Sen. Clinton to speak at Wilberforce commencement

U.S. Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton will speak at Wilberforce University's May 5 graduation ceremony, the Rev. Dr. Floyd H. Flake, university president, said this week.

Commencement begins at 2 p.m. at nearby Wright State University's Nutter Center.

"Senator Hillary Clinton brings to our commencement ceremony dignity, hope, stature and a heightened sense of history," said Flake, a Democratic congressman from Queens, N.Y., from 1987 to 1997. "She is the finest possible choice for the honor of sending off our next generation of leaders. . .Rest assured her time with us and our time with her will prove to be invaluable."

Last June, then-Secretary of State Ken Blackwell named Flake as campaign co-chairman of his gubernatorial campaign, as reported here.

In addition to Sen. Clinton, a Democrat from New York, Bishop T.D. Jakes, pastor of the 30,000-member Potter's House Church in Dallas, Texas, will deliver the university's Baccalaureate sermon at 10:30 a.m.

Flake said the visit by Clinton and Jakes "will make this the most historic commencement in the history of the university, and quite possibly the nation."

Wilberforce is a historically black university founded in 1856 and located about 15 miles east of Dayton. Its 2006 fall enrollment was 875.

The following Saturday, May 12, in Columbus, Clinton will deliver the keynote address at the Ohio Democratic Party's annual fund-raising dinner at the Ohio State Fairgrounds.

Clinton is the first presidential candidate to commit to speaking at the $150-a-head fund-raiser, although an invitation has been extended to others, said state party spokesman Randy Borntrager.

Last June, two other presidential candidates, U.S. Sens. Barack Obama and Joe Biden, spoke at the Ohio Democratic Party's annual dinner in downtown Columbus.

Will she speak southern or yankee on this one?

Anon 3:06,

Notwithstanding your sexist remarks, if SEnator Clinton is the Democratic nominee, she WILL be the next President. With the illegal war and corruption at every level of government, not to mention the incompetence of those places unlucky enough to have elected Repugnicants, there is no way the Greedy Old Pedohiles win the White House or Congress in 2008.

In fact, a day of renewal will be dawning over America in less than 2 short years. By this time in 2009, the new President and reinvigorated Congress will end the war and the corruption by prosecuting the Repugnicant Party as a corrupt organization under the RICO statutes.

Hmmm, we don't know yet which dialect she'll be employing yet. The scouts will be deployed and they will come back with full reports so she will know what dialect, what philosophy, what positions to take.
Sorry, she just cannot make comittments until these reports are fully digested.

And yet another reason never to go to Wilberforce... They just keep adding up...

"...Sorry, ...cannot make comittments until these reports are fully digested...."

Does comittments = commitments ?

The reports will not be made on official white house channels because we will need to keep a record for the public !

Therefore;

We will be employing corrupt party leaders, utilize party emails and computer systems because we think, that way, we can hide everything from the public view !

Sen Hillary Clinton is way too devisive for the country. She is despised by the right and not trusted by the progressive left. Her supporters are the huge corporate donors who see a friend in her policies. If she is the candidate for the dems, you will see a mass exodus to third parties. Enough of the American dynasties-we need REAL leadership, not someone who holds their finger up to test the prevailing wind.

The DLC policy of free trade has devastated many middle class jobs, sending them overseas so that the investor class reaps larger profits. This policy is not only bad for American workers, but is a national security issue as well as we see our manufacturing sent to foreign countries that may someday not be our allies.

Hillary + DLC= good for the corporations but BAD for America!

Notwithstanding your sexist remarks

What was sexist about that post? You must not be keeping up with the news.

And don't be so quick to anoint Hillary the next President. Even if she does win the nomination, getting elected is nowhere close to a sure thing.

Thanks, prune-for-brains, for correcting my spelling. I type so fast, sometimes, that I do get the inadvertant mis-spellings.
I apologize for being human....

The bold italics poster makes his/her share of typographical errors as well.

He/she can dish it out but cannot take it.

Sounds like most Repugnicants that I know.

What's a "Repugnicant"?

Why do so many people on the Politics blogs make up words?

Why is it that the ones who make up words always have a Democratic slant?

Anon 1:43- "Repugnicant" is a neologism combining the 2 most striking features of a certain (soon to be minor) political party in the United States. Their policies are Repugnant. Second, the only reason why we are not all enslaved by them (well, the ones who aren't heterosexual wealthy white protestants pretending to be Chrstian) is because the members of this political party who have managed to get elected are either too busy enriching themselves or too inept to do any real damage. (Hence the "can't" at the end.)

The reason why new words stem from the left side of polticial specturm is because we are the side with all of the new ideas and progress. When has a "conservative" improved the world? Never! It is against all reason and logic that someone who clings to the past can creative positive change for the future. It's nothing personal.

And, oh yeah, Rush Limbaugh, the chief envangelist of Repugnicant hatred and bile even agrees that there is an 80% chance Hillary Clinton will be the next President.

If you'll recall the first Clinton Administration brought us the best economy ever, one in which everyone, not just the wealthy, benefitted. It was also a time of peace, with America respected around the world and not reviled. It was a time when inventions were allowed to be developed for the benefit of mankind without political intereference. Because the nation was not run by self-interested oil barons, gasoline was available at market rates.

