Mallory: Starting The Pig

Mayor Mark Mallory will be at the starting line Sunday morning, 6:30 a.m., for the 10th Flying Pig Marathon.

He'll be starting the race by blowing a whistle. He reiterated Friday his refusal to start races by firing a gun and said his office informs anyone asking him to start a race that he won't do so by firing a gun.

Ah, but he is a manly man.....

I am proud of our mayor for taking a stand on this issue. I think it should be expanded. There should be no real rubber ducks used in the rubber duck regatta. The taste of Cincinnati should be only a vitamin supplement event.
etc. etc. etc.

GIVE ME A BREAK. How PC are we going to get?

Well, at least this event doesn't involve throwing a ball.

How ironic. Gayor Mallory refuses to even touch a 'gun' while criminals run rampant in the city.

Sound like a good mayor to me. At the beginning of the article, it sounded to me like he was running in the marathon.

His brother Dale in the course of his politics; uses thugs like Howard Beatty, the City Hall Killer, to further the Mallory family interests, (Citylink and siphoning off money from the Empowerment Zone). Because his brother swims in the cesspool of crime as part of his family duties, that leaves the Mayor free to posture all he wants.

He needs not touch a gun. He's surrounded by well-armed grenadiers. Oh, if only the rest of us had that luxury.
We might not need guns either.

I'm always astounded by the immaturity and the general lack of class displayed by people here. If Mayor Mallory chooses to start races by blowing a whistle rather than firing a gun that does not make him "weak" or "gay", it just means that he personally opposes the idea.

I venture to guess that I am younger than many of you posting comments, and if so, you all should be ashamed of yourself. It's time to grow up and stop name calling through your computer screen. It helps nothing.

Keep guessing Jeffy. And good luck with Scotty. Not that there is anything wrong with it. Don't ask/Don't Tell.

Jeff Capell,

I am not the person who calls him/her self CincyCapell. I do not have any idea who that person is. Stop referencing me in your sad little blog war. If you post my name again, I will sue you for defamation and slander. You can take that to the bank.

You have been warned.

This is just a symbolic gesture. Read the rules for "Eddie the Eagle", NRA's mascot for kids. He can't appear with a gun, be in a picture with one, etc. It would be detrimental to his message. I'm not trying to say that the mayor should live according to mascot rules, but the logic is the same.

Hey Gregory Matusak, you should check your own link before posting it. Its own definition of defamation shows that nothing posted here comes close to meeting it. Whether people like it or not, clowning anyone here, whether its by CincyMatusak or CincyCapell, isn't actionable.

Posting links that disprove your own point.......that's something cincycapell does a lot of. But I'm sure that's just a coincidence.

Be aware CincyCapell/Matusak/whoever, you aren't as anonymous as you think you are. A few subpeonas will take care of you quickly. And when you went from impersonating Capell here to leaving harassing phone messages and emails, that's when you crossed the line from being annoying to being illegal. Be warned. I imagine Capell knows he can't do anything to you for posting as CincyCapell, but keep harassing him and you'll be served soon enough.

You really need to get out and do something with your life instead of spending so much time obsessing over one person. Maybe you should work harder on your improving your musical talents, or in your case, the lack thereof.
