A Bolton-Mallory debate?

Dale Mallory, the ousted West End Community Council president who wants to win the Ohio House seat his brother and father once held, said he is willing to debate his principal Democratic opponent, Eve Bolton, but not on her turf.

Bolton, the former county recorder who ran a losing campaign for Cincinnati City Council last year, challenged Mallory to a debate in their 32nd Ohio House Districtrace and offered a venue where Democrats could come and here both of them - a school in College Hill, the neighborhood where she lives.

The Bolton campaign didn't hear form the Mallory campaign for about a week, but, on Monday night, Mallory campaign spokesman Dan Phenice started talking to Bolton campaign manager Martha Good about scheduling a debate between now and Tuesday's primary election.

But Phenice said the Mallory campaign preferred a debate on "neutral ground'' - not in College Hill and not in the West End, Mallory's home neighborhood, where he was impeached as community council president in February.

"Eve doesn't care where it is,'' said Bolton campaign spokeswoman Marily Hyland. "It seems a little silly to say you won't debate in certain neighborhoods when you are running in the whole district.

Hyland said she is looking for a venue in another neighborhood where the debate can be held this weekend.

The 32nd District includes neighborhoods such as Over-the-Rhine, Clifton, Camp Washington and the Heights neighborhoods.

It won't happen. Mallory's hiding out, licking his wounds after his final case was tossed this afternoon. Lawson had the chutzpah to send his twerp office boy into Judge Davis' Court with a motion for Continuance. How bad is that?

Mallory needs to go looking for a real job, one that produces a bona-fide W2. The people in the West End are finished with him & I live in the representative district, & I don't want him "representing" me. Can't be trusted.

First let's not use the term "ousted" when "impeached" will accurately suffice. Mallory is running on name recognition alone, and refuses to debate on his home turf. Anyone who refuses to debate on their home turf because they've been impeached there makes me wonder.

Perhaps Nate will save him.

Off-topic (sorry) but this might be of interest to Enquirer blog watchers.

The Dean just posted a well-documented public letter to Tom Callinan, asking why the Enquirer refuses to run the Three Centurions story about Phil Heimlich and Chris Finney's real estate partnerships.

Callinan replied immediately and says he's going to take a look and will be discussing it with Portune.

The closest that you will come to a debate is the newsmaker's interview:

http://www.wkrc.com/mediacenter/?videoId=9513

Dan Hurley had both Eve Bolton and Dale Mallory on his newsmakers show. Notice in the video how Dale denies he was impeached and how the truth will come out in court. Dale lost his case yesterday. It never got past the motion to dismiss.

And for an objective, unbiased opinion, don't go to the Impeach Mallory blog:

I think Eve's manager's last name is Gitt.
Go gitt em Eve.
Unfortunately, I think the prior comments are correct.
Dale Mallory has nothing but his (last) name.
Dale Mallory played a delay game in court.
Dale Mallory ended one case because he was afraid of a deposition.
Dale Mallory avoided a vote on CityLink for 4 months.
Dale Mallory never went to his impeachment hearing.
Dale Mallory is afraid to debate in his West End neighborhood.
Dale Mallory can't handle the truth or the Truth Squad.
There will be no debate because Dale Mallory's history is to ignore, avoid, delay, lie, and spin.

I love anon 7:53's comment:
"Mallory needs to go looking for a real job, one that produces a bona-fide W2"
Dale Mallory's sole sorrces of income per his "ethics" filings are:
"GE retirement and Empowerment Zone Consultant"
Both of these sources raise a ton of questions.
1)GE retirement eligibility is based on an age/yr of service formula. DALE DOES NOT QUALIFY.
2)EZ won't release records. They hide from Mallory questions.
3) Mallory appointed city hall MURDERER to EZ. Also appointed brother Junebug and wife.
4) Mallory EZ appointees then HIRE Mallory as consultant.
5) EZ salaries and consulting fees are $1.1million. with NO RESULTS!
6) Dale was Director of Genesis (they lost hundreds of thousands. The EZ mess will make Genesis look like small change.
7) Dale's finances are under the table and will never stand an audit.
8) His impeached girlfriend Esther Williams has hidden the West End CC books and won't transfer WECC funds to the organization.
9) Please God, don't let that crook represent us in Columbus

For an unbiased opinion check out the impeachmallory blog...HA! That could be the funniest thing I've heard all week. That's like saying, "if you want to eat at Jeff Ruby's but can't afford it, try digging through the dumpster behind the restaurant...seriously, it's just as good."

I'm worried about this seat remaining in the Dem column. Dale Mallory has the best chance to win, since Eve Bolton has got to be the most god awful campaigner I've ever seen. Talk about finding something else to do, what does Eve Bolton have on her tax returns serial campaingner. This is the third office she has run for in three years. She needs to hang em up and find something else to do besides lose elections.

Not only that, but look at who she has on her campaign team. Martha Good, the only judge who ran last year and did not get an excelent rating from the Bar. If you've ever spoken with Martha I'm sure you can understand why. Eve also has probably the biggest crackpot in the democratic party as her campaign spokesperson. Marylyn Highland is out of her mind.

But I guess you never know, maybe people in the house district like the Rosie O'Donnel, pick up driving thing.

Dale Mallory? Marylin Hyland?

I'm glad the brightest minds are at work on this race.

Couldn't the Democratic Party have done a better job recruiting a better canddiate for a sure-win district?

It's sad the a Mallory will presumably win this seat because of his last name. It's sad that the Mayor basically scared off all potential challengers to his brother, save for Eve Bolton, who runs for everything.

How Dale Mallory got in a positition to represent anyone is a catastrophic failure of the Democratic Pary.

The Enquirer mistakening identified me as Eve Bolton's campaign manager. I am not, but I admire Eve's tenacity and willingness to work very hard to make Cincinnati a better place. She is a terrific campaigner and a terrific champion of good government in Cincinnati. Why do you criticize her for having the courage to run for office repeatedly despite the very significant costs to her -- both financial and personal?

Also I wish to correct you with respect to my rating when I ran for judge last year. It is true that I was the only judicial candidate not "endorsed" by the CBA Committee in what was a very partisan process that did not reflect the results of the survey they had distributed to lawyers. There is no question that the CBA Committeed's decision did not represent the opinion of the Bar Association generally. It was clearly a politically motivated decision. I was in fact far better qualified than most of the Republicans who were endorsed.

You suggest that anyone who has talked with me would understand why I was not rated excellent. Just what is the basis for this opinion? Have you in fact talked with me about legal subjects? Please let me know how you are qualified to evaluate my competence as either a lawyer or a potential judge.
