Mallory, Dusseldorfing
UPDATE, for all who have wondered: Expenses for Mallory and Childs are being paid for out of the city's economic development budget. City Manager Milton Dohoney has said repeatedly he thinks it's important for city officials to represent the city on economic development trips. Mallory's bodyguard, Scotty Johnson, did not go.
Mayor Mark Mallory's in Germany this week with Economic Development Director Holly Childs and others as part of a Chamber of Commerce business development trip. After Dusseldorf, the group moves on to Munich, where they'll be for the start of Oktoberfest.
Here, he's on a tour of Dusseldorf:
Here, he's signing the Golden Book of Dusseldorf:

Well, he's just as effective there as he is for us here.
Anybody get his travel budget? Scotty go? Does he need a bodyguard in Dusseldorf?
who is paying for mallory to see the world while he is mayor of cincinnati?
Mallory is a Democrat, so it is unlikely he would have brought along any members of the Bush regime. It would be funny if he did, since they (the Bushies) would likely be thrown in jail as war criminals.
I'm hoping to high heaven the Enquirer gives us a full accounting, complete expenses on these junkets. As taxpayers, we are entitled to know how much of our money is being spent, along with the outcomes, positive & negative of these expensive getaways.
I believe the Mayor's airfare was rather steep, as he got his ticket at the last possible moment. That's an absolute outrage.
His boy Dohoney is about to stick a fork in the City Retirees over their pension benefits. Let's remember this Mayor & Dohoney weren't even thought of when the now-retireds built this City.
Full accounting, please! If you can get something, even a trial balance by Sept. 24, that would be great!
I believe the regional chamber of commerce, no one asks who pays for the congress to traipse around the world
Anon 10:09, you must have been asleep last year when stuff came about about bob Ney's travels. It's one of the reasons why he's in jail now.
Things The Enquirer won't tell us:
(1) How much has the City paid for Mallory's bodyguard, Scotty, since this silliness began?
(2) How much did his varios trips cost? (Vegas, Detroit, Germany, to name a few)?
(3) What is his position on the issues? (Jail, for example)?
(4) In fact, they won't report on anything about this ZERO, obviously concerned about being too tough on an African American mayor.
Does Mallory have to get all of your permission to go to the bathroom too?
Unreal ...
The Mayor DOES NOT have to go to Germany for economic development. We have plenty of investors here (who have fled the city for N.Ky and the suburbs). Just get real and make Cincinnati more business friendly, as Council candidate Pavelish talks about, and the investors will come back. We only need Germany for it's pretty good beer.
No, but he needs to account for spending thousands of taxpayer dollars.
Anyone else would, but he gets a pass.
Whoever gave him the Mayor Zero tag hit it right on the money.
Of course! Scotty didn't go. If he had he wouldn't have been able to say Saturday on Da Buzz that (I'm paraphrasing to make it sound a smidge more intelligent and intelligible than Specialist Johnson did, but not much because it's mighty tough) "human perversions against the Earth are the cause of earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, etc."
No FREAKING KIDDING! Our worst nightmare realized: a MORON with a badge and a license to shoot!
