Pavelish: I'm in property rental

Steve Pavelish, a candidate for Cincinnati City Council, says he's in the process of trying to retire from the property rental and rehab business. His wife, Kathleen, died in January, and he says it's time for something new.

That's why he's pitching himself as "the only candidate running to be a full-time council member."

I'd take a slumlord over a Repugnicant any day of the week and twice on Tuesdays.

Steve fulltime councilmembers are the problem! We need people who are not relying on council as their sole income to run our city.

Steve--it's not so noble running to be a fulltime candidate when your motive is that you need the job for the income.

if one google's Steve Pavelish's name one finds the word SLUMLORD right up top!

It is true that Pavelish ownes property in Price Hill (which some call the slums) but Pavelish was always a good landlord to the renters and well respected in the neighborhood.Last Fathers Day he left a family picnic to come to our building to make a repair and spent most of the day on that repair. Try to bad mouth that.

How can people say a full time council member is a bad thing? I'd rather have a council member that I'm actually able to reach instead of one that can't even show up to a candidate forum because they were off on a business trip!

In response to the first comment (which is against my better judgment because people like you don't even deserve a response) I'll start by saying that I never saw any of Steve's literature saying he was a democrat. I'm pretty sure he's running as an independent.

I met Steve at a festival earlier this summer and I've seen him at several festivals since then. I haven't seen anyone work as hard as this man. Sure is nice to see a candidate actually out with the people and not just making appearances and leaving.

Pavelish running as a full time council member is a great idea! How can the other candidates running for council still want to treat the job as part-time when it's evident that Cincinnati has full-time problems? It's time for a change. Pavelish has my vote!
