Well, Dewine and Voinvich should resign. After Voting for S2611 giving Amnesty to Illegals.
Which Gives Illegals, Instate tuition. Gives Illegals Prevailing Wages, which the Citizens don't get unless there on a government Job. Gives Illegals Social Security which so so many have messed up Citizens Social Security because Illegals have been using there numbers.
The Cost of it to Americans will be over 50 billion a year.
NO Security at the Borders in this bill. It states that the United States, including local, States. Will have to ask the Mexican Government if it is OK. To enforce the laws.
This Bill is a million times worst then the 1986 Amnesty bill. I encourage every Citizens to look at it.

Don't let Dewine and Voinivich have a day without calling them to ask them to Resign.

It's a damn shame we didn't have big-talking, ass-kicking 'Mericans around when our Minuteman friend above's parents or grandparents came over. Then we could have sent him back and been spared his assonine rants.

Has anyone noticed that Steve Chabot's website still says "Chabot for Congress 2004"?

Or is no one at the Chabot camp computer saavy enough to notice?

Lighten up. I'm a veteran so I can say what I please. (And you misspelled "memoral.")

Having an open thread is like having a substitute teacher, except cyber-spitballs don't have the same effect.
It's fun anyway.

How can we put politics aside when Republican follow-the-leaders like Steve Chabot got us into a war based on lies????? That would be the real disrespect.

Okay, let's change the subject. Why is the Enquirer endorsing the Heimlich maneuver for drowning rescue, a theory which has been thoroughly discredited as useless and deadly? How did this get into the paper? Why is the Enquirer promoting this quackery on Memorial Day Weekend, considered the start of swimming season? What happens if another kid in a near-drowning dies as a result of having the maneuver performed on him?

They do it because they are the mouth piece for the w(R)ong wing nuts !

Fortunately, being a veteran does not give you any more rights than anyone else !

It is not the child in the field who has lead our country into an unjust war !

IT IS THE VOTER at the ballot box who placed the w(R)ong wing nuts in power !

We have only ourselves to blame !

One may say don't blame me I didn't vote for them, but, they are just as guilty because:

a.) They did not put forth the effort to educate the public through persistence.

b.) They did not adopt a neighborhood and go door to door with the message.

c.) They did not volunteer in a campaign that they believed in.

d.) They did not volunteer to work a phone bank.

e.) They did not contribute money to their cause.

f.) They did not work a poll on election day.

g.) They did not become involved in their local political party.

h.) They did not speak up when the w(R)ong wing rhetoric was spoken within ear shot ! (I'm sorry I did not realize you were such an uninformed w(R)ong wing nut !)

i.) They did not run for office.

j.) They did not vote !

So, you see we have no one to blame, but, ourselves.

If you're a Vet and you think it is more important to run your mouth than honor your fallen, then you also have no one to blame but yourself !

I recommend to the readers of the Enquirer the video posted on deanofcincinati.com of Phil Heimlich blowing his nose.

Rick, you are an idiot. The only people who support the HM for drowning are, well, Dr. Henry himself and his boy Phillip. Plus a few medical hacks whose credentials are not in the proper field to know squat about near-drowning.

Anon 9:48 you are an idiot!

We didn't have any candidates in the race who weren't pro-war except for Ralph Nader and our poiltical system is rigged to keep honest people out of the debate.

We can blame the crooks in Washington because it was their lies and their decisions that got us into it.

If you protested then you can blame them. They started it and we will have to end it like we did in Vietnam. Not at the ballot box, but in the streets we're democracy is won.

Rick: The Heimlich maneuver for drowning has not been discredited as useless and deadly. It has its proponents as well as its detractors.

The theory is not advocated by anyone except Dr. Henry Heimlich, who hasn't practiced medicine since he was fired from Jewish Hospital in 1976. So please provide the names of these proponents you claim to be aware of. (Before you post, I suggest you check first to make sure they're not affiliated with Dr. Heimlich.)

Dr. Heimlich and his press agent Robert Kraft have been asked by numerous reporters to provide the names of any emergency medicine specialists and drowning experts who agree with Heimlich. After 30 years of pitching his theory, Dr. Heimlich can't provide a single name. Why not call Kraft yourself and ask him?

American Heart Association drowning rescue guidelines (which are used by the American Red Cross) go out of their way to warn against the use of the Heimlich maneuver as useless and dangerous. They've been warning against the maneuver since 1992 in an attempt to counter Dr. Heimlich.

Rick, the problem is that the media - such as this irresponsible Enquirer piece - often parrots Heimlich's dangerous quackery. Then uninformed people - like you - circulate it.

