Independent joins 2nd District race

Madeira businessman David H. Krikorian officially qualified Tuesday to run as an independent for the Ohio 2nd Congressional District now represented by Republican Jean Schmidt.

The Hamilton County Board of Elections validated Krikorian petitions bearing more than 3,000 signatures, his campaign announced.

Schmidt already faces a challenge from Democratic nominee Victoria Wulsin, who lost to Schmidt by a narrow margin in 2004.

Excellent news. Now we have a real choice.

He might not win, but this just might be enough to split the vote in the Ohio 2nd and put Wulsin over the top.

Vic, if you are interested in some help... GIVE ME A CALL...

I have a better idea. How about we just hand Schmidt the win? Don't you people realize it? When the vote is split, Schmidt wins everytime. Wulsin should do everything to get this no name out of the race. Sigh.

Margaret... please, please stop writing political commentary; you are embarrasing yourself.

2004 huh?

Please just stick to movie reviews.

Jim Parker shows what an idiot he is, yet again. Schmidt has her conservative voter base which will come out in DROVES against someone like obama. Splitting the vote BENEFITS Schmidt, hands down. I'm sure Wulsin wants nothing more than a LOSER to help her on her campaign. Good grief. If you want her to win, get a day job and be quiet.

The Repugs are going to lose so badly, they will go out of business.

They will be as bankrupt as their policies have made millions of Americans.

They will be as unemployed as they have made millions of Americans.

They will be as unemployable as they have made millions of Americans.

They will be subjected to criminal prosecution, stripped of the very same Constitutional liberties they have stripped from millions of Americans.

This guy only helps Schmidt! Come on! Maybe he found out about some of "Victoria's Secrets" and decided to run...LOL!

This guy is Wulsin's worst nightmare come true. He may as well be on Jean Schmidt's payroll!

"Independent?"

I guess David figured that his donations to Vic Wulsin weren't making enough headway so he's deceiving people by calling himself an "Independent?"

No self-respecting Armenian is a left-wing nutcase. We have worked hard and prospered thanks to the founding principles of this country and still have much work to do in/for the homeland.

Yes, we must remember the past so as to not repeat it, but while you are living in the past, your political ideology is supporting the genocide of the ages: abortion, which is the ANTITHESIS of what our people represent.

Armenia is the little country that could and you would besmirch her good name?

պառավել my dear.

It's amazing how somebody can post a comment at 10:21 am and, at the same time, tell a former candidate for Congress to get a day job.

What's even more amazing is that there are three candidate for Congress in the Ohio 2nd district and the one person who is not a candidate, Jim Parker, is continually attacked by an anonymous right wing fanatic.

You are giving Jim Parker name recognition that he hasn't asked for. He's not even running this time. You are actually making him a viable candidate in the eyes of many Democrats.

Kepp up your anonymous attacks on a guy who lives 100 miles away, has raised zero dollars and isn't even running for Congress right now.

Can we get a bio on Kirkorian? A google search doesn't come up with anything.

Here's a link to David's site:

It looks like it's still being worked on, but his has info on it.

It's official: Congresswoman Jean Schmidt will beat this loser and Wacky Wulsin by double digits.

Congrats in advance on your great victory, Jean!

This guy is about as bland as they come. He could use a good public relations firm to help him not be quite so lame.

Shows what kind of world we live in when people think politicians need PR firms.
So sad
What happened to people who just wanted to do what's right?
To help other people?
Guess some people want their government to be like a reality show, really, really sad :(

It isn't that our government should be a side show but there is NOTHING about this guy that says "vote for me." Campaigning is 90% marketing and there is nothing about Krikorian that is remotely interesting. With the exception of the Armenian thing, his bio could be for thousands of other guys in the 2nd district.

What experience will he bring to Congress? Heck, Jim Parker had a better narrative and was a more compelling candidate than this guy.

Jim Parker is a complete LOSER with nothing to do but make meaningless comments about himself on a little-read Enquirer blog.

Go away Parker, you annoying insect.

Parker is a loser?!?! Tell that to the thousands of people who voted for him last election. I'll bet that this guy doesn't get as many votes as Parker did...

Parker was at work at a hospital in Southern Ohio when every negative comment was posted.

I'll bet he helped at least 50 people today in one way or another. Jim Parker, don't worry about what the political insiders say about you. Just keep knocking on doors all throughout Southern Ohio and listening to things that people are truly concerned about...
