DeWine sounds off on federal inmates, sales tax

Republican Hamilton County Commissioner Pat DeWine recently sent this e-mail out to those on his e-mail list. In it he blasts his Democratic colleagues' decision to keep federal inmates in the county jail and continues to try to drum up opposition to the sales tax increase that would build a new jail and fund safety programs.

DeWine even includes a power point presentation. His colleagues, Commissioners David Pepper and Todd Portune have complained that Pat, though he opposes the sales tax, still hasn't put forth any viable alternative.

The federal prisoner debate was very revealing, in that it caught portune, pepper, and leis changing their minds about the jail "crisis". Prior to this debate they said we had an immediate jail crisis.

But when all 3 lobbied to keep the federal prisoners, they insisted we had the room. They pointed out no man has been released early this year, and only a few non-violent females had to be released early. Now that leis, portune, and pepper admit we don't have a jail crisis, can we all agree to vote against their Sales Tax hike?

DaWhine knows that the better job the Republicans do in getting out the vote, the better the chance the safety plan will pass.

Conservatives are law and order people who support the array of criminal justice systems.

He is another chameleon changing his tones and betraying the agenda of his party in favor of the slivering agenda of COAST and croonies while still relying on party affiliations to keep him in office.

DaWhine will suffer the same fate that Heimlich succumbed to, another chameleon, at the polls and that fate will be predicted by the passing of the safety plan.

Sounds like Todd and David have been suckered by our empire building Sheriff.

Maybe if he gave up his tank, boats and helicopter we would have a little more money.

Pay attention to me !

I don't mean to da da da whine, but I did absolutely nothing during my time in commission majority !

I had no idea my dating and commission position would turn minority !

The commission majority treats me like the corporate interest said we should treat 'Todd' !

I think I can fight the sheriff and get elected on my 'lock' em all up rhetoric !

I'll even fight the 'feds' on this one !

Just because: I didn't do anything until my job is on the line doesn't mean I'm:

INCOMPETENT !

Does it ?

PATHETIC, DO-NOTHING !

HAD ENOUGH, VOTE DEMOCRAT 2008 !

I like DeWine's ideas, but Simon Leis told me I'm not allowed to agree with them.
