Gas and sliders in Price Hill?
Word's getting around that the BP station on Glenway Avenue (between Sidney Road and Heuwerth Avenue) could soon be home to a White Castle too. Some neighbors aren't happy.
Councilman John Cranley, who lives in Price Hill, said his first reaction was: "We've got to find a way to fight this."
Neighbors are collecting signatures on petitions. E-mail lauraholland@fuse.net.

What, Mr. Public Transportation doesn't want to give up the close convenience of a gas station near his home?
"Public Transportation for Thee, but Not for Me" must be his motto.
Wasn't John Cranley the guy who used to constantly complain because there was no McDonald's downtown? Why is he against a White Castle in his own neighborhood?
As written, BP and White Castle would share the space, not at the exclusion of each other.
My question is why this should or needs to be stopped. It is well within the zoning code for that particular parcel.
1/14/04 - Cranley voted for the zoning code. Please explain how radically the area has changed to necessitate a change in the zoning code.
Or, is this a simple case of discrimination by singling out a particular business.
How dare Cranley listen and back the neighborhood!!!
I'd like to put a plant in my front yard. Is Commisar Cranley going to oppose that too?
Have you ever ever ever ever seen any political person as down right funny as they are in Cincinnati? Now they report the news as East Price Hill or West Price Hill. Whats the difference, they both are terrible places to live. Driven up Glenway lately?
Anon 6:28 - Okay, let's say that your prospective neighbors found out that you wanted to buy a house in their neighborhood.
They didn't want you there and started to circulate petitions and enlisted Cranley's help. How would you feel then?
Would you be as adamant about him listening and backing the neighborhood?
I think not.
I think so.
Cranley voted for the rezoning. He should back it, instead of always fluttering whichever way the political winds are blowing at the moment.
I'm concerned that you aren't much of a reader.
The question posed was to anon 6:28, not Cranley.
As noted earlier, Cranley did vote for the zoning code and maps. So, adding that provided no additional value to the conversation.
But, thanks for being concerned.
And thank you for your courtesy. How refreshing.
a concerned reader seems to be more of an opinioned writer.
i wonder who would knock-out such remarks?
