Blackwell throws some stones.

You've no doubt seen the latest TV ad from the Jim Petro campaign - the one where a woman actor who can barely control her anger rattles off a list of business investments made by Ken Blackwell in radio stations that play vulgar music and companies that make birth-control pills and slot machines. At the end, she concludes there is only one word to describe a candidate who says he is anti-abortion and pro-family and makes such investments - "Hypocrite.''

The "hypocrite'' label is meant to sting Blackwell with a large block of Republican primary voters who have carried him thus far - the Christian conservatives, both Catholic and evangelical whom many believe have called the shots in the GOP in recent years.

The Blackwell campaign could not let this "hypocrite'' label stand, so it knocked off a radio commercial that is running on Christian radio stations around Ohio.

The ad, read by Blackwell himself, is clearly for those Republican primary voters who spend their Sunday mornings in a church pew:

"People in glass houses should not throw stones,'' Blackwell says. "And that piece of wisdom comes from our Lord, who suggested anyone without sin could cast the first stone.

"Out of desperation, Jim Petro is throwing stones,'' Blackwell continues, "viciously accusing my wife Rosa and me of hypocrisy. (Note: nowhere in the Petro ad is Rosa Blackwell mentioned.)

"When Rosa and I were informed we owned stock in questionable companies, we made the decision to sell it. End of story.''

Blackwell then goes on to lob a few stones of his own - saying that while he worked for passage of the Ohio Marriage Amendment in 2004, Petro opposed it and, as Ohio attorney general, "refuses to enforce it.'' He also brings up once again Petro's former pro-choice position on abortion, which Blackwell says Petro changed when he started running for the GOP gubernatorial nomination.

If either of these fools gets elected, Ohio is headed even further downwards.

Ken Blackwell is a breath of fresh air on the political scene. Perhaps being an African American has equipped him in a unique fashion to stand alone, if necessary, against his own party.

Like Tony Snow, Ken Blackwell, stands for truth and doesn't play politics. These two men are feathers in Cincinnati's cap.

I also believe Bob McEwen would be another source of pride if 2nd District voters can see beyond the accusations.

It's a good day in Cincinnati -- I hope that's true after May 2nd.

The mudslinging in the Gubenatorial Primary has reached a sad--even disgusting--level. It is increasingly evident, whether we Republicans like it or not, that Ted Strickland is almost certain to be the next Governor.

That said, I have after much soul searching, finally endorsed Petro at my web site (see Ohio Primary Endorsement). However unfortunate the Petro attacks on Blackwell, Blackwell's insinuation that Petro would support a mockery of marriage, has to be the clear lowest of the lowly. The Marriage Amendment was not well worded, not well thought out, and while I voted for it, nearly did not because of the reasons that Jim Petro was also skeptical. And believe me, I do not believe in the oxymoron implied in the very notion of same sex "marriage." Only a complete idiot, would take the notion seriously.

On the other hand, Petro has been an excellent Attorney General. He has been honest and innovative. And that was really what drove my choice.

Flax-

No one cares about your endorsement. No one cares about your website. Got anything else? Must be a slow day at the old law practice, eh? You seem to be riding on fumes. Unfortunately, there won't be any COASTing to victory for Bob McEwen, either. Perhaps you should return to your rocking chair and resume whittling.

Gotta love these democRAT posters on here. Go ahead and hate Ken Blackwell all you want. Continue to spread lies about our next Governor. It won't do any good. You liberal moonbats make up less than 10% of the population. Republicans are the majority party in this country and will be for years to come. With apologies to Reds 3B Chris Sabo: "We got the White House, we got the Congress, we got the State of Ohio and you liberal nutjobs got nothing!" Oh, and now we have four solid conservatives on the Supreme Court as well. You get nothing. You lose. Good day, sir!

Ken Blackwell is going to crush Petro. The folks that re-elected our President are going to vote for Blackwell in huge numbers.

Here's the latest from the Blackwell campaign. Blackwell comes out on top in straw poll held by local Blue Chip Young Republicans:

Government needs to be returned to the people- it's not about Republican or Democrat anymore. The train is off the tracks.

Special interests-- Businesss and Religion have our government on speed dial and the people are losing. No more gerrymandering, disenfranchisement and unlimited campaign spending.

We need to get government back to administering government-- if it did, maybe things wouldn't be such a mess.

Bummer, Blackwell is a good candidate, but I cannot stand his "Christian" pandering. Enough is enough on this relgious stuff. Believe in God fine. We are all entitled to their beliefs but not to impose them on others. Conservative values dictate that people do whatever they want without government interference! Legalize gay marriage and keep abortion legal. If you don't agree, that's fine, don't have or get one. Fair is fair. Equality is equality. Enough already.

Further Blackwell is trying to play the oldest political trick in the book-- uniting a majority against a small, dispised miniority for political gain. That is BS and we are wiser that this.

I'll be voting Petro and if he doesn't get the nomination-- for Strickland. Many others I know are doing the same.

Anyone even thinking of or even taking action to vote for Strickland or Petro... must still crave the "good-ole-boy-network."

Well sorry guys..."the good-ole-boy-network" must be broken.

One other thing...I would like to add...if Blackwell does not become governor for the state of Ohio...the Lord has something much better and bigger for him to accomplish.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