Not surprisingly, most Americans want to return to that time. Who really wants to live now when we are fighting an illegal war, we are hated around the world, the scientific commuity has to get an old Colorado priest's permission before it can work on anything, and we give terrosits money to fill up our gas-guzzling cars?

Anon 9:47 - that's a typical Democrap response. What a bunch of Dung. It figures that Clin-toon is your hero.

See? We can sound like morons too.

Anon 9:47,
The term "Progressive" as used by individuals to discribe political dogma, is nothing more than a cover for socialism. Hellery is a 5th degree Marxist/Lennonist and has a deep rooted history as such. I agree
"Progressive" socialists have made social changes, but Lennon,Stalin,Hitler,Mao,Ho chi Mein, Pol Pot,Castro ad nausiun would not be my brand of leader. They are the only Progressive socialists that I know of. The Hypocracy of the socialist, green, progressve left is very plane. Let me give you an example:
HOUSE #1:

A 20-room mansion (not including 8 bathrooms) heated by natural gas. Add on a pool (and a pool house) and a separate guest house all heated by gas. In ONE MONTH ALONE this mansion consumes more energy than the average American household in an ENTIRE YEAR. The average bill for electricity and natural gas runs over $2,400.00 per month. In natural gas alone (which last time we checked was a fossil fuel), this property consumes more than 20 times the national average for an American home. This house is not in a northern or Midwestern "snow belt," either. It's in the South.

HOUSE #2:

Designed by an architecture professor at a leading national university, this house incorporates every "green" feature current home construction can provide. The house contains only 4,000 square feet (4 bedrooms) and is nestled on arid high prairie in the American southwest. A central closet in the house holds geothermal heat pumps drawing ground water through pipes sunk 300 feet into the ground. The water (usually 67 degrees F.) heats the house in winter and cools it in summer. The system uses no fossil fuels such as oil or natural gas, and it consumes 25% of the electricity required for a conventional heating/cooling system. Rainwater from the roof is collected and funneled into a 25,000 gallon underground cistern. Wastewater from showers, sinks and toilets goes into underground purifying tanks and then into the cistern. The collected water then irrigates the land surrounding the house. Flowers and shrubs native to the area blend the property into the surrounding rural landscape.

HOUSE #1 (20 room energy guzzling mansion) is outside of Nashville, Tennessee. It is the abode of that renowned environmentalist (and film maker) Al Gore.

HOUSE # 2 (model eco-friendly house) is on a ranch near Crawford, Texas. Also known as "the Texas White House," it is the private residence of the President of the United States, George W. Bush.

So whose house is gentler on the environment? Yet another story you WON'T hear on CNN, CBS, ABC, NBC, MSNBC or read about in the New York Times or the Washington Post. Indeed, for Mr. Gore, it's truly "an inconvenient truth."
I may be an "Idiot", but I'm no fool.

ANon 9:41 am,

I assume that you have done the original research on these homes yourself, and you are not just mindlessly forwarding something somebody sent you, copying something out of a right-wing rag, or overhearing someting Uncle Dad was telling Aunt Mom at the sister-kissing convention (oops, I meant "church picnic") last Sunday.

I mean, if there is one thing I can count on my Repugnicant acquaintances for, it is mindlessly parrotting whatever they hear on a radio talk show or an e-mail forward.

Anon 11;51,
I am not suprised with your response, for I have infiltrated your moveon/international ANSEWER/progressive/green/internatinal socialist workers party camps,
and almost suscumed to the intoxication of the hippy skanks reeking of pituly oil and ass that seems to alter ones sensibilitys.
But I digress; here is your reserch

Anon 1:04 PM,

If your attempt at a post was meant to somehow counter another post, say, for example Anon 9:47 PM yesterday, it failed miserably.

Given that these all these comments are supposedly in response to an Enquirer blog entry that Senator Clinton was coming to southwestern Ohio, 9:47 is making the point that he believes a majority of Americans will prefer the peace and prosperity of the Clinton years to the war and economic disaster we are currently enduring.

Your response was the typical conservative one, which is to change the subject by comparing the home in which Vice-President Gore lives to the vacation home of the current President. I have no idea what it has to do with anything anyone has brought up previously.

Some of my friends think that there must be a special seminar or course in Republican Spin. But the truth is that the Right in this country is acting like any 5-year-old with their hand in the cookie jar: change the subject, try to put blame on someone else.

Anon 11.06,
I am happy to read a comment from the left that is not all personal barbs. I get vicious when I have made numerous postings and all I get is "bold face elephant-dung" comments. I have left the republican party (or they have left me) because I felt like they sold me out after "04.
I beleive in minimal goverment and the policeys of Ronald Reagan.
My point was to bring to light the hypocracy of the leftists. I think we all know how many democrats in the senate voted for President Bush's "Illegle" war. The true spin-meisters were put in place when the Jr senator from NY's husband signed the telecommunications act of 1996.

And Now, everyone is out to get you !

Typical wRong wingnut whacko psycho-babble !

Is it the liberal press who won't tell the truth about how Reaganomics financially destroyed this country ?

We wonder why foreclosures were a problem under Reaganomics and now, "FORECLOSURES" are a problem under the "bush whackos" ?

PATHETIC !
