Walking in CUF with Cole
Councilwoman Laketa Cole, with other city officials, walks in Clifton Heights, University Heights and Fairview Heights at 1 p.m. Wednesday. She invites people to ask her office to set up a walk in any neighborhood or business district. They're chances, she says, to show off things residents are proud of as well as to point out problems they want help with.
Meet in the parking lot adjacent to old St. George Church, at Vine and Calhoun streets.
If you want your neighborhood walked next, call her office and someone will set it up: 352-3946.

How many times has she done this within the last two years?
Shouldn't she stay downtown with her corp. friends in the CBD rather than neighborhood biz districts?
Makes me wonder if this tour is for her re-election.
Prob so.
Will Jeff Berding's shadow be walking with her??
I'm sure Laketa was walking with her new buddy Jeff Berding. I wonder if they might even become a couple with how close they have gotten.
Why is Cole's council office handling what is essentially campaign work? And what about predominantly white neighborhoods? Cole's probably avoiding them since her constituents are the city's African-Americans.
A Berding/Cole wedding with John Eby and Leslie Ghiz as the best man and maid of honor.
Maybe even Heimlich can officiate since he seems to be desperate for work.
WOW... I am amazed at the cynics here... I know for a fact that Cole does these every summer.
Why is Laketa Cole walking where a lot of white people live? A few weeks ago she said her constituency is the African-American community so why not walk there with the only people she represents?
Laketa's a racist.
Wonder what Laketa and Berding's kid will look like
I am amazed by some of the comments. Let me be clear I have been doing neighborhood walks since 2003 and I conduct neighborhood walks in any and every neighborhood that request one. No this is not campaign work, I am the Chair person of the Neighborhood Committee, how can I know what is going on in the neighborhood if I do not go to the neighborhood. If your community wants a walk you can sign up via the city's website. The walks give citizens an opportunity to not just meet with me about issues, but the administration. We are provided a chance to see first hand what the issues are and how we can work with the citizens in that community to resolve them.
So Im not sure how walking in the communities, can turn into a race thing. I walk in every neighborhood.
