Boehner weighs in on immigration bill

House Minority Leader John Boehner, R-West Chester, released the following statement today about the Senate's pending immigration bill. But while he doesn't give the bill his ringing endorsement, he doesn't specifically say that he OPPOSES it either.

Read for yourself:

“Securing our borders and stopping the flood of illegal immigration into the United States must be the first priority of this Congress. The American people understand that securing our borders is critical, not only to prevent terror attacks but also to re-establish basic respect for upholding our illegal immigration laws. That’s why House Republicans are united and clear on the need for stronger border protections and full enforcement of our immigration laws.

“America is a nation of immigrants, but we are also a nation of laws – those laws must be obeyed and enforced. The Senate agreement appears to recognize that additional border security measures and more effective immigration law enforcement must come before any other issues are addressed, but I have significant concerns about parts of the Senate proposal - particularly provisions that would reward illegal immigrants who have consistently broken our laws. Republicans look forward to working with our colleagues on common sense reforms to shore up our borders and put a premium on enforcing our laws.”

We must inforce the existing laws on the books...not make new ones. The only waffling on this subject should be when a boarder patrol agent slams on his brakes with a prisoner in the back seat.

Bone-head has a pecular view of "reward" verses punishment. I don't think making poor immigrants pay a $5000 fine, forcing them to go back and then return and pay back taxes is any kind of "reward" and sure as heck can't be called amnesty (forgiveness).

The fact that both sides of the aisle are complaining shows that it is a fair if not perfect solution.

Anybody can nic-pic it to death - but let's see someone find a better compromise and put it on the table to solve this problem humanely, equitably and respecting our laws -- Bone Head has been there for years and he's never forwarded a bill on this issue that has anyone clamering to back it - so
bone Head - put up, shut up or sign the darn thing and be glad there's people there willing to do what you couldn't, wouldn't or can't produce.
(I for one, don't LOVE this bill - but it IS headway to seal up the borders, stop the migration, and find out who the heck is in our country and why)

I am quite disappointed that Boehner could not come out and clearly state that this bill is pure garbage that would destroy America. It seems pretty obvious that it is time for him to be "retired" from government service since he is no longer capable of calling a spade a spade and providing leadership on this issue that supports America without some sort of qualiflier attached to his statements.

Here is what I suggest that is fair, humane, and appropriate. Congress makes an unequivical declaration that America will not be sold out or surrendered to special and/or foreign interests and that our national sovereignty will be respected by foreigners at the point of a rifle barrel if necessary.

Further I would say that Congress needs to resolve to do the following: provide all necessary money and support to increase the Border Patrol until it is of such size and power as being capable of living up to its stated mission; That foreigners found in this country illegaly after today will never ever under any circumstances be allowed to stay in this country and/or gain citizenship.

The open borders kill America crowd need to be sent a clear message. Illegals have no inherent right to be here no matter what their personal circumstances. They have no right to break our laws for any reason at time it pleases them. They have no right to be given anything that should go be going to either native born American citizens and/or a legal immigrants. What they do have rights to: To shut up and be drop kicked back to their country of origin, that is all they have a right to. Let the message go out and be heard by all illegals.

What a joke! Seal the boarders and let none of them in! Ever!
