He knows he's mayor of Cincinnati
Mark Mallory's hanging out in Northern Kentucky a lot these days.
Today, he rolled around the Kentucky Speedway track with driver Bobby Hamilton Jr., in a Mustang GT. He swears they topped 140 mph. He called WLW talk show host Bill Cunningham during the ride.
Wednesday, he'll help Newport Mayor Tom Guidugli kick off that city's annual Italianfest.
"I am mayor of Cincinnati," he said today, "but as I always point out, this is a region."
The Speedway race he was promoting - the NASCAR Busch series Meijer 300 presented by Oreo, June 16 - is expected to draw between 72,000 and 75,000 people. "That is this area's single largest sporting event," he said. Many attendees will stay in Cincinnati and spend money here.
As for his few laps around the track: "It was exciting, let me tell you. It was exhilarating, it was great. We were six inches from the wall at some points."

What an absolute joke...Rather than do something for the good of the city he spends all his time riding in fast cars and getting his suits dry cleaned. If anyone can update this blog as to what beneficial ordinance or funding he has backed or proposed please fill us in.....

Oh for corn's sake! When is this Mayor going to get up off his lazy duff & actually DO SOMETHING??!!He's been Mayor for 18 months & I've yet to see him do something. Rather than take care of Cincinnati, he's got his nose stuck in Kentucky's hiney. So figures, doesn't it?
Those people WORK over there to make things happen. Nothing happens in Cincinnati because City Hall isn't working. And this Mayor is running around, having all sorts of fun.
BTW, did he take his bodyguard/play pal on the ride around the track with him?
I'll do everything I can to suck it up for the next 18 months, because this Mayor is out the door on a fast rail.
Anon 4:33, the FishwRap didn't say anything (and neither have you, Mr. VOTE DEMOCRAT) about the DEMOCRATIC Congressman William Jefferson being indicted on 16 counts of bribery, etc, the other day.
So, stick that in your pipe and smoke it.
Good lord, when is Mallory's term up so we can boot him from office? He's all style and no substance. (That must be a family trait.)
Meanwhile the Banks suffers another setback. Anyone want to bet on Mayor Zero's promise to break ground in '07?
He'll be on some junket, riding in a fast cat, or having another meaningless press conference...with his pal Scotty in tow.
I like the "Mayor Zero" nickname. Fits.
Does ANYONE know what Mayor Zero's position on the new jail tax is?
Or anything else?
The Enquirer has a "don't ask, don't tell" policy regarding Zero's positions.
