Harris Quoted in the New York Times today

When he's not campaigning for City Council, Greg Harris works at his day job in policy with the KnowledgeWorks Foundation, Ohio's largest education philanthropy.

He's talking about a Dayton high school that's becoming a charter school under the University of Dayton's control. KnowledgeWorks provided some funding for the school.

Education and influence over Cincinnati Public Schools was a huge issue in the mayoral race in 2005. I'd like to know more about Harris' position on charter schools. Is he for stripping public schools of their funding to fund private, for-profit charter schools that have no accountability for performance or educational standards? Come on Jane. How about a little reporting here? Instead of just linking to another publication.

Well, anonymous, seeing as Harris' quote faults Ohio's flawed school finance system for forcing DECA to have to leave the district and become a Charter, I'd say you can pretty well infer his position. Instead of criticizing Jane, you may want to read the article.

Also, I just looked at their website, it appears KnowledgeWorks Foundation focuses on public schools.

Greg's makes his living in public policy everyday. What other council candidate can truly focus on policy rather than sound bites? Not many...

Go go Greg!
