DeWine collects ice cream

Sen. Mike DeWine today collected the ice cream he won in a bet with Texas Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison over last Saturday’s football game between No. 1-ranked Ohio State University and No. 2-ranked University of Texas.

OSU beat the Longhorns 24-7. The victory keeps the Buckeyes (2-0) in perfect position for a run to a national title and snaps Texas’ 21 game winning streak.

“The Buckeyes’ convincing victory over Texas confirms that Ohio State is the number one college team in the country,” DeWine said in a release. “I thank Senator Hutchison for agreeing to offer up this delicious ice cream that my staff and I will be enjoying as we revel in Saturday night’s victory. Go Bucks!”

You can't get Blue Bell ice cream in "any store"...it's mainly only available in TX.

Ironic that you use the words "totally clueless"

Here is where Blue Bell is available: http://www.bluebell.com/folksask03.htm

30 years ago it was only available in TX. They eventually expanded to states adjacent to TX. With the addition of a plant in Alabama they have expanded the availability a bit.

Your friends in Atlanta are able to get it locally but only very recently. In 1996 it was available in Alabama but not GA. I dated someone that would drive it to me in 1996 when I was in Atlanta.

It is also available on-line! So your friends might have had it shipped to them!

By the way- a wife's homemade dessert is only a personal offer if you are the wife. If my husband offers special store bought ice cream or asks me to make something for him- his effort is the same.

If he was offering to SHIP the Blue Bell- that can cost ~$90. Pretty nice offer!

Now be sweet and eat the Blue Bell instead of arguing about it
