McEwen may challenge results

Ed Jenkins, Bob McEwen's campaign manager, said the McEwen campaign is considering challenging the results in Clermont County.

His statement, given to Enquirer Washington Bureau reporter Malia Rulon:

"It's our feeling that for the fouth straight election in a row, voters have witnessed irregularities in the voting process in Clermont County. Naturally, this creates suspicion in the integrity of the overall electoral process that merits further evaluation."

The Schmidt campaign response, from Allen Freeman: "I think it's a futile attempt. I don't know what standing he'd have to make a complaint. He was solidly defeated in Clermont County."

The final vote count in Clermont County, from the Board of Elections:

JEAN SCHMIDT 11,461

BOB MCEWEN 7,278

DEBORAH A. KRAUS 1,447

JAMES E. CONSTABLE 846

Here we go. Bouncin' Bob [& his campaign staff] are sore losers. You lost to Jean Schmidt...again. Pack up and go home to Virginia. It was a tough race, but it's finally over.

Somebody tell Ed Jenkins, Bob's campaign manager, that McEwen conceded the race about 2 hours ago! Bob's already on his way home to Virginia by now. Let's see...driving east at 65 mph...he should be nearing the Ohio border pretty soon. Sour grapes from sore losers. Did we really expect anything less?

Hey Bizzyblog

Think it is time to stop the name calling, mud slinging, etc.

Time to show some class!! Schmidt won. If you really want to piss people off go ahead and run peoples faces in. I think you will lose a whole lot of respect for your Blog!!! Win and lose with class. Not sure you can do that. Lets see you try!!!

Jean Schmidt or Bob McEwen not much of a selection , kind of like saying would you like to bash your head in with a hammer or poke your eyes with needles. One of the other bloggers on this site stated -- If you really want to piss people off go ahead and run peoples faces in--- isn't the correct terminology "rub" but I digress. Let's hope Jean doesn't get on her soapbox and make any other congressional "speeches" prior to doing any research and no I don't count a five hour tour- set up other members of the GOP- in a Baghdad community protected by the USMC on a two day stint "research". Spend at least a week traveling throughout all of Iraq before you say I've been there and there are so many great things happening. God bless America and its soldiers not all of its leaders.

This is for anonymous 8:48am. My name is Deborah Kraus and I was the third choice on the republican ballot in the 2ND district. There was a good choice but unfortuately our biased news media made sure very few knew who I was. I pulled roughly 10 percent of the vote over all 7 counties and I plan on being back in 2 years. So everyone be on the watch for my name popping up everywhere from now on. See you in two years.

Bizzyblog: McEwen did not say he was contesting the outcome he wanted to at least take a look at Clermont. Any person or issue on the ballot in Clermont should at least check things out. They have had problems and weird things happen in every recent election. As you will see Bob will not be filing a lawsuit, ask for a recount or anything like that. And yes he showed alot of class last night in his speech. Jean said in response to a quesiong about Bob "I wish him luck" Wow how nice of her, 4 whole words is that all she could say??

Bizzyblog you have taken sides which is fine but no you have shown no class. You name called and pushed the lies that Jean pushed. If you really want a true political blog and want respect you should take a neutral approach.

Hey Debra Krause

You got 6% not 10%. I think that is about half of what you said. You helped affect this election and helped Jean. Great job!!
But do not act like you got 10%. You were a minor canidate who had no chance and maybe if you were not feeding your ego Bob may have beaten Jean. THANKS!!