Remember when the Heimlich manuever for choking was thought to be useless and deadly?

Wrong again. The manuever for choking was accepted by the Heart Association almost immediately after it was introduced in 1974. And I've never heard of anyone who considered it "useless and deadly"? Rick, what's your source of this nonsense and why are you spreading it?

Anon 7:12,

Ralph Nader was the least honest candidate in the race. He took much of his money from republicans who were working to get Nader on the ballot in swing states. How honest is it for someone to take dirty money from people who deplore everything you supposedly care for? Nader was once a great consumer advocate. Now he's a filthy republican tool.

You can not blame anyone but THE VOTER, period !

They had a chance to boot the crooks out and did not !

Yes, the more voices heard the more the decider is put on notice, but:

If all you did was cry and moan and did not take an active part in change than YOU can only blame yourself !

Did you:

Put up a website posting your objections ?

Did you march with Cindy against the war ?

Are you involved in your local political party ?

Do you pass out fliers to your neighborhood ?

Do you make phone calls to get prople to vote ?

Did you put some money where your month is ?

Have you visited that free speech website:

hcrp.info ?

Or is your only activism:
posting to a w(R)ong wing nut fishwrap ?

From today's Cincinnati Beacon:

(Dr. Henry) Heimlich has zero credibility and the Enquirer knows it. Yet, even after being fully informed that the maneuver for drowning is utterly discredited and deadly, they simply reprint the same garbage with a disclaimer.

Making a mistake the first time around is one thing. The paper could have pleaded incompetence and set the record straight. But this revision is willful. By continuing to ignore the science, the Enquirer is knowingly putting people at risk. If it turns out they are doing this as a political favor to Phil Heimlich, it’s disgusting. Callinan needs to name names. Who wrote this and who made the editorial decisions?

Gannett needs to be informed. Sue Clark-Johnson is president of their Newspaper Division. Write her at hchaale@gannett.com and copy the Dean at dean@deanofcincinnati.com

The Beacon got it right. The Enquirer blew it big time.

Chabot has got to get out of the race and retire. He is so old now anyway. He does not bring anything to Cincinnati, he is not accomplished in congress, he is really ineffective, and he hardly has any hair. Not to also mention his website is so old and ugly.

I happened to catch Dr. O'Dell Owens on TV, speaking in Rev. Joseph Garr's church, explaining the value and importance of learning to read at grade level by grade 4. Those who are behind at that stage stay behind the rest of their days in school. I salute Dr. Owens for giving back to his community in such an important way. He gave up what must have been a most lucrative infertility practice to run for coroner. A terrific role model. How unlike so many who run for public office.

TB/ Erich Streckfuss,

"Ralph Nader was the least honest candidate in the race." Nader has done more for worker, consumer and environmental rights than all the Democratic party candidates put together.

"He took much of his money from republicans who were working to get Nader on the ballot in swing states." The unDemocrats spent millions to keep him off the ballot and intimidated his signature gatherers. If he took so much money from Republicans why didn't he raise more and get on the ballot in Ohio?(Cause that's a lie)

"How honest is it for someone to take dirty money from people who deplore everything you supposedly care for?" Kerry shouldn't have taken all that money from corporations, he's raises money like Bush because he's just like Bush. (A Skull & Bones, warmongering, pro-patriot act, corporate owned politician.)

Anon 11:10, I have done those things and the truth is only pro-war candidates had a chance to win because we don't live in a real democracy. Only corporate owned candidates had a chance to beat Bush and he supported the way the same policies and wanted to "stay the course", so how can you blame the voters?

They already know the public wants a withdrawl, but don't care. Halliburton, Bechtel, Lockhead Martin and GE are making too much money and owned both candidates.

Believe me... I am the last person who would ever defend Chabot. But the words of hatred that I just read are exactly what's wrong with the Democratic Party. Your comment is a perfect example of why we almost never win elections...

Everybody knows who wrote this...

Rick,

No, I have not reviewed every piece of credible medical research -- and neither have you.

As has been mentioned above, the AHA went out of their way to speak AGAINST the HM for near-drowning in last December's update to their procedures.

I have reviewed lots of the material available here:

http://medfraud.info

And I find Pamela Mills-Senn's recent series rather enlightening:

http://tinyurl.com/lvdto

But Rick, you want to discredit The American Heart Association, Dr. Robert Baratz (from the National Council Against Health Fraud), B. Chris Brewster (from the International Lifesaving Association), and the actual science of drowning because ... well, because Dr. H says so?

