Bortz, Berding, Cole. Cooper is too sick to wage a campaign.

You obviously didn't interview Fischer or you would have heard that he has real ideas of how to change this city, not just a loud mouth trying to get his face on tv. Sick of all the showboats on council now. I'm a democrat and Pat Fischer came to our community council meeting recently to talk about how he made a difference on crime in his neighborhood. Hope he can do the same for our whole city!

Endorsing nine is a good way to water-down the influence.

The Power Pac only endorsed Eby over Fischer because Eby is from the West Side. They know that Monzel and Eby's republican competition is Fischer and want to downplay his strengths. Anyone who has met Fischer realizes that he'd bring much needed bi-partisan change to Council. The work he did in Pleasant Ridge demonstrates that he can work with both parties to get real work done in our communities.

Pat Fischer hasn't done anything to get elected besides collect 1000 dollar checks at KMK. He hasn't been at any festivals, has barely been in the west side at all and then expects POWRPAC's help. He is a harvard educated, east side loving lawyer with a huge personality problem.
