New developments in jail tax

The Wedemandavote folks say they actually have until Monday, July 16, instead of next Friday. They say the law gives them 45 days to gather names, rather than 30.

To be safe, they're going to submit them on (gulp) Friday the 13th of July.

Meanwhile, the Cincinnati Chamber has endorsed the tax:

The Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber today announced its support for the Comprehensive Safety Plan advanced by Hamilton County Commissioners Todd Portune and David Pepper. The Chamber recognizes that a new Hamilton County jail and enhanced treatment services for offenders is a key component to reducing crime in this region.

“Reducing crime is a top regional priority,” said Ellen van der Horst, president and CEO of the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber. `

Must be doing real well to change their own deadline.

Better be careful -- it it's 30 (because this plan is different than last November's plan), you'll miss it entirely.

Where exactly does Miss Van Der Horts live anyway?

Gee, what a suprise! The rich white folks want the poor to pay for a new jail to where they will be locked up in. The Chamber is filled with scoundrals.

They knew it was 45 days all along. They just wanted volunteers to hustle.

No doubt in a McMansion, in a Township, no crime, no Section 8, no homeless, no so-called poor, no million dollar criminals, no worthless slumlords, no failing schools & a large bonus - a police department that doesn't have its gonads bound up by a criminal Collaborative agreement negotiated by a lawyer cracked up & drunked out.

Answer your question, Anon? Right on, my friend!

Seems like the plan to have them hustle was a great success.

Brinkman and his crew usually pay people to collect signatures - this time he has slave labor doing it for free and against their own best interests - great tactic.
They'll be laughing their way right to the front page on the backs of poor blacks doing their dirty work and then throwing them in jail.
Pathetic

This will give Brinkman & COAST more time to create bogus signatures. I am sure Mickey Mouse & Donald Duck are against the new jail.

Perhaps, the BOE will suggest someone go back to law school and kiss their 'finney fanny' !

OOps, filing out of time !