Very strange...

Wrong !

Odell is a closet (R). Check his voting record.

Cincinnati is (D) controlled. He just happened to be the right guy at the right time for dead man examiner.

The true grassroots (D) know his history and will crush him, although they are disgusted with Mallory for his cutting Portune out of his secrete negotiations !

I don't know about Dr. Owens voting record. He claimed to be an Independent in the talk at Rev. Garr's church. - He may be, like Nagin, a R turned D, in order to be elected. If so, it's the R's bad luck that they didn't recruit him first, instead of running the same party hack, Dr. Parrott, when Parrott's time had obviously run out. However, I'm just judging the man on his work, and have to believe that performing autopsies in the county morgue is not the easiest way to get ahead in politics.

It would seem that he thinks he can change all that ?

If he claims to be independent, he certainly didn't run as one. That should say sometime about integrity ?

He may make a good prosecutor replacing Deters the Cheater:

Make a Concealed Contribution

This is the one year anniversary when the VP of the US said on Larry King Live that the Iraq insurgency was in it's "last throes". Of course after that brilliant statement there has been much discussion of exactly what our VP meant. I will go out on a limb here and say at least 2/3's of Americans would interpret his statement as meaning the insurgency was on it's last legs or nearing it's last gasp of life or more plainly the insurgency was winding down. How about a body count in the one year since our beloved VP made his intelligent statement. Wake up people - it's not that this administration doesn't or has not made mistakes but that they just don't fess up to them very quickly. Together with their terrible judgement(invade Iraq) they have ZERO CREDIBILITY! And before you say Congress all supported this debacle that facts are: Congress never declared war on Iraq and only authorized the President to use force as a last resort. In other words they gave the President the gun but HE pulled the trigger and should be held accountable. Help - how many other wars the US has been involved in was it necessary to change the justification for the war after the battle started? This is one big cesspool W got our country in and for once I wish we could get some real honesty from this admin. And as soon as there may appear to be some progress (yahoo - a partial government 5 months after the 3rd election) we get big reports about 24 civilians possibly murdered at the hands of some pissed of GI's who just lost a buddy. 54 dead in the carnage today - and the darn liberal press just cannot print any real positive stories on Iraq lately. Wonder why???

Anybody else get a laugh out of Enquirer reporter Chuck Martin's love letter to Stan Chesley? Martin neglected to mention that alleged Democrat Chesley got thrown two huge state lawsuits (Medicare and Freddie Mac) by AG Jim Petro and then Chesley threw a big Petro fundraiser for his pal Jim. Chesley recently gave Phil Heimlich $2500, presumably thanks for throwing Chesley the Bengals lawsuit.

The FBI is investigating Petro for "pay to play" lawsuits to big donor firms in Akron. One of these days they may get around to the Master of Disaster. Huh, maybe that's why Stan needed some good press? In any case, good old Chuck was happy to comply.

For some serious reporting on Chesley, check out this 2004 Business Courier profile which includes a classic quote:

"I've known (Chesley) for 40 years, and I've always thought he was an opportunist and just a nasty son of a bitch."

Why do Enquirer reporters reflexively toady to creeps just because they're rich and local?

Paul Hackett prostituting himself again, must be looking for money to fund his political career.

He's suing the US Government, trying to collect $1000 for every one of the 26.5 million veterans whose records were stolen by a clueless Government unions worker.

For those of you who can't remember your middle school math, that's $26.5 BILLION dollars that Paul Hackett wants control of.

Yeah, Paul Hackett's a filthy lawyer all right, hookin' for the big bucks.

Anyone else get a laugh (or a jolt) from Malia Rulon's article featuring Bob Ney testing Meth detection equipment? I didn't realize we even cared about Bob Ney in SW Ohio (unless you're rooting for another R to escape indictment). Is this pay-to-print journalism?

at 12:23 PM, May 31, 2006 Anonymous Anonymous said...

I couldn't help but think the Stan Chesley article was a product of the Schmidt campaign to clear her name for her affiliation with him. Anyway you look at it, "a champion for the little guy" is a ridiculous acclaimation for this man!

Are there any Clermont County Republicans out there who are ready for a new party chairman? If so, you had better get everyone you know to call their township executive committeeperson and let them know today! The meeting, and vote, is at 7pm this evening. I hope someone credible will step up to the challenge.

at 12:22 PM, June 02, 2006 Anonymous Anonymous said...

Is Ney trying to kick his own habit(s), or does he have inside knowledge of a gas attack? (see the photograph) He certainly isn't looking out for our interests.
