Jean vs. Vic, round 2

Here's Vic Wulsin's press release, issued today:

Democrat Victoria Wulsin Will Challenge Schmidt in '08

Pledges to Bring Integrity Back to Ohio's Second Congressional District

(Cincinnati, OH) – Citing the need for responsible and honest leadership, Dr. Victoria Wulsin announced today that she would challenge Jean Schmidt again in 2008 to represent the people of Ohio's Second Congressional District in the United States Congress.

"When Americans are fighting in Iraq, going without affordable health care, and struggling to support their families, we need an independent voice in Congress, not a rubber stamp for special interests and the Bush Administration ," Dr. Wulsin said, adding, "The people of the Second District deserve a Congresswoman who will be honest with her constituents."

A life-long Ohioan, Dr. Wulsin is a public health doctor who has dedicated her career to public service, serving as an Epidemiologist for the city of Cincinnati and starting a non-profit AIDS prevention organization. She came within one percent of beating Schmidt in 2006, receiving more votes than any Democrat in the history of Ohio's Second District.

Schmidt has already been placed on Karl Rove's list of the most vulnerable Republicans in 2008 because of her low approval ratings and controversial record.

"The people of Ohio's Second District deserve a congresswoman like Vic who will stand up for them and represent their values in Washington and won't let politics get in the way of serving her constituents," said Todd Portune, President of the Board of the Hamilton County Commissioners.

Victoria lives with her husband, Dr. Lawson Wulsin, Professor of Psychiatry and Family Medicine at the University of Cincinnati . They have raised their four sons in the 2nd District.

Typical wRong wingnut whacko, Schmidt slinging the elephant dung HTML impersonation of Wulsin!

When the wRong wingnut "followers" have no ideas of their own, they just assume the ideas of "LEADERS" like Victoria!

Thanks to Schmidt for playing follow the "LEADER" !

lol, lol, lol

PATHETIC !

You are assuming of course that Jean will be the Republican nominee. The GOP might just want to wash their hands of this accidental Congresswoman and walking embarrassment.

Emulation is the highest form of flattery !

Thanks for the "ego boost" and for playing follow the "LEADER" !

If Republicans are smart enough to replace Schmidt with a respectable candidate, we won't have to worry about losing this district. When will Republicans clean their own house?

CHECK OUT THE THEME SONG FOR THIS AT FIREDOGLAKE:

She almost beat Mean Jean last time, and Howie says Victoria Wulsin is going to do it again:

A few weeks ago I urged Victoria to run again and she told me she was considering it and talking it over with her family and local backers in southwest Ohio. This morning's good news is that Victoria is in! I hope to get her to come on FDL for a Blue America chat in a couple weeks. Meanwhile, here's what she had to say:

"When Americans are fighting in Iraq, going without affordable health care, and struggling to support their families, we need an independent voice in Congress, not a rubber stamp for special interests and the Bush Administration," Dr. Wulsin said, adding, "The people of the Second District deserve a Congresswoman who will be honest with her constituents."

Our Blue America PAC raised $27,000 for Dr. Wulsin in 2006, and she managed to get more votes than any Democrat in the history of the district. She lost 120,112 to 117,595, but the groundwork has been put in place and it's great that Victoria is sticking with it. Howie says we'll be seeing her on Blue America soon, so thanks to everyone who has been supportive of her in the past.

This is very good news.

Those of you who followed the Libby Trial will remember FDL as the site for liveblogging. LOVE the song!

Wow I never realized Mean Jean had henchmen. Is their slaries included in the $300,000+ Campaign DEBT she has from her last campaign? By the time she needs to start fundraising again, it looks like all her GOP buddies will behind bars. She made it to Rove's list of GOP candidates whose race is in trouble. It's not looking good for her-thankfully.

Wulsin represents the values of 2nd district voters? Please -- my values don't include the promotion of killing innocent babies nor do they include "testing" AIDS patients by injecting them with malaria -- do your's?

Anon 12:04,

Stop fooling yourself. Wulsin was FIRED because she OPPOSED the treatment.

Sure, she's a bit kooky and it is fine not to like her but slander is way out of bounds.

Really, the blog author should edit those remarks. Criticism is fine. Lying is not.
